  • -_- And the solo has a piano...ugh damn...Oh well

  • Comment removed

  • i played that solo when i was in 5th grade...... but good job.

  • duuhhh.. ur fat.

  • Pretty goodidk if it matters if u play with the sax between ur legs ir not but whatever. I played this about a year ago when i was 14, and i Almost got to this speed. So ever all good job

  • do not play with te sax between your legs!! it doesnt work did booth but next to you is alwast better;)

but for the next time try to play the piece standing its better for your breathing.

and work on your tone and breating!

but its a very nice piece!!

  • @rudyboy1408 i beg to differ, when the saxophone is at your side, your embouchure can get weak and breathing is always difficult...when you're sitting down. Saxophonists should have their saxophones at their side when they stand up. But sitting down, for best tone and embouchure, have the sax between your legs.

  • @nfran227 Im sorry, in my reaction i ment play with the sax between your legs, thats better. im sorry:$ you play with the sax next to you but should do it with the sax between your legs. Because then you are sitting more in a straight position and you can breath low easier. but thats what you said yourself;)

  • not bad.....could use a little bit articulation and you needed some work on your tone

  • You did well. I don't recommend playing with the saxophone between your legs. Just practice like you are performing now. It was probably just some stage fright that made you make those mistakes that you made. Keep going at it. You will get better.

  • try to hold your Sax between your legs. it will help a LOT. Trust me.

  • all the comments below pretty much say evrything, work on yout tone, more dynamics, and hold your sax between your legs would help greatly, its helped me,

  • try to learn how to control your tone

  • sitting with the sax between your legs would help your tone greatly, and I didn't really hear any dynamics in the piece.

  • sorry but your tone needs alot of work. this is why people call us saxophonists lawnmowers

  • agreed

  • Dear young musician,

I enjoyed listening to your performance,

however I would like to see you sit with the saxophone in between your legs, this helps me greatly and makes a big diffrence. Keep working on your tone, it is still a bit crazy. I would love to see more dynamics!!! MORE FORTE, more piano, and work on the staccato on the 16th note!!

    Good job!

  • is this a high school student? I dunno but this is a terrible job from my own ears, if this is a middle school student, I understand, but the tone is really...not pleasant to listen to, the technique is better than the tone is what I'll say

  • you made all-state?

  • hey im preparing this piece now for NW Ohio's Honors band

this is our audition piece i hope i get in

good job on this my only thing i would have to say about this is that my director likes for me to use a sharper staccato on the 16th note runs but you did well

  • nice job, u wanna duet sometime hun?

  • I won't say anything too harsh, but . . . Try again.

  • really good with fingers

i dont know if its just me, but u slowed down

  • Great job! I thought you did very good :-)

  • dont listen to BlueOctane....your amazing....they are just jealous of your skills

  • Blue0ctane was jsut giving her advice chill out.

  • i really like it! she´s a great and young (!!!) saxophonplayer!!!

  • i really like it! she´s a great and young(!!!) saxophonplayer!!!

  • 1. Your tone is TERRIBLE for a classical setting.

    2. You tongue too hard.

Work on both of those, PLEASE. Besides that it was good.

  • you did a wonderful job. Just some pointers... try to keep your fingers closer to the keys, not a big deal but will improve technique... also try to keep the tips of your fingers on the edges of the pearls that way you can get quicker movement out of them... and also to help with the embouchure, I would just suggest to think about warm air, and practice your octaves/overtone series for added tone quality control... sorry im rambling, but very nice job. What kind of sax & mouthpiece were they?

  • Not bad at all. Ive been playing the sax for about 7 years now and prefer classical and baroque style music so much more over the jazz. The only trouble I have when playing allegro pieces is tounging the semi quavers where needed as I can never go very fast and get the movement of my fingers moving in time with my tongue so I end up slurring most of the semi quavers. Overall a nice performance anyway.

  • Just trying to help, you may want to try and play with it in between your legs. The alto and soprano are the only ones that are small enough to where you can and it makes your tone a little better. Also you may want to raise your music stand a little your next is bent down so it limits your air flow

  • That was really good! I'm playing next year on Alto Sax and now I know how it's supposed to sound! You did an awesome job too! The parts I think are hard were a no-brainer to you! lol Once again awesome job and thanks! ^.^

  • very very good, i'm supposed to play this for my wind ensemble try out music, but i have no idea how i'm going to do it, it's taken me months to get through it at least once, and even when i get through it it's really rough, very good job

  • Well done! Just work on refining the tone(learning vibrato will help immensely) and lightening the articulation.

  • Hmmm..nice. I started playing alto sax a year ago. I have also played clarinet for five and a half years before and I still do. Looks like you have got a loooonnnnnng way to go.....

  • very nice job...im doing this song for an audition and didnt even know where to start, but this video really helped me get a feel for it...nice job!

  • Technique was fine, but it sounds like you're having some embouchure problems.

All in all, it was pretty good.

  • Not bad, kid. This is a challenging college piece and you did well with the phrasing. Try work on a lighter tongue so that you don't have to work so hard producing a sound on your instrument. Remember, air is a woodwind musician's best friend, so inhale as much as you need to produce a full sound on your horn. Both your tongue and fingers must follow each other, and the tip of your tongue is the center of your time. You're learning and I hope this helps. Good job executing this movement.

  • Laverne86: this is not, by any means, a challenging college piece, as Notanemokid2551 said.

  • yeah well try to do wht i have to do for allstate and play it at quarter note = 112. then u can talk about it not bein hard

  • I've played this at that tempo for competition. It's not hard. I got straight 1's.

  • do you have ne pointers for me to help speed up my tempo? i practice, but the thing that gets me is the tonguing of the staccatos. do u have ne tonguing exercises that can help me. plz? they would be very appreciated.

  • Find a comfortable tempo. Tongue four beats as quarter notes (4 notes), tongue four beats as eighth notes (8 notes), tongue four beats as triplets (12 notes), tongue four beats as sixteenth notes (16 notes), tongue four beats as tuplets of 5 (20 notes), and then go back down.

For added effect, do this up and down a scale. It takes a long time, but it's worth it.

  • thank you soo much for your tip. i will try that the next time i play, which will be in like an hour lol. i cant thank you enough.

  • Yeah, yeah, you could suck my dick.

  • ok if thats how you feel about it. thanks neway

  • Very good!

  • I played this a couple years back. It's a fun piece to play. Great job on it... I think you should light up on the tounging a bit though. It sounds kind of harsh for a Handel piece.

  • Oh, and by the way, good job. I thought you did a really nice job.

  • Hehe.. I just started working on this piece today on my tuba. I had to choose some piece to audition for orchestra, but everything for tuba was too easy and boring, so I had to borrow my friend's violin book.

  • Sweet, I've been working on this solo for some time now, and I think the second movement is the best one. You did a pretty good job with it.

  • Some advice? try making an OOOOO shape with ur mouth while playing....and learn vibrato....besides.....it was AWESOME!!!

  • It's nice.. some tone and breathing issues though. Do you know how to do vibrato? That would sound really nice on that low note you hold out. But good job.

  • this inspires me to do this solo next year

    :)
