It's not about becoming defeated. It's not about saying "fuck it". It's really very simple. It's about being happy. You say what's the point? To be happy. To be fulfilled. If becoming spiritually enlightened is your idea of torture, then it is your duty to be as ignorant as possible. It is about being you in the true sense. Life is not about fitting into someone else's view of what you should be, it is about fitting into your own skin. Look inward, not outward. Find your happiness, anywhere.
i am 24 and i've been living on my own now for 6 years and am trying to free myself from society on a daily basis... but the question is how to make a living away from society with no currency? i work at starbucks right now and i feel like i contradict the way i think feel and live on a daily basis... any advice? because i love to take care of myself and want to become a nutritionist.. but on more simple terms
@MrReleasePeace hey just remember Rome wasnt built over night, it going to take planning and hard work, you will get what you ultimately want, but dont forget its just a ride. Like Bill Hicks says, its just a ride.
@MrReleasePeace Imho you will never free yourself from society simply because of interdependence/butterfly effect. Even if you were 100% self sufficient you would still rely on society leaving you alone, or having brought you up to the point where you feel you can leave it. It's a trap. Switch one identity for another. Freedom is in you, not within or without society.
Blessings to the nonconformists, for they are the ones who advance societies for the better as they think outside the box. Conformists are usually boring and dumb, with their thinking confined into a very limited range. Conformists are pretty much capable only of repeating the same old dumb, damaging patterns of behavior within societies day in and day out, year in and year out. They play the rat race game and the only beings who love that game are rats. Oh, and conformists.
Life is ultimately meaningless with no point. However, I still latch onto things that I understand to be mere illusion, I suppose simply because I can. Whether I die tomorrow, or in 50 years, it means nothing. Reaching the mountain top, or living your entire life living in ignorance are one it the same.
What's the difference between every human being in history having become enlightened, or having not?
I suppose you'd have to believe in an afterlife to believe "this" life matters.
@AurynThePaladin The difference between becoming enlightened or not is whether you have to come back to this low level plane of existence or not. Believing this "3D physical reality" is all there is to it, is a total disservice to who you really are. And if you believe that you really are "your body" and "your brain" then yes, you will most likely have to keep coming back until you learn the truth. It's okay though, there is no right or wrong. Nothing truly dies - this is the grand illusion.
@BrewedStrange I believe that I am my mind, which is to say that which is conscious in me. My mind resides within my physical body, but is not limited to any one section. It is my full neural network working in conjunction with itself that produces that consciousness.
I also believe that I am made up of the atoms of millions of long past human beings (amongst other things), as atoms are simply recycled after one dies.
Are you suggesting there's something beyond what I've just said? What?
@AurynThePaladin You say: "my mind is what is conscious in me". How then are you conscious of your own mind and thoughts? You are the AWARENESS, the pure consciousness of sense perceptions, thoughts, emotions... which is the same to say that there is no "you", because again this is only a mental concept. And if there is no you, what is left? Existence. Life itself. The universe itself. The fact that you exist is the only absolute fact, isn't it? Only the dreamer is not a dream! [continuing...]:
@AurynThePaladin [continuation]: You also say that your mind is what produces consciousness. Well, your brain and neurons do store and provide you informations through neural connections, but, for example, when you imagine a sunset, is that picture in your brain? In your neurons? It's in your consciousness... Your mind is in your consciousness, your body is in your consiousness, the whole world, you see? Consciousness is BEYOND mind... It's your very Being. :)
@BrewedStrange oops i wrote a reply to this guy and i didnt see yours. I see my answer was inferior to yours and i wish i would have given him as good an explanation as you did.
@AurynThePaladin i see you have come to a more nihilistic part of your life. Life takes on subjective meaning when you start playing games. Thats what life is all about man!! play games and then stop playing for a while so you can remember its only a game and then play a different one. You dont have to agree with me im just trying to help man.
@AurynThePaladin Corporeal life will never last forever. The goal of corporeal life is to overcome the temptations that earth (a world far from spiritual advancement) brings to you. Your spirit will never cease to exist. Spirit is everything. You create your own happiness, pain, fear, love, ect.. the True goal of everyone is to become spiritually enlightened and to progress in every corporeal existence through the path of God.God has many different names on earth but ultimately is everything.
@RakshasaCat That's a logical fallacy, to apply meaning simply because something exists. There's no reason something needs to have a meaning simply because it exits. We can give it a definition, but not meaning. There is no such thing as objective meaning, merely subjective, which is to say that meaning is just a term we give to something to create a purpose for its existence. We are the universe, thinking about itself, the meaning of which is no meaning at all.
@AurynThePaladin what a horribly ignorant, inaccurate, nihilist, statement. Its a shame. I'm sure your a nice guy but if you were to expand your consciousness you would know that there is more to this existence than what your 5 senses allude you to. I beg that you try and change your perspective, life is anything but meaningless.
@heyassmanx It's easy to say there's more to existence than just existing for a short time with a consciousness, but what is the 'more' you speak of. People seem to think that 'because I am alive, my life must have purpose and meaning', neither of which is apparent in itself. Everyone subjectively gives their lives meaning, through any number of processes, most here would seek a sense of enlightenment, or freeing of the constraints of conventional thought, but why? Please explain.
@AurynThePaladin the "more" are the intangibles. Go beyond your 5 senses, 3 dimensional existence and you will see this. Of course there seems no more to life to you, because your fixed on that thinking paradigm. Your living in a tiny box. A limited perception within infinite dimensions. Whether it be psychedelics or mediation that takes you there, one day (if you choose to) you will see there is more that just what you experience with your senses
@heyassmanx These "intangibles" you speak of, what are they, even as simply an expression of thought please explain. You make it sound like there's 'something else' that most people are missing out on. I certainly understand there are states of mind that allow for enormous imagination potential, a place many deep thinkers often dwell, but it means nothing to dwell there. Perhaps you have not been to the abyss yet, but once you do you will surely understand my point.
@AurynThePaladin Thats the thing, those intangibles are indescribable and beyond most human capacity. You have not been to that place so it is hard for you to understand and I cannot blame you for that, but it is foolish to assume you have mastered all that there is to know about existence, which is what your doing by assuming that it all is meaningless. Even the most learned of philosophers and scholars will tell you there is a fountain of knowledge far beyond any human understanding
@simonk512 Please enlighten me to how I'm 'misled and confused'. Who/what misleads my thought train? How is my logical thought process misguided or inaccurate?
Everyone seems to be upset with what I'm saying, but nobody can orate any semblance of an argument that resides within objectivity.
Assume my entire memory has been wiped away and I asked you to explain why:
1) Things in life matter
2) What's the purpose of personal/mass human development
@AurynThePaladin If you deny that life has meaning, then you deny the greatest ability you have: consciousness. Conscious beings have the ability to assign meaning to the world around themselves. To deny this is to deny the fundamental underpinnings of humanity and morality. If this is your standpoint on the world, I would have a hard time calling you human.
@psychedellic420 yes but capialist-liberal philosophies later took over. SOCIAL darwinism is different from just darwinism, jesus, get a fucking grip you stoner.
I find it funny that almost everyone i know is worried about me because they think i don't seem to have an ambition. They say in that strange tone: "Why aren't you doing anything?" Meanwhile i think, i write, i read, i walk, i play guitar, surf the net, listen to music etc... I'm very happy that i don't owe or own anything. My ambition is to become and just BE a writer. I'm a Belgian guy, maybe its because of my culture that people like "me" aren't really popular. I just don't care for society.
@texasB666Hey bro Do yo thang man I respect you !!! but how do you get around?? dont you have a job or anything how do you earn your money?? one nation bro
@Maindrian5 One nation... UNDER THE GROOVE! :D Thanks for commenting. Well, to answer your question: Sometimes you got to have luck in this world i guess. Right now i'm actually intentionally unimployed, but winter is almost gone so i'm going to search for a half time job to earn some money so i can travel some more. I have a big family, lots of friends, girlfriends and live now back with my sister and mother. I sold some books but not enough to live off, but i will one day :) cheers
@psychedellic420 That's because you know so little. Jesus taught mercy, forgiveness and to turn the other cheek. He was a pacifist and the founder of humanitarianism of sorts. The opposite is mohammedan brutality, which we see in SaudiArabia and Iran.
If you seek the unchristian, atheist societ - move to China, or north korea.
Capitalism is social darwinism in essence. It is a religion of the false god called Market.
conformity has sucked for centuries and will continue to suck into the future, it's in our DNA by now. you need a strong mind and stronger will to resist and persist. the stigma of non-conformity is too much for most people to bear
Conformity will never die out... We, as human beings, will never stop feeding into it. We sometimes conform unconsciously. It takes willpower and an eye opener to realize that "while the crowd moves, your mind stays still."
"When you see your likeness, you rejoice. But when you see your images which came into being before you, and which neither die not become manifest, how much you will have to bear!" - Jesus
im telling you the "meek christian society" isnt a place. there are christians in those places too. furthermore, i dont have to leave whatever country you think i reside becasue of this "meek christian society." im simply stating that i think the christian society, which spans the space-time continuum, regardless of country, seems insecure about its beliefs
So in your wisdom we should not attempt to change or better where we come from, but instead run away so people like you can continue your stupidity? People with the ability of critical and logical thinking do precisely the opposite. We see an error and expose it while the weak (you) attempt to shut us up so your master does not become upset. You suggest that we leave because when you encounter a problem that's what you do...you ignore it...because you are a coward with no soul.
@songdiver omg, bullshit bob, you almost had me run over with arguments there... not. Watts describes a conformist capitalist society, not a christian one. Speaking of logic, you're the death fearing one who believes in an imaginary thing such as "the soul".
@OZDE32 Words like "the soul" are so subjective, pretty much like any other word, that I don't even bother arguing the, To some people, "soul" just means the mystery of consciousness to them. To others it means something else based off the experiences and cultural programming that's attached to the word for them.
The military have begun to get ready for entering the underground. First Los Alamos evacuated because of a created fire. Than Walter Reed hospital closes in Washington D.C. And than the last 'Shuttle mission' and the closing of NASA. In all over 25,000 american military not at work. Where are they going? And now two Illuminati sacrifices. Norway attacks and Amy Winehouse at age 27. To distract our attention. Date of Sept. world wide event seems to be accurate.
This man has the peculiar talent to round things up in a way that is so maginficent that - when someones has the ears to listen - one can repeatedly enjoy his outflow of words and never get bored by it. ... he's the real McCoy, isn't he? ... I am sorry for my enthusiasm, but I would even have the guts to call him a philosophic lifesaver haha ...
Who has the guts to break away from this society? This society is so materialistic and wasteful. So many are concerned about money and how they look. My goal is to live local , grow my own food, be happy, and surround myself with like minded individuals.
If you don´t join the game the game will go after you. Weak societies are conquered by strong ones - like American indigenous societies were conquered by old European ones. If you stay in your metaphorical mountain full of pot, reality - or the "game" - will soon climb it to bring you back. Society members sacrifice part of their liberties and "joy of life" to survive together. If you don´t work for the society, it seems reasonable that society will not like you. Just my opinion, peace.
@Timeofflux id say his premise is quite solid. did you hear his argument? besides in this democratic society of amerika how often are the manipulated masses actual interests applied into our government. our government makes all our laws and the masses go with it, either cause they dont care or their manipulated too, cause their in the game. get a job, gotta get cash materialistic bullshit. everyone is struggling except the minority that governs and reaps the most benefits of the game. no love.
I feel lucky most the time that I have little patience and concentration for stupidity and things that dont really make sense or aren't possible to explain in a reasonable fashion. It brings a lot of wordly pain and misery sometimes, not fitting in and all, but I think I would rather be as I am, a sad Socrates, than a happy pig. I would have missed so much if I were out there doing the things some people are doing, and by god waking up old and tired to nothingness.
another washing machine of thoughts, toying within the inner common sence of a idealistical mind, perfect a white credit card stamped free ride in the post and you'd be well on your way.but mean while in the outer reality, your a hungry mouse in a room with many that want the cheese too and there is not enought to go round as this is the game played by a few invisable cats, watching you toy with a hard sinthetic reality that benifits a few and the nautural reality that benifits.
govermental mainframes, poeple don't like them, the structure for order,it's like mother nature sculpturing the wind,it;s a cruel to be kind situation,it's a working model and it needs fixing, maintaining, and a little bit of modernization,it's a reflextion of BORN IN SINthetic is true a designed mode,l man made sinthetic, not natuaral but it a full¥ tested clock from millinear.and it dosnt like having to use think tanks to kidd you..
but some poeple test the system patiants and thats a fact.
@Lifayn Oh - I see the misconception. Allow me to try and help. This mountain is not physical. It is merely a place for us to observe from. We are not running away from something, we embracing authenticity and rejecting manipulation. So to you Lifayn I say, “What you’re doing is only a game. It’s ok, we’re not going to condemn you but it is only a game. And we up on this “mountain top” are watching you, we love you, we have compassion for you but excuses us please, we are not going to join.”
i get crap from my own SUPPOSED FAMILY for not having a phone not having a car not having a college degree. People that say they were your friends in school decide your not cool anymore without wearing a certain mask. When did love and community dissapear and this cess pool called capitalism appear?
Well as far as i can see those who says "this game is a bad thing, everybody is a slave, im gonna try to leave it" well these people are not really aware of the meaning of the word "game". And there is duality, they think that the big game and they are two different things and they have a choice because they are smg else than the others. So they try to run away, but of course they wont be able because of many things so they will suffer some more. :)
It seems in your reality that observing and running away are the same thing. One who chooses to distance him/herself is not "running away" but merely gaining an outside perspective that you cease to obtain through years of indoctrination. People on a "mountain," or a higher level of consciousness, have both inside and outside understanding while you only have one way of viewing the world. You also have no grasp of metaphor. I am on the mountain, but here with you at the same time.
same clothes is the monster fox crap. and look at guys i na bar. walk into a bar. they all look the same. tight collor prep shirt. spiked hair or short. crap like that. how many ppl drink tim hortons. how many ppl smoke. you ever ask someone who smokes why they do. they always say man i shouldnt hav started or i dont even know why i smoke. kinda funny when u think of everything
Yup, it's a game. And if you refuse to play you're the Devil. You're with us, or against us, but you CAN'T sit on the sidelines. If you do that, then you attract all the ire in the world upon yourself. Still, you have to know the rules by which it's played if you want to survive. ;)
This man always make sense to me! It is always a difficult choice to remove yourself from `the game`. You can instantly be classed as crazy or a loser from friends and family alike when you chose not to follow the path that others do. However it is also a good test of your own character and those around you. The simple life is the only one for me.
I've always felt like this now I know people feel the same way as me. I'm a 9th grade sutdent in a city that's mostly middle to upper class. Everyone and everything here is centered around "the game" I wish people could see how much better life could be if we stopped playing "the game" all my school does is tell me how much money I need how grades ALWAYS come first how I need to go to school and college and get a job just to be like everyone else, it gives me hope Im not alone I hate "the game"
@goregrindmonstrosity I feel for you... but it sure is nice knowing that there are other people who don't just want to be like everyone else. And I'm not talking about goths, or emos, but just another way of living, in my opinion a much more free way of living and thinking.
@Megaritz I was thinking this way in high school prior to listening to Alan Watts. Now at 22, I'm 3 years out of high school with no college education and many of my friends who have gone come to me and say "David, I think you made the best choice out of all the kids in our class." I was the only one who didn't go to school. I'm not miserable like them.
@DavidAMIs Wow man i cant believe i just read this paragraph from another human being. I am 24 and i didn't go to college straight out of high school. for u to even know and embrace Allen Watts at such a young age is inspirational.
@MrReleasePeace Funny enough, I'm now attending Warren Wilson College and if you know anything about the school you would think people would understand Mr. Watts here, but they don't. I'm an anomaly in a school that is itself an anomaly. It's pretty insane how so few people actually don't realize the truth to life.
@goregrindmonstrosity You have no idea how much that sounds like me. I'm a 10th grade student, and most everyone in my city is closed-minded, catholic/christian, and all very alike. Sometimes it seems like they never even try to think for themselves
This can only truly ocurr at death when the spirit leaves it flesh prison. yet until then to be happy one must stay in touc with their true self their sprirt and what goads and excites their spirit what edifys their spiritual selves, no matter what they have to do to survive on this earth to reamin happy they must never lose toch of their spiritual side.
This is ofte hrad to do in a materilistic world not suited for cellestial existence thus is why many use drugs to feel spirtiually free.
Man is not made to confrom man is a spirit in a material body but he is nonetheless a spirit and spirts, cellestial beings, do not rise at certain times, go to work and come back home at a certain time. it is this incongreuncy that keeps many in a state of quiet desperation, a quiet waiting a longing for some kind of releif. well, incidentally, that releif is the want of liberation from their earhtly fleshly bodies and from mundane corporeal constarints.
As a non conformist, words like this bring great comfort. So true about an insecure society being adamant that others must conform too. They are indeed 'so unsure of the validity of their game rules that they say everyone must play'. I think its because of two main things, 1 being discontentment with their own lives and they hate the idea of others finding something more meaningful and 2, because people are majorly conditionined even to the extent they dont realise they are. Great vid
Has anyone here left the US and relocated to either Thailand or the Philippines? What's it like? I have a dream of someday breaking free from this American life and moving to one of those countries. Today in America I cannot retire, and probably won't until I'm 70, but in those countries "I think" I could probably semi-retire today, and finally work on the things I want to work on...read...write books and articles...blog...stock trade...make music...write poetry...exercise when I want to and no
It is difficult to live in both world but here is the joy. We are now masters (gods) in our own universe’s. Yes a lot of people around us are blind, ignorant, selfish etc. etc. but that’s OK. Stay focused on the “miracles” that you can perform on your own life and maybe on the lives of others. AND, believe it or not I think, NO, I know our numbers are growing. The internet is a wonderful thing when it is used wisely. Every day, more & more humans are becoming unplugged.
If you want to stop playing the game just let go of everything. It is apparent that many of you have not done that. Worrying about paying the rent and other things comes from the way society conditions us. When you watch a bird doing its thing do you think that bird worries about any of the things that we worry about? If you let go and live in the moment you will find out what life is about. If you don't do that you will never know.
@blkcpdconure And in a western society you'd probaby starve in the moment too. It's truly a great idea but it's not workable here. People do not take kindly to those in need.
@blkcpdconure Lol, I understand the notion, truly I do.
It's incredibly hard to 'break out', I did it once and it was the happiest time of my life - I'm back to my old ways now though and it's killing me :(. It's so hard to keep at it, especially when people are constantly telling you "you're weird, be more like us" and "you're useless to us if you don't participate".....
Why not live the way most people do once you have realized the truth, the divine, the holy,... ? I say 'play the game' bu tplay it from another plane so to speak.
John gatto taylor- 'Dumbing US down' is a recommened read if you want to know and have proof on how schools are structured to keep us in the dark.
The so called drop-outs are in a sence the intelligent class as they can re-teach them selfs in this age of infomation, but the kids that knuckle down at school have been easliy programmed and and spent there life chasing money and other material goods.
Seek the Spiritaul way of life and your life will be prefect.
Contemplation only goes so far. Action, or activity, is the final step. The Universe is activity. Reality is activity. Inactivity is death. Making the decision to play your own game, to step to your own beat, is one of the simplest, most elegant, and most powerful actions you can make. Props to Watts.

I find it hard to live by the rules. The goals of people around me seem....so empty? It's one distraction after another. Achieve one thing, look for another and chase after that as well. Just a never ending cycle. I do my best, living more simply with each passing day and learning to be appreciative of the world around me and it's a little liberating. Im struggling with all the social pressures to "conform" when I feel my paths lay in other directions. A sense of community helps tremendously!
Ive been an outcast for a year now. its difficult to be one with myself living in a city. Everywhere you look people are playing the game. Its nonsense. If we stopped playing we would eliminate almost all the problems. I find myself depressed most of the time but once you awaken theres no going back if you really love yourself. because you wont allow yourself to betray yourself.
@vJpRIzM Stay strong friend and keep true to yourself. It can be depressing as we observe ourselves waddling along with the "heard" in traffic, or the supermarket etc. Never stop learning and empowering yourself with information in all areas. As many evils as there are out their to entrap us in the game, there are equal amounts of promise to liberate us from it. Listen your heart and keep your mind endlessly open to everything. Thanks for your comment!
@vJpRIzM I know what you mean, when I went off to college I was astounded by all the bullshit and mass conforming...the way everyone was so lost but so demanding that you be stupid with them in their games and norms.I got super depressed on and off for months. I found meditating under trees helped me greatly. If possible I would recommend camping alone in the forest for a few days.
@vJpRIzM same here, its hard to be happy sometimes like everyone eles, cuz open minded people see all the bullshit in the world, and makes us sad sometimes, that nobody eles sees it. i feel you. but yeah id rather be here, then there.
@vJpRIzM You have just described my situation there too. I know how you are feeling, It's not an easy way. Hopefully we'll reach a point where enough people are awake that we - those who look around us and see the insanity everywhere - will no longer be the minority. It's sad though, here in the UK most are still asleep.
@vJpRIzM excuse me, but what else would you do in this world, besides playing? there isn't much you could do as an alternative. Isn't that, what Alan Watts is always talking about? that you should see your live more like a game (or as a game) and don't take it really seriously?
@DmitrijJazunov . The current game is dehumanizing, it values possessions, it insults you with propaganda, it works to keep you under control and dis-empowered and aims to keep "business as usual on the menu". I have no problem with living life as a game, but the current game puts you in chains instead of empowering each other towards some type of planetary progress or higher consciousness. To play the current game is to turn your back on your humanity and give in to ignorance.
I understand where you're coming from but consider this. If 'what you were doing before' was 'playing the game' then you were never NOT really and truly and 'outcast' were you? No, you were just deceieving your 'self'. Don't feel depressed, this is reality. You are reality!
you're describing my state, i dropped out of college in my final year because i realise i don't want to do what i study so why bother. am living in city and find myself depressed, mostly because of lonelynes.i stoped going out and drinking and such enterteining behaviour, friends were gone.have two friends now and girlfriend but they also have hard time understanding me.i often go alone in the nature where no one is judgmental.me and my dog and mother Earth. There is no turning back now
Dude, I think I might be going through the same stage... I thought it was just my blatant rebellion, but I guess I too am starting to realise that it's all just a game. I'm now in my 1st year of college, having already changed my study trajectory and it's absolutely dreadful. I hate it and yet I feel the inescapable obligation to conform to it, to conform to this ever lasting artificial cycle for the sake of self-preservation. It's funny and yet sad, but I used to enjoy the game...
@vJpRIzM i am confused by your contradiction and quite oblique view of society. Perhaps you are what the establishment wants you to be and nothing else. If your only escape is being depressed that you will lie dormant and become a doormat for everyone else that you have defined their role to be. Love doesnt mean having an inevitable destiny in society, on the contrary, by that power you can create as much as your imagination will allow it. Embrace change through thinking and action.
@maximon72 I am nobodies doormat friend. I am an outcast, free from the ideological cages the people live by. You have to live in America to understand.
@vJpRIzM I dont think you can define the term America. I dont think you can define what an outcast is considering that your purspose in society is to be seen as a martyr. wake up! the world is full of them. we dont need rejectionists, we need positive doers. Disatachment is nothing but a cowards way out of responsability. Whats that, you may add, well. its something to do with what unites all of us regardless of where you are from in this world. its called the human race.
@maximon72 I do my part to help. Rejection-ism is probably the strongest way to revolutionize. After all, its the people who continue this system of life. If overnight all the people decided to reject the current system and create a new better, world for all of humanity it would be the strongest. I am a positive doer, i haven't given up on my humanity but i have given up on their silly game. The best example I can give is to not participate in the destructive behaviors they choose to continue.
@maximon72 You are an idiot if you think protests and movements are going to change anything. They do that all around the world, nothings changed. Its the people that neglect the system, people that think, stay off the grid and dont take part in the system, those are the people they hate. Thats what they dont want non-compliance, because that breeds REAL revolution and it makes the game harder for them to control.
@vJpRIzM if you narrow it down to that, then i think you have a very short visioned perspective of action. Change occurs within. Sure, you can take a do nothing - which is something meaninful to you...like limbo or purgatory...or you can do something to put weight into the positive side of the scale. Your choice Mr Fence sitter.

AurynThePaladin 5 months ago
@AurynThePaladin The difference between becoming enlightened or not is whether you have to come back to this low level plane of existence or not. Believing this "3D physical reality" is all there is to it, is a total disservice to who you really are. And if you believe that you really are "your body" and "your brain" then yes, you will most likely have to keep coming back until you learn the truth. It's okay though, there is no right or wrong. Nothing truly dies - this is the grand illusion.
BrewedStrange 5 months ago 18
@BrewedStrange I believe that I am my mind, which is to say that which is conscious in me. My mind resides within my physical body, but is not limited to any one section. It is my full neural network working in conjunction with itself that produces that consciousness.
I also believe that I am made up of the atoms of millions of long past human beings (amongst other things), as atoms are simply recycled after one dies.
Are you suggesting there's something beyond what I've just said? What?
AurynThePaladin 4 months ago
@AurynThePaladin You say: "my mind is what is conscious in me". How then are you conscious of your own mind and thoughts? You are the AWARENESS, the pure consciousness of sense perceptions, thoughts, emotions... which is the same to say that there is no "you", because again this is only a mental concept. And if there is no you, what is left? Existence. Life itself. The universe itself. The fact that you exist is the only absolute fact, isn't it? Only the dreamer is not a dream! [continuing...]:
11010646 4 months ago
@AurynThePaladin [continuation]: You also say that your mind is what produces consciousness. Well, your brain and neurons do store and provide you informations through neural connections, but, for example, when you imagine a sunset, is that picture in your brain? In your neurons? It's in your consciousness... Your mind is in your consciousness, your body is in your consiousness, the whole world, you see? Consciousness is BEYOND mind... It's your very Being. :)
I hope I've helped you someway!

@AurynThePaladin i see you have come to a more nihilistic part of your life. Life takes on subjective meaning when you start playing games. Thats what life is all about man!! play games and then stop playing for a while so you can remember its only a game and then play a different one. You dont have to agree with me im just trying to help man.
norskemann1 2 months ago
@AurynThePaladin Corporeal life will never last forever. The goal of corporeal life is to overcome the temptations that earth (a world far from spiritual advancement) brings to you. Your spirit will never cease to exist. Spirit is everything. You create your own happiness, pain, fear, love, ect.. the True goal of everyone is to become spiritually enlightened and to progress in every corporeal existence through the path of God.God has many different names on earth but ultimately is everything.

@AurynThePaladin Something can only be meaningless if there exists something that has meaning. And what in this universe has meaning?
RakshasaCat 4 weeks ago
@RakshasaCat That's a logical fallacy, to apply meaning simply because something exists. There's no reason something needs to have a meaning simply because it exits. We can give it a definition, but not meaning. There is no such thing as objective meaning, merely subjective, which is to say that meaning is just a term we give to something to create a purpose for its existence. We are the universe, thinking about itself, the meaning of which is no meaning at all.
AurynThePaladin 3 weeks ago
@AurynThePaladin what a horribly ignorant, inaccurate, nihilist, statement. Its a shame. I'm sure your a nice guy but if you were to expand your consciousness you would know that there is more to this existence than what your 5 senses allude you to. I beg that you try and change your perspective, life is anything but meaningless.
heyassmanx 3 weeks ago
@heyassmanx It's easy to say there's more to existence than just existing for a short time with a consciousness, but what is the 'more' you speak of. People seem to think that 'because I am alive, my life must have purpose and meaning', neither of which is apparent in itself. Everyone subjectively gives their lives meaning, through any number of processes, most here would seek a sense of enlightenment, or freeing of the constraints of conventional thought, but why? Please explain.
AurynThePaladin 3 weeks ago
@AurynThePaladin the "more" are the intangibles. Go beyond your 5 senses, 3 dimensional existence and you will see this. Of course there seems no more to life to you, because your fixed on that thinking paradigm. Your living in a tiny box. A limited perception within infinite dimensions. Whether it be psychedelics or mediation that takes you there, one day (if you choose to) you will see there is more that just what you experience with your senses
heyassmanx 2 weeks ago
@heyassmanx These "intangibles" you speak of, what are they, even as simply an expression of thought please explain. You make it sound like there's 'something else' that most people are missing out on. I certainly understand there are states of mind that allow for enormous imagination potential, a place many deep thinkers often dwell, but it means nothing to dwell there. Perhaps you have not been to the abyss yet, but once you do you will surely understand my point.
AurynThePaladin 2 weeks ago
@AurynThePaladin Thats the thing, those intangibles are indescribable and beyond most human capacity. You have not been to that place so it is hard for you to understand and I cannot blame you for that, but it is foolish to assume you have mastered all that there is to know about existence, which is what your doing by assuming that it all is meaningless. Even the most learned of philosophers and scholars will tell you there is a fountain of knowledge far beyond any human understanding
heyassmanx 2 weeks ago
@AurynThePaladin lol are you a troll or just incredibly sadly actually that misled and confused?
simonk512 2 weeks ago
@simonk512 Please enlighten me to how I'm 'misled and confused'. Who/what misleads my thought train? How is my logical thought process misguided or inaccurate?
Everyone seems to be upset with what I'm saying, but nobody can orate any semblance of an argument that resides within objectivity.
Assume my entire memory has been wiped away and I asked you to explain why:
1) Things in life matter
2) What's the purpose of personal/mass human development
3) How you arrived at those answers.
AurynThePaladin 2 weeks ago
@AurynThePaladin If you deny that life has meaning, then you deny the greatest ability you have: consciousness. Conscious beings have the ability to assign meaning to the world around themselves. To deny this is to deny the fundamental underpinnings of humanity and morality. If this is your standpoint on the world, I would have a hard time calling you human.

@psychedellic420 That's because you know so little. Jesus taught mercy, forgiveness and to turn the other cheek. He was a pacifist and the founder of humanitarianism of sorts. The opposite is mohammedan brutality, which we see in SaudiArabia and Iran.

Lifayn 9 months ago
@Lifayn

Great vid

I find myself depressed most of the time but once you awaken theres no going back if you really love yourself. because you wont allow yourself to betray yourself.
vJpRIzM 1 year ago 93
@vJpRIzM Stay strong friend and keep true to yourself. It can be depressing as we observe ourselves waddling along with the "heard" in traffic, or the supermarket etc. Never stop learning and empowering yourself with information in all areas. As many evils as there are out their to entrap us in the game, there are equal amounts of promise to liberate us from it. Listen your heart and keep your mind endlessly open to everything. Thanks for your comment!

@BrewedStrange Wait, how are you on a computer if you're 'living free'.

@vJpRIzM try meditating, instead of feeling depressed that you are different, it all becomes a great joy =p

@vJpRIzM excuse me, but what else would you do in this world, besides playing? there isn't much you could do as an alternative. Isn't that, what Alan Watts is always talking about? that you should see your live more like a game (or as a game) and don't take it really seriously?
DmitrijJazunov 1 year ago
@DmitrijJazunov . The current game is dehumanizing, it values possessions, it insults you with propaganda, it works to keep you under control and dis-empowered and aims to keep "business as usual on the menu". I have no problem with living life as a game, but the current game puts you in chains instead of empowering each other towards some type of planetary progress or higher consciousness. To play the current game is to turn your back on your humanity and give in to ignorance.
vJpRIzM 1 year ago
@vJpRIzM if you put it in that way...yes, you're right. I've noticed this ofcause, too. I guess, I missunderstood something. I'm sorry.

@vJpRIzM Then how would you eat if you do not play. The western world is NOT going to help you.

@Sinke97

Embrace change through thinking and action.
maximon72 10 months ago
@maximon72 I am nobodies doormat friend. I am an outcast, free from the ideological cages the people live by. You have to live in America to understand.
vJpRIzM 10 months ago
@vJpRIzM I dont think you can define the term America. I dont think you can define what an outcast is considering that your purspose in society is to be seen as a martyr. wake up! the world is full of them. we dont need rejectionists, we need positive doers. Disatachment is nothing but a cowards way out of responsability. Whats that, you may add, well. its something to do with what unites all of us regardless of where you are from in this world. its called the human race.
maximon72 10 months ago
@maximon72 I do my part to help. Rejection-ism is probably the strongest way to revolutionize. After all, its the people who continue this system of life. If overnight all the people decided to reject the current system and create a new better, world for all of humanity it would be the strongest. I am a positive doer, i haven't given up on my humanity but i have given up on their silly game. The best example I can give is to not participate in the destructive behaviors they choose to continue.
vJpRIzM 10 months ago
@vJpRIzM in short - you are a fence sitter.
maximon72 10 months ago
@maximon72 You are an idiot if you think protests and movements are going to change anything. They do that all around the world, nothings changed. Its the people that neglect the system, people that think, stay off the grid and dont take part in the system, those are the people they hate. Thats what they dont want non-compliance, because that breeds REAL revolution and it makes the game harder for them to control.
vJpRIzM 10 months ago
@vJpRIzM if you narrow it down to that, then i think you have a very short visioned perspective of action. Change occurs within. Sure, you can take a do nothing - which is something meaninful to you...like limbo or purgatory...or you can do something to put weight into the positive side of the scale. Your choice Mr Fence sitter.
