ok, as i truck driver i have to say, the worst thing u can do is allow your trailer to start pushing your truck. If the trailer starts to sway, keep the wheel straight and gently ease back into the throttle so that the trailer is once again relying on the truck to tell it where to go (very lamens terms, obviously).

I had a 78 f-250 xlt that got well over 300 000km on it and currently have a 99 lariat f 350 with 250 000 km on and with no signs of slowing down. myr raptor has a bitchin interior. and gm can make a good interior, like in the new caddilacs and even the chevy cruze. its chrysler that has yet to prove itself with a world class interior, like the one on the new challenger. i was looking at this car before i got the raptor, and not only does it have one piece of plastic for the whole dashboard, but the same ugly four spoke steering wheel from a old 300. dodges sound nice though. or are they just Ram now?

my raptor has a beautiful interior! and finely stiched leater seats, with Raptor emblazened on the headrest. and its common fact that the mustang uses better interior materials than the dodge, as well as handles much better. the raptor has a soft touch dash, and a touch screen nav, with sync. the ram is a joke next to this,off road it would get eaten alive, and the dodge-y interior would rattle and fall apart, my raptor would stay nice and composed,comfortable,and controlled.and it looks better

it has a leather interior and high quality soft touch materials on the door dashboard, and knobs. most of the knobs i never even touch because its all voice activated through sync, so i can change the radio or make calls. the only button i ever need to touch are to adjust the driver or passenger temperature and heated seats. and fords are way more durable than chryslers, jeeps have the worst reliability of any car maker according to jd power surveys

Thing is I own all three brands, from EXPERIENCE, Dodge trucks hold up the best with the most power. Last time I checked the Triton V8 and the Powerstroke are shit engines that have cost me lots of money.

Thats cool man I have Fords with over 200K too. And No no no not just one but many of my Fords have had drivetrain issues, and major electrical issues. Ford makes solid trucks I just dont own any that have gone past 300K, but my Dodges have gone past 600K. All three brands make solid trucks.

We have a lot of fleet trucks so yeah. But yeah Ford makes a solid truck, though theyre less reliable and have k mart cheap interiors, thats a fact. Found on Road Dead is a fact. But still FORD MAKES A SOLID TRUCK! Theyre drivetrains are getting better but still problems with the Triton and Powerstroke are known. Short period of time? No we have trucks from early 90s to today. Have a couple Dodge trucks, Jeeps from the 70s and 80s still going!

the power wagon is more of a low speed rock crawler more closely related to the jeep line of chryslers. the raptor is a baja style ass-kickin whoop bashing high speed pre runner. it and the power wagon were meant for different people completely. if it were a race up rattlesnake canyon, i would take the pw every time. if it were a race from barstow to vegas, the raptor would get there, check in and id be on my third beer when the power wagon pulled up
your right, my f150 has 99k miles and has had a few electrical problems, no big deal to me, i still like my truck. I just cant stand when ppl completely BASH other trucks just cuz they grew up on the ram, f150, chevy truck or even toyota. I mean, compare the new trucks and tell me the HUGE differences between all off em, i know lots of differences but some where another one will just completely own the other. I know HP's and torque vary on all. but i like most american trucks, even the tundra.
I wouldn't trust the Tundra's weak frame, not to mention Toyota trucks suspension and frame have been more susceptible to corrosion and rust. The t-100 is a prime example; not many are on the road anymore because their front suspension disintegrated, but when they first came out you would see them all over the place.
interesting, thanx for the info. to play devil's advocate, they probably fixed the problem, there's been problems with other brand trucks where they had recalls on tranny's for example and the problem was fixed. dunno if toyota actually fixed. but thanx for the info.
@ranodomvids Sorry to say it, but many of the Tacomas have had a lot of problems as well. Particularly, body and frame rust (unless you wash it all the time, and keep it in a garage, or don't get it dirty in the first place). A good friend of mine had a late '90s Tacoma, and it disintegrated, not to mention problems with the clutch and suspension. His springs actually broke! And he never hauled anything heavy, or did any off roading. Look on youtube for "Toyota corrosion, or Toyota frame rust".

Notice when the trucks pass the big rig, all of the other trucks are closer to the big rig than ford, so the other trucks will get more of the draft than the ford. Another thing to look at is, all of the trailers were box trailers so you can not see if they are empty. The trailer pulled by the ford might have been weighted down and the others empty.

question? why shouldnt a half ton tow that much? Ive put 9000 trailer and all on my 06 f150 4x4, pulled it just fine and stopped just fine. Really, i think u dont know to much about trucks, or u dont keep up with it. You say lack power! The f150 has as much hp and torque as every other half ton except tundra and ram. The ford can outpull all other half tons, that requires power. The f150 loses speed due to torque management, traction control, and a slow shifting tranny. Ford does not go forspeed
towing is not based on how fast u take off with the load! And chevy would have to bring a 427 to compare with fords 330, lol. On a real tow test, u would start with about 10k lb pull and seehow each truck handles, braking, steering, and pull power, and then u keep adding1000. Also have u seen the test where all the trucks do a quarter mile drag, the f150 was last again, but the f150s speed difference when pulling was less changed than any other truck

lol dude do me a favor ok goto google and type in motor trend half-ton shootout. the silverado was 130$ more than the f150 both loaded the sierra was considerably more but the silverado was exactly 130$ more than the f150. and yes the silverado also out ran the 5.7 hemi from 0-60. my friend has the new sierra with the 6.2L and fully loaded with 4x4 4-door loaded with 4 adults we out ran a 03' mustang on the interstate and his truck has nothing but a tune. the truck has CRAZY power and excellent
the f150 raptor will also MSRP at 42k which means loaded it will be well over $50,000 so it will be far mar than the silverado which will still have more power and more torque. the tundra is actually the only truck that was even close to the towing of the silverado or the sierra with the 6.2 and that was soley due to its gearing BUT the tundra gets HORRIBLE gas mileage like 9mpg or less while towing

6.2 liter engine in a 2009 GMC? i thought they discontinued the 6.2, besides the 6.2 was an old diesel that chevy used in the 1 ton silverados and sierra's back in the early ninety's.
actually the new escalade in 2007 was the introduction of the 6.2L in the GM line up if im not mistaken. the 6.2L was only available in the denali and the escalade. but for 09' the introduced the 6.2L in the silverado and the sierra.
the duramax diesel is a 6.6L engine. both the sierra and silverado are both offered with the duramax in the 2500HD and 3500HD. but we are talking about half-ton trucks here the half-ton silverado and sierra are now offered with the 6.2 Liter gas engine offering 404hp/420lbs-ft/tq. they just started putting these engines in the half-ton sierra and silverado in 2009 before that they were only offered in the denali and escalade
well its a new gas burner like i said it was introduced in 07' i beleive. none of the companies ford,chevy,dodge actually make their diesel engines they have contracts with diesel engine companies the duramax is made by izuzu,the powerstroke is made by International, and the cummins is cummins lol.
they are built really heavy. i have heard that the 6 cylinder cummins weighs more than the V8 powerstroke or duramax. the approximate weight of the cummins diesel engine is about 1200 pounds i think which is heavy for a 6 cylindder.

6000 lb is nothing, and on your hill test, what is the differential difference. They used a ford 3.23 compared to toyota 4.3. Can you tell me if theres a difference there. The toyota will beat the f150 speed wise with 20k lb on a run. Its not how fast, its how dependable doing it, and the ford uses less fuel pulling than any other half ton. i think your dad should learn to calculate fuel mileage. That damn dodge cant get 16 city if he went down hill idling a whole tank. Its only rated 13-14 city, and thier 20 hwy with that cutout engine is exaggerated. It has to be 2wd, the smaller wheel pkg, doing around 60 mph. Toyota tundra still the better truck! when the tundra came out everyone's like yuck the interior ugly but look at the new dodge and ford same interior look alike american's just doesn't want to admit it. Besides that The tundra is the only truck that showed real test. 0-60mph with load in the back fastest and brakes the best. In real life no one really actually run into things like this. Oh, and about the brakes, it's the AUTOMATIC stability control on the Ford. You keep your foot on the gas, the truck works the brakes via and automated system to keep the truck stable. Only Ford has it.
ok, first off the truck was waaaay closer to the Dodge... 2nd, the driver hit the BRAKES on the Dodge, which AUTOMATICALLY overrides the trailer sway control.

ok, as i truck driver i have to say, the worst thing u can do is allow your trailer to start pushing your truck. If the trailer starts to sway, keep the wheel straight and gently ease back into the throttle so that the trailer is once again relying on the truck to tell it where to go (very lamens terms, obviously).

I had a 78 f-250 xlt that got well over 300 000km on it and currently have a 99 lariat f 350 with 250 000 km on and with no signs of slowing down. Dodge is the best truck and always has been since the Dodge brother used to build Ford trucks for them! Jeep and Dodge invented the heavy duty truck and still have the most durable trucks out there. the Power Wagon is the best truck ever made.
I own all three brands and my Dodges hold up the best, and off road the best as well. But Ford is a solid truck but has some reliability issues from experience.

myr raptor has a bitchin interior. and gm can make a good interior, like in the new caddilacs and even the chevy cruze. its chrysler that has yet to prove itself with a world class interior, like the one on the new challenger. i was looking at this car before i got the raptor, and not only does it have one piece of plastic for the whole dashboard, but the same ugly four spoke steering wheel from a old 300. dodges sound nice though. or are they just Ram now?

my raptor has a beautiful interior! and finely stiched leater seats, with Raptor emblazened on the headrest. and its common fact that the mustang uses better interior materials than the dodge, as well as handles much better. the raptor has a soft touch dash, and a touch screen nav, with sync. the ram is a joke next to this,off road it would get eaten alive, and the dodge-y interior would rattle and fall apart, my raptor would stay nice and composed,comfortable,and controlled.and it looks better

it has a leather interior and high quality soft touch materials on the door dashboard, and knobs. most of the knobs i never even touch because its all voice activated through sync, so i can change the radio or make calls. the only button i ever need to touch are to adjust the driver or passenger temperature and heated seats. and fords are way more durable than chryslers, jeeps have the worst reliability of any car maker according to jd power surveys

Thats cool man I have Fords with over 200K too. And No no no not just one but many of my Fords have had drivetrain issues, and major electrical issues. Ford makes solid trucks I just dont own any that have gone past 300K, but my Dodges have gone past 600K. All three brands make solid trucks.

We have a lot of fleet trucks so yeah. But yeah Ford makes a solid truck, though theyre less reliable and have k mart cheap interiors, thats a fact. Found on Road Dead is a fact. But still FORD MAKES A SOLID TRUCK! Theyre drivetrains are getting better but still problems with the Triton and Powerstroke are known. Short period of time? No we have trucks from early 90s to today. Have a couple Dodge trucks, Jeeps from the 70s and 80s still going!

I wouldn't trust the Tundra's weak frame, not to mention Toyota trucks suspension and frame have been more susceptible to corrosion and rust. The t-100 is a prime example; not many are on the road anymore because their front suspension disintegrated, but when they first came out you would see them all over the place.

@ranodomvids Sorry to say it, but many of the Tacomas have had a lot of problems as well. Particularly, body and frame rust (unless you wash it all the time, and keep it in a garage, or don't get it dirty in the first place). A good friend of mine had a late '90s Tacoma, and it disintegrated, not to mention problems with the clutch and suspension. His springs actually broke! And he never hauled anything heavy, or did any off roading. Look on youtube for "Toyota corrosion, or Toyota frame rust".

Notice when the trucks pass the big rig, all of the other trucks are closer to the big rig than ford, so the other trucks will get more of the draft than the ford. Another thing to look at is, all of the trailers were box trailers so you can not see if they are empty. The trailer pulled by the ford might have been weighted down and the others empty.

towing is not based on how fast u take off with the load! And chevy would have to bring a 427 to compare with fords 330, lol. On a real tow test, u would start with about 10k lb pull and seehow each truck handles, braking, steering, and pull power, and then u keep adding1000. Also have u seen the test where all the trucks do a quarter mile drag, the f150 was last again, but the f150s speed difference when pulling was less changed than any other truck

lol its not about how fast you take off with the load? of course not but if a truck is capable of taking off with a load 2 seconds quicker than the next truck than obviously it has alot more torque to get the weight moving and alot more HP to keep the weight going. and as for the 427 vs. the 330 the entire point behing the comparsion was that ford offers a 320hp engine for the same price that GM offers a 404hp engine. and although the cubic inches are larger than fords that actual diameter

the other trucks are that much faster when they are empty! Drive an f150, punch it to the floor and u will know why, it is restricted all to hell, more than any other truck off the line, and ford does that for dependability purposes. Also the trucks u are referring to are not the same price! The Silverado with the 6.2 is 5-10 grand more. What are u gonna say next year when ford offers their 6 liter raptor, and that 6.2 chevy cant hang with the 5.7 hemi

lol dude do me a favor ok goto google and type in motor trend half-ton shootout. the silverado was 130$ more than the f150 both loaded the sierra was considerably more but the silverado was exactly 130$ more than the f150. and yes the silverado also out ran the 5.7 hemi from 0-60. my friend has the new sierra with the 6.2L and fully loaded with 4x4 4-door loaded with 4 adults we out ran a 03' mustang on the interstate and his truck has nothing but a tune. the truck has CRAZY power and excellent

the f150 raptor will also MSRP at 42k which means loaded it will be well over $50,000 so it will be far mar than the silverado which will still have more power and more torque. the tundra is actually the only truck that was even close to the towing of the silverado or the sierra with the 6.2 and that was soley due to its gearing BUT the tundra gets HORRIBLE gas mileage like 9mpg or less while towing

gas mileage. and what am i gonna say next year when they offer the 6.2 with 400hp/400lbs-tq in the raptor? im gonna say hmm GM has been offering 404hp/420lbs-tq for nearly 2 years now its about time ford stepped up to try to compete with the competition after finally upgrading from a 320hp engine. and the raptor will initially have the 5.4 it wont have the 6.2 for a good while. and i highly doubt the raptor will be good at towing with a soft suspension the rear end will SINK!

6.2 liter engine in a 2009 GMC? i thought they discontinued the 6.2, besides the 6.2 was an old diesel that chevy used in the 1 ton silverados and sierra's back in the early ninety's.

actually the new escalade in 2007 was the introduction of the 6.2L in the GM line up if im not mistaken. the 6.2L was only available in the denali and the escalade. but for 09' the introduced the 6.2L in the silverado and the sierra.

the duramax diesel is a 6.6L engine. both the sierra and silverado are both offered with the duramax in the 2500HD and 3500HD. but we are talking about half-ton trucks here the half-ton silverado and sierra are now offered with the 6.2 Liter gas engine offering 404hp/420lbs-ft/tq. they just started putting these engines in the half-ton sierra and silverado in 2009 before that they were only offered in the denali and escalade

well its a new gas burner like i said it was introduced in 07' i beleive. none of the companies ford,chevy,dodge actually make their diesel engines they have contracts with diesel engine companies the duramax is made by izuzu,the powerstroke is made by International, and the cummins is cummins lol.

they are built really heavy. i have heard that the 6 cylinder cummins weighs more than the V8 powerstroke or duramax. the approximate weight of the cummins diesel engine is about 1200 pounds i think which is heavy for a 6 cylindder.

Actually the V8 Duramax is produced by GM, and was designed as a partnership w/ Izuzu, Ford will also be producing its own Scorpion Diesel.

they go for towing. And howdo u say they lack mpg when its second in class behind chevys 21 mpg, the f150 gets 20. My f150 gets better than my bro in law silverado, and his is 2 yrs newer! f150 is second in quality, 2 points behind toyota, then chevy, nissan and dodge are nowhere close. And also, test show the f150 has more on the road over 250000 miles, and with less problems per vehicle than any other truck. The Tundra was not in that test, due to how new the engine is. this is what i see when i look at the facts, ford can only haul 2k more then the competition which is good, now mpg is less then chevy, dopdge ties with 20 as well, however the dodge has a shit ton more hp and torque so win to dodge. hauling 6k lbs up hill the toyota beat it by over 3 seconds win to toyota, before you stupid fanboy mouth moves think that this isnt the only review in the world. i dont hate any truck but ford falls short in everything execpt max payload.

6000 lb is nothing, and on your hill test, what is the differential difference. They used a ford 3.23 compared to toyota 4.3. Can you tell me if theres a difference there. The toyota will beat the f150 speed wise with 20k lb on a run. Its not how fast, its how dependable doing it, and the ford uses less fuel pulling than any other half ton. Have u ever talked to someone with a brand new dodge. I have, it gets 10-12 mpg in city, and rated 20 hwy. Itwont get that 20 unless u drive it 60mph

i think your dad should learn to calculate fuel mileage. That damn dodge cant get 16 city if he went down hill idling a whole tank. Its only rated 13-14 city, and thier 20 hwy with that cutout engine is exaggerated. It has to be 2wd, the smaller wheel pkg, doing around 60 mph. And really u talk to someone with ford or chevy, most dont get 20 -21 with them neither. Make up what u want, most people wont believe u. Ive also heard that dodge has already started experincing problems with the cutout

Toyota tundra still the better truck! when the tundra came out everyone's like yuck the interior ugly but look at the new dodge and ford same interior look alike american's just doesn't want to admit it. Besides that The tundra is the only truck that showed real test. 0-60mph with load in the back fastest and brakes the best. In real life no one really actually run into things like this. Besides all that Ford is weak on HP and TQ compare to toyota and dodge.

Oh, and about the brakes, it's the AUTOMATIC stability control on the Ford. You keep your foot on the gas, the truck works the brakes via and automated system to keep the truck stable. Only Ford has it.

ok, first off the truck was waaaay closer to the Dodge... 2nd, the driver hit the BRAKES on the Dodge, which AUTOMATICALLY overrides the trailer sway control.
