weller is a god and has been a god for forty odd years. although i like the jam and sc, i think that paul has produced some of his best material on his own
This album was like a ray of light in 1992. It and Wild Wood were the soundtrack to that strange, psychedelic time (along with house & techno). Each album has no throw away tunes: amazing for a geezer in his 3rd incarnation. I remember making a tape of this album/Wild Wood for my Jam-loyal best friend who initially turned me on to the Style Council in high school, and his reaction: "It's amazing! He sounds like early Traffic." Long live Paul.

This man is living in small faces wet dream, everything he has done has been so generic. His studio is full of vintage 60s amps, compressors valve stuff.Mod father is an apt term he jumped on the second train, yes he composes /plays well but did not push or break any new boundries quite like noel galagher totally derivitive. Lydon tried with early public image ltd. i am aware that people accept this stuff, not me my bar is way to high.Lydon may have aped iggy pop but at least he tried .
Paul can make anything look good...apart from them shorts...long hair (Thats Entertainment vid - very cool), short hair (In the city/Modern world days -very cool), got a bit dodgy in Style Council days with the slick back on 'Feed The World' Ban Aid vid...talented fucker though who I have worshipped since I was 11 years old....31 years later and still do....Andrew
this is my favourite song ever!

IF YOU DO NOT REPOST THIS YOU WILL HAVE RELATIONSHIP PROBLEMS FOR THE NEXT 5 YEARS!!!
SEVENTEEN:
You look at their profile constantly.
SIXTEEN:
When you're on the phone with them late at night and they hang up, you still miss them even when it was just two minutes ago.
FIFTEEN:
You read their Texts and Ims Over and over again.
FOURTEEN:
You walk really slow when you're with them.

This was the first Paul Weller song I had ever heard in like 1992 when I was a youngster and I still love it today. Especially @ 1:42!

So basically you have to break new boundaries to make good music? Very narrowminded.

I agree, this is one of my favourite songs from Weller too, up there with Hung Up - absolutely fantastic.

every recording artist is compared to the Beatles, when it really, Paul Weller should be the standard!
Paulie is more prolific that ANYONE in the history of music!
stylecounciler 4 years ago
Elvis Costello is pretty damn prolific - in addition to his stuff there's loads of his songs that have only been recorded by other people.
But personally I prefer Weller.
