Your dog might still have the instincts, but it's 50/50. That's the problem with crossbreeds you never know what the temperament is gonna be. Catch a rat and find out I guess. Btw how big is your dog? How many inches at the withers?
The withers is the highest of the dog at the shoulders while he is on all fours. If I remember correctly, your terrier should not be taller than 14 inches at the withers if you want it to go underground, if just for ratting I don't think it matters, but bigger dogs are slower in ratting.
