Actually i was talking about Martti Haavio´s book about Väinämöinen.Väinämöinen is very common character in finnish folklore generally and one of the main characters in Kalevala.

That's awesome! I just got back from running in the woods while blasting this song. Do you have any books or myths you can recommend for me to read? I love reading about history battles and viking mythology. A book i would reccomend from my home country is the Shahnameh (Kings Letters) amazing book of myth/folklore/and fact..

Sounds awesome :) Hey yea, I`ve read alot of books in the area, but they are mostly informative books about Norse Mythology, and all its great "stories" from the life of the gods. If you can find books about the adventures of "aesene", then you`re good. May you walk with Odin too brother. One day you will be an Einherjer at the longtable of Valhalla!

I think it's great when americans realize how cool european epic/wiking/pagan metal is. Im from Norway but currently living in the US. And I have to say.. there's many things thats better in the US, but the metal is not one of them :) where in the states are u from?

Heheh! I will, friend! Its called "fleinsopp" in Norwegian, and it actually grows a little of it just a few kilometers from here! I have not tried it, but I know some who have and it gives some crazy hallucinations.. haha ;) Hail Odin! :D

Hey is that true? I was watching something on the history channel about how vikings may have ate this mushroom which gave them euphoric feelings. This was the reason why they were absolutly fearless. Studies also showed that the mushrooms will give you an upset stomach, so the vikings fearlessness was due to their warrior spirit and the fact that Odin was protecting them. not mushrooms :)
