  • so this is the same idiot that crashed taxing on the runway???

  • @mhayd990 Yeap! i'm just noticing he has a loooots of videos with different kind of "oops" over here! XD i just found 1 which is the take off from a deck which is quite cool! but the other ones (like the propeller or this one) .... no comments ... he's quite lucky xD!

  • @cb150689 I guess when you tempt fate with this sport your gonna get bit a few times lol

  • Convertable?

  • A one man wrecking machine...a prop strike and now the "outside locking mechanism"...riiiiight. This is the best Red Bull can do?

  • A bit of fresh air's what you need! LOL

  • Which is why visors are always a good idea.

  • Charlie Hillard was arrogant too, before he got killed

  • without glasses... it's hard

  • LOL

  • Poor Kirby!

The Prop Strike, The Canopy Opening... all he needs now is a Bird Strike to connect 3!

  • everybodies an expert in flying here......

  • should of got some hight and stall it then he should be able to quickly slam it shut.

  • The outside locking mechanism wasn't working, which is what he said. Why close a canopy that won't lock? It will just open again.

  • song name please!

  • He didn't latch it properly !

  • please, can someone tell me the name of the song at the end

  • exorcism by ryans hope

  • i was talking to mangolds wife,,,she flies iac aerobatics,,,she lost the whole canopy on her extra 300,,,they never found the canopy....

  • that would've been funny during a knife edge lol

  • che pilotone!

  • He would have perform a stall or stall turn to right side to close canopy by hand or by wind forces. Any how in this condition he did right decision to land & evaluate the cause of incident. Helmet with visor is very use full in this situation as well.

    What he said on 57"?

    Thanks for shearing.

  • stalling is reaching a higher angle of attack that theres no lift acting upon the wing does not mean theres no wind to still push the canopy out and therefore easily closed

and stalling while turning on the low altitude and

  • how could he breathe? just immagine when you put your head out the window in the freeway (not recommended) the wind does not let you breathe let alone on the plane.

  • I don't know how fast he was going obviously... but us motorcyclists just get use to the feeling whether on the highway, or the race track.

  • lol I cant remember saying that on that on this video. it's pretty obvious that a helmet wouldnt do anything for him :P and yes, he is already wearing a helmet, I must have either been high or drunk when I wrote that ^^

  • dude what is that song?!

  • Skatt Bros - Life At The Outpost

  • dude thats definately not it

  • i wanna do that

  • Most important part... "No Damage to the Airplane at all."

  • haha what a scare that would have been!

  • I had this with a glider :P On final for landing. But survived :p

  • You survived? Thought you died for real. Oh wait, you commented so... OF COURSE YOU SURVIVED!!!

  • Talking of canopies - Whats the difference between a rich Scotsman, a poor Scotsman and a dead Scotsman? The rich Scotsman has a canopy over his bed, the poor Scotsman has a can 'o pee under his bed, and the dead Scotsman can nae pee at all!

  • Haaaaah ha ha! thats good haven't heard that one...thanks XD

  • You're the first to laugh :)

  • omg... a bug would have felt like a bullet

  • Don Garlits hit a june bug at the end of a Top Fuel pass. If I remember properly he said it felt like a sparrow.

  • I was on a damm moped and I hit a bug, it left a bruse on my forehead

  • wear a helmet, idiot

  • He was, moron.

  • What the piss is a helmet gonna do if he crashes other than preserve his decapitated head?

  • Keep his head protected from banging around in the cockpit in the event of that happening.

If it was a worst case senerio, like say... crashing full speed nose first straight into the ground... then there is little to nothing that can be done.

But if so... why do anything in life to protect ourselves coming from your logic? Why be in a car with a seat belt, airbags, and a crash cage, crumple zones, when a train is going to hit.

  • Agreed.

  • Additionally, highspeed low-level flying requires helmet use to protect in the event of a bird-strike.

  • for the canopy failing in anyway not just bird strikes.

  • who's the idiot when you can't see the helmet when he is flying, look before you talk.

  • i've had my canopy open on takeoff before.. it takes you by surprise a bit! although my plane wasn't quite as fast and impressive as those!

  • Bug eater.

  • Return your seat backs and tray tables to the upright and locked position, and will somebody please close the canopy.

  • Just Imagine a bug in the face :D

  • assume kirby just wanted to enjoy the great view in the swiss alps LOL

  • WoW he must of been pretty scared

  • That was a minor incident. Perhaps he was startled when it first came open.

  • fasten your seat belt when you're in a plane :)
