  • shortrocker13,

Not so sure that remark was appropriate given that most of the other posters were taken back to their childhoods.

  • this is scary...It starts off with him in a bedroom >.<

  • NNOOSSTTAALLGGIIAA

  • Canada had alot of kids shows during this time.

  • the kids all called me Casey as a kid 'cos of my red mop and freckles. This show was genius, and I credit it for whatever positive aspects exist in my character.

  • I saw an interview with Eric McCormack a few years ago. he said he named his son "Finnegan" After...Finnegan the dog!!! How awesome.

We used to watch Mr. Dressup in Lake Placid NY way back when. How peaceful serene and real Mr Dressup was! <3

  • @etonks I saw an interview on the old late night show with Conan and he just had his son and said his name was Finnegan from the show. Conans reply was your son was born a drunk with a name like Finnegan McCormack. it was funny they both laughed :P

  • When I heard of his passing in 2001 I cried like a baby (I was 16 at the time!) He was a part of my childhood along with Mr. Rogers. This makes me reminisce the old days.

  • I miss Mr Dressup

  • my favorite show as a kid.

  • watcing this brings back so many memories of coming home after morning kindergarten and watching this...i had tapes and tapes of this guy ...my dad was crazy about taping stuff off the tv so i had so many different episodes ....miss watching this and mr rogers.."wont cha' be my neigbor"

  • somehow this was so comforting to me. I watched Mr D when i was young, my favorite show, now years later watching this just makes me wish I was a kid again :')

  • I'm only sixteen and I remember seeing this as a rerun when I was like... four. <3

  • My sister and I grew up on this show. Nearly 40 years later, thinking this dude seems really creepy!

  • Mr. Rogers rules

  • Why did i randomly search up mr.dressup. wow i must really miss my childhood :S

  • still remember watching this before I started school. weird

  • I want to stay in Mr. Dress Ups spare bedroom. Finnegan would cuddle up close and Casey and I would build a fort!

  • Mr. dressup = Best childrens TV show from my childhood.

  • As soon as I saw the chest open, my brain popped open and I was like "WTF?! How could I have forgotten this?!" Nostalgia!!!! <3

  • Oh god I loved this show as a kid, and managed to remember the theme tune about 20 years later

  • Mr dress up was the shiznat back in the day lol.. also bananas in pajamas.. dudley the dragon... polka dot shorts..

  • The first minute made me laugh. If today he said he was going to have a play in his room with a little girl and his aunt watching he would be in jail! Why has the world become so scared, I'll never forget shows like this that teach you values.

  • yes i actually NEVER saw that room before :o thank you for this mr dressup

  • @KirbyHanchar: forget what i said, i remember the story book and that sofa

  • OMFG...WHOM EVER PUT THIS YOU TUBE...I LOVE YOU LONG TIME....

    PUBLIC TELEVISION STILL ROCKS!!!!

  • OMG THIS BROUGHT BACK SO MANY MEMORIES FOR ME :'D

  • I remember this show so vaguely, and how much I loved it

  • RIP :( I have a cassette with you singing with another fellow, only cassette I still play

  • Dr. Dressup VS mr. Rogers in a fight?

  • tint his shades, give him a black hat, let him drive an old fire bird and old bandit is back!

  • Nah...stahl...giah...

  • The jack in the box song, i remember that.

Jack in the box is out of sight

and no one knows that he's there

till someone comes and pushes the button/latch

and up he pops in the air!

  • i love mr.dress up

  • holy crap the jack in the box screeamed as ir went away

  • @Dooku64 and its eyes jiggled and it smiled... D:

  • Thank you - such great childhood memories !

  • You have to be a genius to come up with something different, 5 days a week, for 30 years.. you did it Mr.Dressup, Cheers

  • this clip makes me so happy. thank you for posting it. mr dressup what a happy part of my childhood.

  • I used to do all the art he would do right after the show. My mother would say I was making "Mishy Mashy" basically a big mess, but I didn't care! Mr.Dressup rocked the world!

  • i remember these kind of episodes (f. Casey + Finnegan) (aka the Trading Post

    owned by the alligator)...

before, the format got changed, with the likes of Chester the Crow, Truffles, Annie, and Alex + Mr. Rodney Raccoon!

  • OMG!!! the care free days of childhood. i remember getting up watching TV early morning. MR. Dressup, Fred Penners, sesames street. Then my sister would watch degrassi, wonder years, family values, and can't remember the other one...but yea good old times :)

  • I remember my grandma and my brother and I would watch this. Its sad he is gone. We all miss you Mr. Dress Up you left us too soon :'(

  • this and sesame street were what kids grew up on when i was little not shit like today

  • Mr. Dressup looked just like my pappa :D

  • mr dressup was sick... I use to watch him with my little cousin in 1994-5.

  • He never did talk down to children. I think that's why we liked him so much.

  • It's really too bad the chidrens show they have now a days are crap compared to amazing stuff like this. God Bless Mr.Dressup.

  • I used to love this show so much it was insane. I remember when Casie and Finnegan left the show because the puppeteer retired, I cried for days on end!

  • @stads24 no one else could puppeteer them?! I mean finnegan didn't even say anything for christ's sake! lol

  • @sicilianotoronto I guess she owned those characters because she had developed them when the show started. Who knows? Most people say the puppets went downhill after that puppeteer was gone. They changed all of the guest puppets after as well.

  • @stads24 and I know way too much about this. hahaha

I guess if it's important to your youth....

  • This was my favorite childhood shows, I loved doing crafts with him.

  • I read on IMDB this show premiered in 1967. How long was it on? I never heard of it.

  • I saw Mr. Dressup live about 18 years ago.

  • Mr.Dressup rocks i used to watch him

  • Mr. Dressup was the reason I started drawing. I loved this show sooo much.

  • i saw this guy live!

  • R.I.P

  • Ha! The music to the intro puts a huge smile on my face. It's good to go back sometimes.

  • [grabbing blanky & teddy bear - thumb in mouth. . . laying down for nap time]

    by the way... I'm 29 - LOL

Mr. Dressup was an IMPORTANT part of my childhood back home in Detroit. May he rest in peace.

  • @Cranberry333 dont worry about I felt like doing the same thing and i'm 38, I miss mr. D

  • Can you imagine what would happen now if they had a tv show with a middle aged man on a bed talking to children? Why can't tv be as innocent as it once was? I LOVE MR DRESSUP! To be young again, eh?
