Im in the making of building my own custome tapping guitar based off the alto. the only thing i have not decide yet on what gages and my tuning. can you help out with some suggestions?
I love this piece, Jan. I am so inspired by your sound that I ordered a new SG12 Stick. I love my 12-string grand, but I want the range you use here. It is so sweet and clear, no clunks. The melody is so simple yet it grabs me every time I hear it. Well done and you have caused me to spend money!
The SG12 has the same range as the alto Stick. It is essentially a 12-string alto. The extra 2 strings are a lower string on the melody side and a higher string on the bass side. There's more overlap but they are pretty much the same thing. The 2 strings add some tuning possibilities that I want to try, like a dual 4ths tuning that is one octave apart.
I'm looking forward to new music from you. I hope to have a new video up over my winter break from the college where I teach.

I once learned Flamenco guitar and had to make my nail grow but it was obstacle in playing a Stick.
How do you deal with that in your case?
