  • gracias a los simpson :)

  • @EleniValois I don't know what you said, but it has the word, "Simpson" in it so I liked it.

  • Immensa.

  • Is it just me or is Carole sexy here? She had a nice touch with the, what, daisies in her hair. She always was a real hippie. Hippies were all about love...

  • shes like ian anderson of jethro tull...much better live

  • REAL MUSIC!!

  • Carole King was really at her best times back then. The best musicians you could imagine and the popular music was... real.. This is probably one of the best jazz videos on youtube. I love the 1st and beatiful solo of the sax guy but the second one is so undescribably GOOD!! The way he plays his tones with this amazing speed but still all the tones are chosen carefully and everything sounds just perfect. then he passes over to this god of a guitar player and gets back to the solo again. BEATIFUL

  • Das ist so g.......

  • Ein verdammt guter Song. :)

  • KIng at her best.

  • What a kick. Carole put a pretty hot band together there and it looks like she's really having a good time. Hell, I'm having a good time just listening.

  • I LOVED HER THEN, AND I LOVE HER EVEN MORE NOW.

  • Carolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll I love you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • with carole king and karen carpenter, wow, the best!

  • man, what a fabulous song

  • Love me some carole, i remember when Tapestry album came out in 71!

  • @criesser: amen to that! wow!

  • Live or Memorex??? Back in the day it didn't matter. You didn't need to mix or blend the music in the studio. They didn't lip-sync and people that went to the concerts new what they were getting.

  • @dennello Amen to that. And 90% of the time, it was worth every dime you paid.

  • i must admit i am mainly a rock fan so its not as prevalent in that genre. but one of my favorite instruments to listen to is the sax. perfect sound perhaps on a late night or in a city somewhere.

  • Sax me up!!

  • Freakin' awesome!

  • one of the best...

  • this makes me think of lisa...which makes me think of bleeding gums murphy...which makes me cry </3

  • 4 minutes pure passion talent and harmony

  • OH WHAT THE HECK

    ONE MORE TIME

  • wow!!!!!! sin palabras

  • She really did have a face for radio...

  • why did the old people look like this ? is it the camera or did they really look like that ?

  • @itscloudyagain I can see young people They are everywhere ! But they don't know that they are young !

  • Rayos... creo q comienza a gustarme el jazz! =)

  • who wants to make a band with me and cover this?

  • They dressed so tastefully back then

  • my aunt from california told me not to long ago that she and her friend went to the same college that carole king went to as she was just starting out. And I have to say that was a big shock to me lol.

  • This is a great tribute to Tom Scott who performed on the original album recording.

  • Check out how she hands it off to the sax player, beginning at 1:25 to 1:42. THAT is UNREAL. She shouts jaaazzzmaaa-AAAAAANNNN!!!!!, as his lead-in cue. And then, like a magical being, he comes in with a beautiful, SCREAMING single note. Followed by a second long sweet, sweet note. He then rolls into a fantastically fabulous run of notes (just beyond belief). Listen carefully how Carol sings last half of the word "jazzman" (the word "-man") when she comes back in.

  • @hitomusic That is REAL musical magic!

  • @dracsspago So right, friend! - magical.

  • one of my favorite songs!

  • I thought this song was made up by the simpsons until i heard carol king singing it.

  • Charles Larkey (bass) is one of the best bass players in the world - he recorded on nearly all of Carol's early hits. Too bad he's so under rated. What a talent.

  • @vegasguitars Yes, the bass work is fabulous beyond belief. Many of these fantastic musicians go unrecognized or sparsely acknowledged as being the "fabric" of these monumental recordings - that is, the work of "the band". Mainly because they are professional studio musicians who the public rarely, if ever, "meets". You don't see these folks being interviewed by Carson or Leno; they "quietly" gave the star artists the wallop of their magnificent skill during the recording sessions.

  • Just had to see the original (after hearing it on The Simpsons). Great stuff! :)

  • I like this song, i can sing this song pretty good.

  • back when people had a passion to play music

  • carole king has alot of great songs

  • @tryby12

Indeed, she has tons of them!

  • Haley's GOT to sing this song! It's amazing! :D

  • She really can feel the music

  • This is so SAXY!!

  • Carol's so Hot..

  • this should have soooo many more views

  • who was the guitarist?

  • Wow haven't heard that good of jazz jam in years! smokin band!

  • Lovely song, live or recorded. But it doesn't come on the radio much these days.

  • can anyone suggest me some good songs similar to this masterpiece?

  • @incoccade Just get her classic album "Tapestry".

  • @incoccadem if you are looking for female singers I'd recommend old Kim Carnes or Carly Simon. On the male side, Blood Sweat and Tears: Symphony for the Devil.

  • ... Bof?

  • 3:27 uffff ahhhhhhhhhhh Carole i love you.!!

  • la vercion de los simpsons es mejor xD

  • When the lead guitar player solos (starting at 3:14), at times he's just like, FLAPPING his fingers onto the frets. I mean, like, he's just like, banging on the neck of the guitar with his fingers. UNREAL. His last trailing note (3:43) is GAWD, BEAUTIFUL sounding. It has a wavering, beautiful sound to it. And then thereafter, the way the saxophonist and him "mesh" is not to be believed. You just KNOW Carole King is IN HEAVEN playing with these musicians. You can see her just reveling.

  • One if not perhaps the best ever female singer/composers!

  • Hum... Le saxophone n'est pas vraiment pareil et ça change un peu tout...

  • What a bunch of hippies in this vid.......oops, guess I was one too back then. Carole King is one of the greatest singer/musicians ever. I hope she's doing well.

  • I have the impression Carole elevates her fellow bandmembers here with her positive attitude, she makes every musician part of her team in a very special and beautifull way. She is the opposite of being arrogant; inspiring! A musician myself i wish i've had been there playing!

  • @jorisdeb I read an interview with Waddy Watchel who got his first big break playing for Carole on her Thoroughbred album. He said that she was always easy to work with and had a great ear for what each musician did with his instrument. I can't remember which musician it was who years ago worked with Linda Ronstadt and stated that working with Carole King was so much easier because King knew pretty much what she wanted from the band and could communicate those ideas quickly.

  • Totally fabuuuuuLOUS live, real, happening music. Just unreal. The sax player is incredible.....the lines, the voicing, the tone, his "chops". A fitting collaboration. Carole King with that horn player just making music come alive, in a way that makes history and becomes the measure of all else to reach for. This live performance is such a fantastic jam session - the music is perfection.

  • 3:28 Not a pretty sight at all ><

  • Bon Nadal i un Bon Any Nou!

  • A pop song about jazz. Peculiar.....

  • The program this was extracted from did not have "Sweet Seasons".

  • Do you have a video of her doing Sweet Seasons from this time period?

Btw, thanks for uploading this video!

  • I like this song.

    Thanks, Lisa Simpson

  • She's not the greatest looker or the greatest singer, but she had the great songs, and back then that was plenty good enough! Today, if you don't look good, you won't get a record deal except under very very special circumstances (son or daughter of famous film/recording star, for example!)

  • Lisa Simpson <3

  • Carole King is so great. Rediscovering her music after 35 Years.

  • Back off on the funk bass, holmes.

  • SAX APPEAL!!

  • I like this live version better that the vinyl, the sax and guitar solo's are more powerful

  • @Kyocera234 True. Though I thought Carole's overdubs on the studio was a nice touch.

  • Actually Eric was there that evening but did not play on this one. He is, however, on "One to One" with a stupendous solo.

  • @EdWaldrup Eric's solo begins at 2:48 on "One to One". He is in a dark jacket with a turquoise shirt. I do not see a mustache.

  • He's either the guy behind her, or the guy standing next to the sax player. Trouble is, they both have mustaches.

  • OUTSTANDING!!!!

  • Carole King and Eric Johnson in the same room together?!? It just got better.

  • @dharmaseed Where is Eric johnson I cant recognise him

  • Love the jazz man

  • That lead eas done by Rob McEntee Dan Fogelberg's longtime guitarist.

  • amazing i love this song ♥

  • damn that guitar/saxo solo at the end is making me wanna cry!

  • @akakazaam whew, yes, that guitar solo is UNREAL. They way he came in right off the sax player's closing long note is awesome! The band is full of incredible musicians. The sax player came right back and seamlessly carried the flow and then they were "meshing" - GAWD that is INCREDIBLE! Musicianship at it's very best.

  • yes,that's THE Eric Johnson...........

  • man, Eric Johnson? =o
