wow I remember Mr. Dressup when I was a kid . I used to watch that show all the time when I was a kid. I even had the chance one year to see him preform a live show at a high school in Youngstown, NY...........................
i watched this with my grandma <3 :) when I was little but i wasn't born in this year i was born in 1992 now i'm 19 I was about 9 to 12 watching this when i was home schooled so i watched this with memere ahh the good memories :) <3
the kids all called me Casey as a kid 'cos of my red mop and freckles. This show was genius, and I credit it for whatever positive aspects exist in my character.
@etonks I saw an interview on the old late night show with Conan and he just had his son and said his name was Finnegan from the show. Conans reply was your son was born a drunk with a name like Finnegan McCormack. it was funny they both laughed :P
When I heard of his passing in 2001 I cried like a baby (I was 16 at the time!) He was a part of my childhood along with Mr. Rogers. This makes me reminisce the old days.
watcing this brings back so many memories of coming home after morning kindergarten and watching this...i had tapes and tapes of this guy ...my dad was crazy about taping stuff off the tv so i had so many different episodes ....miss watching this and mr rogers.."wont cha' be my neigbor"
somehow this was so comforting to me. I watched Mr D when i was young, my favorite show, now years later watching this just makes me wish I was a kid again :')
The first minute made me laugh. If today he said he was going to have a play in his room with a little girl and his aunt watching he would be in jail! Why has the world become so scared, I'll never forget shows like this that teach you values.
I used to do all the art he would do right after the show. My mother would say I was making "Mishy Mashy" basically a big mess, but I didn't care! Mr.Dressup rocked the world!
OMG!!! the care free days of childhood. i remember getting up watching TV early morning. MR. Dressup, Fred Penners, sesames street. Then my sister would watch degrassi, wonder years, family values, and can't remember the other one...but yea good old times :)
I used to love this show so much it was insane. I remember when Casie and Finnegan left the show because the puppeteer retired, I cried for days on end!
@sicilianotoronto I guess she owned those characters because she had developed them when the show started. Who knows? Most people say the puppets went downhill after that puppeteer was gone. They changed all of the guest puppets after as well.
Can you imagine what would happen now if they had a tv show with a middle aged man on a bed talking to children? Why can't tv be as innocent as it once was? I LOVE MR DRESSUP! To be young again, eh?

shortrocker13,
Not so sure that remark was appropriate given that most of the other posters were taken back to their childhoods.

We used to watch Mr. Dressup in Lake Placid NY way back when. How peaceful serene and real Mr Dressup was! <3
