I remember seeing Renee playing at the Towers in Rotorua back in the 90's and the place was only a quarter full ( shames on you rotovegas! ) But she was a true pro and sang like it was a packed house and made lots of jokes about how empty it was because you could literally count the people there. She sang this song as an encore (!) with only an accoustic guitar on backing and blew the roof off the place. It was an awesome version and I hoped she would record an unplugged album but not so.

I know she had awesome success in the 70's here in Oz, but man, it should've continued & she deserved so much more success overseas... guess it was all timing! Can you imagine this woman with this voice coming onto the scene today?!?!?! Wow, blow everyone away!

Easily the most authentic blue-eyed soul singer that many still don't know about. Her tone and her nuances is truly some of the best I've heard. She has them down better than any of her more famous contemporaries. The young ones think it's about how many riffs they can do, that it equates to singing soulfully. Just not the case...

Renee is one of my favourite singers. I've followed her career for years. Very true, she does it better than anyone.

I've always wondered why Going Back never made it to YT. It may not be the blues but its a fantastic song and she does IT better than Dusty.

Renee Geyer was recently diagnosed with a form of breast cancer.

She has had surgery and seems to have beaten this problem!

Listening to this beautiful song I am hoping her health is "heading in the right direction"

Apparently she has resumed singing and has a very positive outlook.
