It does take a certain mindset yo...AND THANK GOD I HAVE IT..I have been tryn to turn my fellow Metal Brotherz on too them for years and they Just dont seem to get it..???Oh well There lose,,
I saw them tonight in Oklahoma City at a small venue called the Conservatory. I was literally 1 foot away from Buzzo. He was extremely talkative, walked directly out into the bar afterwards. They closed with Okie from Muskogee. It was a great night. The venue held 200 people max, they could have cancelled that show, but they played and it kicked ass. He wore his black fleece in a room that was around 90 degrees and had poor ventilation. The two drummer setup they use now is thunderous!
The Melvins basically collaborated with Fantomas... whats this who followed who bs? They are all friends who are helping each other as much as a they are helping themselves. This is just the music industry game (which we don't understand) unfolding before our eyes... is all.
i have seen then 4 times and am so proud to say that they are my fav band and for all those that dont know king buzz gave kurt cobain his first black flag cd and if it wasnt for him and dale kurt would still b listening to oingo boingo ya thats right he influenced a whole generation kurt was his roadie and also king buzo was the first to go to seattle and kurt followed also dale was the first drummer for nirvana so i feel sorry for all those that just dont get it
@nabz699 Dale also played bass for Fecal Matter alongside Greg Hokanson on drums and Kurt leading. Songs like "Suicide Samauri", "Bambi Slaughter", "Buffys Pregnant", "Sound of Dentage", and old (the first) recorded versions of "Downer" and "Spank Thru" , all songs that would come out years later in a boxhead as Nirvana Songs, were actually Fecal Matter songs. Thanks Dale.
Rutmanis was fucking ownership. Best lineup, though? What about JOE F'ING PRESTON!? Fact is, The Melvins rule no matter who plays bass, and they will figure out how to make it rad... The greatest band in the World. Disagree, and be wrong.
Joe is awesome but he really wasn't that great in the Melvins. His solo album was the weakest and Buzz wrote all the bass parts on Lysol...and then he was fired.
didn't know that about Joe P. in my opinion Rutmanis was their best bassist, but Trevor Dunn is sick! (i know he is not part of the band, only a tour guest) but I saw them last month with Trevor and they rocked, maybe Buzz and Dale should consider him to be a member of the band.
Buzz is awesome! The melvins are one of the greatest bands ever, and deserve more respect from the music press. Their impact on rock music is immense.
I certainly agree they deserve respect, but them not getting any is part of what makes them great. They gave up on that shit along time ago. Who the fuck listens to critcs, anyway!?
The riffs Night Goat are almost the exact same pattern and structure as a song off of A Senile Animal that I can't think of the name of at the moment.
You're probably thinking of A History of Bad Men. The Man with the Laughing Hand is Dead from The Crybaby also has a similar riff. I think they are three very different songs though and I rarely notice the similarity.
Just about everyone noticed how "a history of bad men" sounded like "night goat" off houdini but it also sounds like another melvins song called "vile" off of Ozma. If you know guitar, and tab's, I think all the songs are using Fret 3 and Open on The E string(dropped D) "vile" is an amazing song and one of my fav's.
yeah, he did both gigs, and mike just entered the stage at the end of the melvins show and started screaming so there was no real break between shows. awesome.
I've had the good luck of seeing (the) Melvins 10 times. It never gets old. I bought the CD/MP3 at their last show with 11 concerts on it. Flippin' sweet.
youknowhowyouuploaded "the fool/night goat" andchangedmylife?justwantedtoask, ifyoucouldpossibly please with sugar plum trees and gummy drop leaves..re-upload either just "the fool" in it's purest from the beginning all the way until "night goat" or the full two songs, "the fool"is my absolute favorite song, the only other live performance was destroyed by some beaver(causehe'sadirtbag) if you can't iunderstand if you could would mean the world to me!shanks for the time seasofluck!!
I would love to hear the beginning of this I love how it is on the album and Im sure they drug it out Melvins style. The audio on these are top notch.
Just because someone posts on a forum somewhere that now the melvins are x genre of music doesnt mean its true. Most (good) musicians just let it flow they dont try to stay within borders of any genre. If you did that you would seriously limit your creativity. I would classify this as rock and roll and 100 years from now thats what it will be remembered as.
Buzz has been married to Mackie Osbourne for over 10 years smart ass. Stick to your Linkin Park anime videos so I don't have to waste time reading your inane comments.
