I admire the very kind and caring words spoken by Speaker Pelosi and Leader Hoyer. I'm glad that Democrats could put partisan feelings aside for this very heartfelt tribute. Unfortunately, it often seems that civil Democrats can sometimes be hard to find. Again, I really appreciate the graciousness of the two Democrat leaders on this occasion.

I encourage everyone to say a prayer for Paula Nowakowski, her family, friends, Leader Boehner and his staff. In times of tragedy like this, it really puts the importance of things into perspective. I hope Paula will serve as an inspiration to all of us to be more civil and respectful to one another and more understanding of opposing viewpoints. My heartfelt sympathy and condolences to everyone fortunate enough to know her. I know how painful her loss is to us all; she will be sorely missed.
