I have never before liked a soundtrack well enough to buy it. The music to Pirates broke my streak. It's to most thrilling and exciting music I've ever heard in a movie, and actually did what it's supposed to which is to enhance the action and atmosphere of the scenes. Hans, please keep writing!

I haven't bought them yet, but I promise you, I will. They have everything, happy bouncy-songs that makes your hart beat the beat of the song (thinking of "Up is Down") to sad songs of anger, power and anguish. (Thinking of Davy Jones Theme)

Yes he does! Just imagine that movie without ANY music or the wrong music (like some 70's movies, yuck) . It wouldn't have nearly the impact it does. I remember on the Special Features part of the 1st Pirates movie, the director being rather dismissive about the soundtrack music. He didn't go into details, but it sounded like there was some difficulty about the writing of the music -- well, regardless of the problems, it turned out GREAT!

hans zimmer is the best composer of all, beating danny elfman, steve jablonsky and other great composer, many of his wonderful songs are used in such a big hit movies like pearl harbor, the last samurai, transformer (although that is done bysteve jablonsky itself), and PotC trilogy
