  • Hi how much watt needs this folder?

  • -honey I need to buy a bunch of video cards to cure cancer.

    -ok

-*sneaks a couple into his pc*

  • what team are you folding for?

  • how do you plant a gtx 580 seed so i can get 4 580s XD

  • i dont understand what does this do?

can you game on it? or is it for sompthing elce?

  • @262kk it's a folding farm, for F@H

  • @Wingard14 this computers for folding, servers dont use badass video cards mostof them have on board ati rage 128 chips on them

  • Hmm, I bet PS3 makes the big advanced?

  • Why do you need this? Got too much money?

  • @Suspect114 because it is close to his heart

  • but will it blend?

  • @iGotBadHumor1 who knows, maby it'll even run without lag!

  • Slow....

  • Thanks for dashing my hopes of ever making a dent! Ha! Keep it up!

  • Probably lags pretty hard running minecraft.

  • I bet you can play minesweeper pretty good on that PC!

  • It's a bit like BOINC, right? ;)

  • im curious, what is use of this kind system? What this bunch of gtx 295 do?

  • Do you use folding@home if so what is your username?

  • Use this to mine for bitcoins, you'll be rich enough to buy everything

  • what is the point of this exactly?

  • @sciman001 go research Folding@home. It is a software created my Stanford to utilize home GPU's to model complex protiens to help create diseases and stuff, im not a chemist.

  • you shit money dude :o

  • CAN THIS PLAY PAC-MAN???? O.o

  • PPD?

  • WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCKKK?

  • how much price for all this ?

  • Have you ever considered switching over to the software BOINC? I dunno if rosetta@home does huntingtons disease though

  • @lizardmannnn Rosetta@home doesn't support GPUs. But he could try running Rosetta with his spare CPU cycles (I don't know how much CPU is taken by each card running folding@home).

  • GTA IV ? oh whatever im running all

  • What would be better for the purpose of getting higher PPD when folding: buying two GTX 295s for $500 or buying two GTX 560 Ti for the same price? What PPD do you get out of each GPU on the 295?

  • what does folding mean?

    what is the purpose?

  • @LegacyOfGamez folding is a program called folding@home which runs simulations of protein construction in order to find a cure for different diseases. its a client on a server ,run by Stanford university and its the most powerful network of computers working together in the world (like a bunch of inexpensive computers doing what a unimaginably expensive computer could do)

  • y tanto pa no jugar? engayaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Wow you guys take your folding seriously :)

    Respect!

  • OMG!!! I need this for my animation rendering!!!!

  • How much did it all cost? What CPU's have you got on these setups? What PPD do you get with them all?

  • Folding software has proprietary, not open license.

    The software itself is proprietary.

In other words, free computing power for anybody contracting Stanford.

Go fold for intel with your money bill.

    No way, sorry.

  • Why not get rid of all your 295s and use the money towards bigadv rigs? Wouldn't your output be higher with lesser power consumption?

  • Keep it up Atlas, you are truly an inspiration!

  • nice build but waste of electricity

  • serious rig man, i have no idea why people even argue why you built this, nice upload!

  • @HansensUniverse They don't? Wow, I really appreciate your pointing this out to me! Imagine how stupid I feel now! :-P

  • @AtlasFolder well sir just to point out i can't really understand why people bind this with a video game called Crysis, but as we know this is a platform for folding not for video games :) even if one platform would work with games but it's just so stupid to think that way when you have so many GPUs/CPUs, in other words i would never in my life spend so much for video games when there is only one unit wich is running the game :) my point of view

  • @AtlasFolder

I dont think that comment was for you LOL. its for the ppl asking can it run Crysis.

  • @HansensUniverse I guess it's a good thing those aren't for gaming then huh?

  • @HansensUniverse

Hansens Universe. I love how you disrespect this man's creation when you are still playing with Lego. (seriously look at this guys vids)

Perhaps in 30 or 40 years or so you might have enough knowledge and enough money to attempt to build something as good as the Atlas Folder but something tells me you wont. Because you are a douche and you dont understand the difference between folding and gaming.

Thanks for the uploader, love the phase two videos too, great rig!

  • @NaturesDeathmatch hah.. play with LEGOs i build LEGOs don't play with em. like to keepe my head busy at something and as you may not know i have been folding units for many years now. the word you just used douche at me kinda made me think.. didn't you have anything better to say than that honestly. and i don't disrespect people who do this in this kind of scale. ehm.. i will never go this far simply i don't whant to i have a pretty good folding PC allready. have a nice day sir

  • @HansensUniverse pisses me of your to damn fucking stupid to realize this was in 2009 lol, i mean yea here in 2011!!! fucking dumb ass n actually i believe the quad sli vs you 580's we may still win because if you do your math 580's are SINGLE gpu's vs 4 here so please STFU, READ< LEARN, THEN DISS stfu n take it :)

  • @ruffroguedog quiet rude of you. whould you say that to my face a person you don't know . i don't think so it's called being tought over the internet.. and show some respect. i have done this since it folding came. so take it sir. i might be wrong am a human. you do not need to explain things i know. thats all have a nice day sir...

  • @HansensUniverse you see how stupid you look now, spitting fire without even taking the time to figure out what's it's all about

  • Jealous are we? lol. Of course it's worth it. Life is priceless feAr636. This machine will undoubtedly save at least one imo.

  • @Aidsus Since when does spending money on what others may consider a waste=jealousy?, If i spent $400 on a pill that lets you crap gold, i don't think anyone would be jealous, they would have a similar response.

  • Is $15000 worth of graphics cards really worth it? You either have way too much money, or not enough of a brain...

  • Folding farm...? That means that it is specialized for playing farmville?

  • whats the sound track used in this video, it's kinda sharp i like it

  • nice electric bill ;)

  • @aendre94 Yes farm is still in operation! :)

  • @AtlasFolder

and can it run super mario maxed out? lol:D

nice farm. how much does it cost?

  • @aendre94 Agree! "Would be a ssshame if it got blown up" yeah right XD

  • Do you still have this Farm running?

  • @TATZRIT Yes, the farm is still in operation. :)

  • I have serious question please answer it: So you can just run a system like windows on this machine? If so, then have you ever tried doing a benchmark? What is this machine which you filmed there even used for?

  • So you just link them together using ethernet?

  • With Nvidia's GTX 580 this is more then obsolete.

  • foldings fucking retarded, i dont have any diseases so why should i help people that do? noone in my family has diseases so fuck you i wouldnt fold unless i got paid to keep my computer running to fold fuck you nuts

  • @TheLobsterOfFate I'm sure your attitude will quickly change when you or someone you love gets diagnosed with a terminal illness.

  • @TheLobsterOfFate Your logic is pretty lame, if you took the direction of computer simulations are worthless right now, and you're better off investing your money in Cancer research or whatever disease you want I could understand that. However, to just say you are an idiot and you don't have a disease so why should i help others is silly. Regardless, your hard earned tax money will go to the NIH and they will give researchers grants to make up for your stupidity,

  • @TheLobsterOfFate what if in the future you do get a disease and theirs no cure?

  • wuts a folding farm? what does it fold, seriously

  • @TheLobsterOfFate

    Paper.

    It folds paper.

  • @TheLobsterOfFate The goal of the project is "to understand protein folding, misfolding, and related diseases.

Google "folding wiki" and you can read.

  • thats amazing goodjob

  • that must create insane amounts of heat. i have yet to turn on the heat in my basement this year, as my single GTX 480 in my gaming rig does a good job of providing heat.

  • @NEVAstopGAMER mind you, when i use it for folding.

  • damn buddy look like ur feeding the neighbor hood with free internet! lol

  • Can I buy two of those off you buy any chance if you're looking to move onto the GT400 series?

  • God id love to have a GTX 295 LOL and you have 23 of them ! my poor 9800 GT is sad lol

  • what is folding

  • Pointless waste of energy.

  • @GiantFuckinChannel NO! they are tying to fight cancer!! stop trolling

  • Bustin out the k9a2's in action I c ;)... Epic farm dude!

  • hi give me some :D

  • next time invest in teslas....

  • The MSIs will crap out much sooner than the EVGAs.

  • @loll69 Proof?

  • I think they connected by sli configuration

  • @lapulapu12345 Nope, don't need to be.

  • how many TFLOPS?

  • So, they have now released a client for the GTX 480, although it may still be in beta, I think it may be worth you trying to build a rack with some 480s or some 470s, just to test the computational power compared to the 295.

  • Can you fold for me username bigman34 and team number 143016 just fold me for like 3 days plz

  • @MrBigdogboy hey i can i have two GTX 480s Core I7 980x and a other rig with Core I7 920 and GTX 260s SLI :)

  • @MrBigdogboy user name is TonyHansen

  • 0:15 instant boner!

  • Wouldn't it be cheaper to do the same thing with a bunch of PS3's??

I mean, like 30 ps3's are probably cheaper (buying them + power comsuption vs the 5 full computers with 4 295's each + power consumption) and could probably do the same thing, or more.

  • @M4XC4V413R4 Cell is old.The PS3 would have to consume 50W to be equal. And for this year GPUs, 25W.PS3 would be a bad investment.

  • @Olengher what? are you saying the 295's use less than 50W? lol, you're crazy m8, they consumes 5 times that in IDLE, almost 10 times that in stress. PS3's would be cheaper and faster.

  • @M4XC4V413R4 a single gtx delivers 8 times more computing power in folding@home than PS3.Consumes 400W.You do the math. This server seems to be upgraded on regular basis. With this year technology on 40nm it will be 16x the power of PS3 for same 400W.Cell can't be better than 40nm chips. And a PS3 is not very cheap.Maybe an array of Cells, but no way PS3

  • @M4XC4V413R4 The 295 doesn't use 250-500w.

  • Damn dude! u got a incredible farm.. how is the name of ur usea in F@H? i have only a 4870.. and it only make 2600-3000 PPD u most do at least 300000 PPD =O wow really incredible man.. really well done ;)

  • it can run PACMAN in 4D :O !!!!!!

  • How good are the GTX480's at folding ?

  • @solidsnake1678 There is no functioning client for the GTX470/480 yet. They're working on it.

  • @AtlasFolder there is now! :D imusing my 470 for folding! 1Wu in about an hour

  • @AtlasFolder Is the ATI Points per day been fixed yet? Ages ago it was almost pointless using the GPU CLient on ATI cards.

  • @solidsnake1678 Now the GTX480 client is available. You measure Folding@Home speed in PPD (points per day). GTX480=15000PPD@default clocking. depending on OC: up to 19000 PPD.

    ATI 4870 does 3000PPD.

for other cards..look at the forums (GTX280: about 8000PPD i think)

  • @solidsnake1678 GPU3 client is out...I wanna say they make around 16k ppd.

  • @solidsnake1678

    DUDE the GTX480 its a BEAST, Mine folds a 25,000 size work unit in 48 to 50min.. My ps3 does a 30,000unit in 4hours.

  • @svtkennethsvt i have two computers my rig with the GTX 260 in SLI can work 25000 WU in about 1 hour or less :)

  • @solidsnake1678 Mine is doing 1265,xx ns\day at 830Mhz :)

  • You should sell those cards and replace them with GTX480s, if you can get hold of them, or 470s. You'd need 1/4 to do the same job maybe. That would be so awesome.

  • @youboon There is no functioning client for the GTX470/480 yet.

  • why do you need gcards for server computers?

  • @Venddenta these are not server computers.. are high end gaming computers but working for F@H, not gaming XD

  • Nice rack <3

  • what is the name of this song ?

  • fake

    where fps? games

  • epic fap fap fap *_*

  • my computer has 2 8800's and it can do SLI. but this is pretty nice too... who paid for it exactly?

  • humwhy there is no chat on you tube.. Btw anyone up for some cam chat^^

  • How many PPD you can get ?

  • it can run crysis?

  • @juanoxxxx no it cant becuse its used for Folding, and the Nvidia drivers dosent support more thenquad Sli, so no i cant

    Foldig(AT)home

  • @juanoxxxx epic win :D

  • @juanoxxxx no it can't you idiot, so tired of stupid comments

  • @HansensUniverse yes. one of them can. you idiot.

  • @juanoxxxx nope

  • I'm curious, how do you get your hands on so many GPUs? Did you actually buy them all or what? Seems like you'd need to be pretty rich to afford that many.

  • @Vire70 ..... its stanfords folding @ home

  • @toxicknight

    So the university bought them?

  • Comment removed

  • hahaha niiiice.. i wish i could get that.. but i dont understand how this would work, i mean there are several pcs there right. because i saw more than 3 motherboards. so they are not working together, are they?

  • @TheViciao go do some googling on what a folding farm and you will know what it is, this isn't for games. Its for science

  • @TheViciao all processors work for themselves and each processor works on one work unit

  • No, they don't communicate with each other, only with the servers at Stanford University.

  • WTF?

  • Pure OWNAGE

  • Impressive. I see incredible power and potential behind your rig. Ever think of making a crossfire version?

  • nVidia GPUs are currently a lot better (faster) at this kind of computing. I'm not a fanboi, just practical.

  • Still, what a wonderful way of aiding universities. Also a wonderful dedication to (SCIENCE.)

  • OWNED!

  • wow....

  • <_<

  • Dear lord...

  • holy shit... I bet you got alot of balls buying all that shit?

  • sure, it can fold@home. but, can it play doom?

  • omg... you have money!!!

  • kudos to this guy, contributing so much to science... thats over £6+K worth of gfx cards

  • Somebody knocked-off a shipment... "The Fast and Furious" style

  • @json187 nice.. best movie ever

  • oMGGGGG!!!! ncie rig

  • omg you can run games in future like i dont know like 20 years

  • or maybe 2 years xD hahaha directx10 is getting old bro

  • hehe, if you only knew how wrong you are.

If you knew anything about GFX cards/Physx and DirectX versions, you would know that the gtx295 only can use dx9 & 10 wich means it can't even run BFBC2 on max settings. It doesnt matter how many cards he has... The cards just can run Dx11.

  • i know but i didn t deleted coment

  • @DahKeyLogger If only you knew what folding is. He is using it for protein folding, not for gaming.

  • lol, I know. I'v been doing this myself.... But the guy I was talking to didnt know. ;)

  • you do know his primary goal is NOT to play games on it?

    .... tool

  • Read 6 posts down ;)

  • Hey Atlas it's CD from OverClock. You rock!

  • Hey CD! Need to check your vids out, it's been a while. Thanks for stopping by.

  • I think i need a wet-nap :D

  • Legendary,

    im still

using an old Q6600 and an 8800GTX , i wish i had the time, dedication and money as you.

    5/5

  • @randomrat mostly money, with that many 295 there isnt a thing i wudnt do :D

  • i think thats a server

  • no!

Its only for folding and server need good CPU and he doesnt said which CPU he has so its not for server

  • can you play crysis with this xD

  • NO!!

  • Comment removed

  • Medical research.

Folding@home for Stanford University. Look it up, it's an awesome cause.

  • Comment removed

  • @AJOPDX Been a while before ive been in Computer class's but isnt it 6 months and new is old?

    Do respond :)

  • i wonder how much your power bill is..... lol

    No really.... i wanna know

  • Well my power bill is mixed in with my company so it's hard to know. However, in total the machines draw 13,000 Watts continuously.

  • FTW

  • what program do you use to make use of all of these at once?

  • whats all that supposed to do and why do you need all that power?

  • wads this for actually ?
