  • too bad the beginning will never happen

  • I would love to make some of these projects!!! They're so cool! But I don't have a sewing machine :( How do I enter the contest to win one?

  • this video was awsome...and falry simple to follow..im making mine bag into a Domo-kun Bag... ^-^

  • definatly gonna make this for the up coming school year. "GAP" XD

  • Finally, a sewing video by a male that isn't flaming gay!

  • *NIKES how could i spell that wrong :(

  • D: you can't do this over night AND with the nukes the guys ok but the guy looked so stupid the way he said "I'll se ya at lunch" the guy with the magic Edwards sissor hands should steal them! 8D

  • Technically, even if you cut off a portion of those pockets

you have sown the whole side, and it would have no effect. pro tips for the masses.

  • @ElectricRaspberry No, Nike shoes are fine, it's just that the dude looked like a walking clothing store billboard with all the logos and brand names. If you're wearing clothes with logolessness along with the Nikes, you're good. ^^

    P.S. I love your name. 8D

  • i want to go to that university!

  • I <3 Rob's Pins!!!

  • I love your shirt gurl ! It's really cute and creative . Did you make it ? If not I think it'd be really kool if u made a shirt just like it . I would totally make on and wear it to school . :D

  • is there something wrong with nike shoes? o.0

  • i wish i had a sewing machine :(

  • cool idea, though I think as a messenger bag it woudl've looked cooler. XD

  • @akissy agree

  • I love the plastic bag tote bag. I'd love to make one!

  • tHatS wAS aweSOME!!! <3 It

  • I LOVE ROB!!!

  • Sewing is cool. :]

You can make all kinds of unique clothes.

  • Those pins are so cute!

  • corinne, i loke the shirt your wearing, can you make a tutorial on how to make it?

    thanks =)

  • i love it!!!it's soo cool!!!take a small size one and add 1 strap and make a handbag!!thats what i'm doing!!!

  • That messenger bag was SICK AWESOME

  • What Rob and Corrine probably don't know is that those type of sewing machines get used then thrown away. They don't last. the ones from the 50s and 60s those were built to last. I have a 1950s 401a Singer with all metal parts. Does, embroidry, many many differen types of stitching. runs like a dream. I just have my doubts any one of those 2 sewing machines will be around 50 years from now.

I do appreciate what they are trying to do. and promote. Keep it up guys.

  • rob's a pimp

  • Awesome! xD I love the beginning!

  • lolol so funny. Gap shirt

  • omg, lol at the begining!

  • you tricked us this is a old episode! but I LOVE it !

    *snip snip*

  • Wow, that was radical

  • very interesting and creative... thank you!

  • How do you make the picture come out like that? Even though I use a really good camera and upload it onto youtube, it still turns out really blurry.

  • They probably have a whole team of video editors who won't accept anything less than perfection. I always wondered the same thing myself. <3 Threadbanger

  • could you guys do a how to on measuring? i made a DIY fairy costume for halloween, but the tube top came out 3 sizes too small. i measured, but i probally messed it up!!! i tried to fix it... it worked but it was innacurate... i put a paper square with the logo for threadbanger on it!!! bad thing, i cant wash it cuz of the paper...

  • Umm...Buying fabric of that quality would negate the whole idea of diy to save money. You can get an old suit at a thrift store for maybe a dollar whereas the purchased fabric might be 10$ a yard (if you're lucky) Not to mention recycling means less crap in the landfill....

  • Yah.. you totally missed the point of this show. They are trying to do things greener, and save people money.

  • haha

  • very cool. you got my subscription

  • Hey guys!! check out the jockstrap I made out of a used piece of cheese cloth... I love it!! but the smell! lol.

  • hey guys great video, but where is the rotary cutter? Scissors BAH!!!

  • Rotary cutter? A guillotine cutter is far superior! Pfah!

    ;)

  • Hilarious!

  • this video is too fast i cant keep up lol

  • Ok, so i bought a new Armani suit and cut I it up, then what?

  • send it back to Giorgio Armani

  • Im so inspired to learn, teach myself...i wanna sew stuff, all kinds of stuff- i bought a lil tiny Dressmaker/2 sewing machine, and me and my daughter are going to try starting out small, baby step....wish us luck.

  • Good luck! A word of advice- don't give up if you completely mess up your first project. (Like I did) Happy sewing!

  • Truly enjoyed your video of making the backpack. Would love to make one for my nephew.

  • Q pedaso de Mierda. Este tipo se mueve tan rapido q entendi tres Cojones.

  • i don't know wy...

    i'm gonna send pics, u gonna like't

  • Dude, I'm gonna have to steal my dad's sewing machine for this one. You guys rock <3

  • The face Rob makes when he turns around at the beginning is priceless :)

  • Honey! I can't find my best suit. Have you seen it?

  • I think it would look better to make it into a messanger bag!

  • Good idea, just it went by too fast and you spoke to fast. Other than that it was pretty cool.

  • lmao GAP

  • I'm not a kid, but you guys have given me some great ideas for stuff to make for kids/teens. I want to make my nieces & nephews cool stuff that they'll be proud to wear when they are around their friends. Crafty aunts rock!

  • Help!

How can I support the backpack more?

My backpacks fall apart every year because of this... :(

  • i love it!

  • i love the sewing machines!!

    they are so awesome!

    i want one

i want to enter the contestttttt

  • omg i waz so confused wow cool u guys rock

  • You guys are the best, absolutely the best. I mean, sewing, AND creative, AND amusing, who could want more?

  • man this was really great i love the bag idea i can't wait to show it off at school.

    p.s intro was really funny!!

    good job guys

  • I'm glad you liked it. Be sure to send us pics of your backpack!

  • cool! I bet people who are jealous and wish they knew how to sew would post some comment calling you a fag...

  • WOW

  • lmao @ the intro.

    haha.

  • yeah the part where the camera shows the differents brands the guy is wearing was very funny

    LOL

  • so....anybody who wants to enter the contest, PLEASE take this idea:

take your sewing machine and shove it off a table. or throw it across a room, or something that will utterly decimate it. video yourself doing it, and at the end be like "well....i kinda dont have a sewing machine anymore, so...can ya pick mine please?" and send it in.

    it's a sure winner XD

  • The bag looks kinda cool ;)

    Too bad I don't have a sewing machine ..

  • maybe you guys should give away a video camera for those of us who dont have one to enter the competition :D

  • Hey guys, just to let you know - we're not looking out for the BEST QUALITY video to win. If you have a digital camera, most shoot video, or even if you have a webcam. Just be creative! So don't worry if you don't have a hi-tech video camera. You can still win!

  • I bet you could make some really funky-looking backpacks if you thrifted some of those acid-funk-Satan's-Kool-Aid 70s disco leisure suit jackets lol

  • Dude, that's what I was thinking. Go thrifting for some kind of seventies reject jacket. Except, most of those were polyester. Ew.

  • how cool! out garage salin

  • wanttt the sewing machine. ;_; I bought mine on ebay... for R$200... (Brazil guys!) which is about U$100 xD but it works perfectly.

  • wait what??? i didn't follow that at all lol.. everything went sooo fast. but thats unique

  • Wow what an exciting episode! :)

It would be better if you put some type of padding into the straps of the backpack.

  • id rather stick with my viking emerlad 116 <3

my machine is a strong pony :D

  • omg how cool

  • You have your own Sewing Machine!!!

    :D

    <3

  • i really like what you do but not everyone has the skills and time as you do, brand names arent the end of the world, but EVERYONE should have at least one custom item

  • does anybody no how much $ da new machines r?

  • You can spend anywhere from $150-$4,000 for a sewing machine. If you're just starting out, it's probably a good idea to look in the $300 zone. Not too fancy, not too cheap.

  • I Wans wun welly badly O_O... Plawks?

    Me win ?!?!

  • ROFLMAO OH NO GAP!!! XDD

  • Well I think they're talking about using an old suit that might not be worth much money. For example, you can get an old jacket at a thrift store and make a bag out of it for cheap!

  • It's okay, you don't get it. That much is obvious.

  • Nobody even wears gap anymore...

  • ya gap is soo old. its like random old sweatshirts and socks and jeans that are outdated and stuff

  • i have a qeustion, what do i do with this one hoodie that i have in my closet i really like it but the reason i dont whair it is because after i gave it a wash the print on it cracked up? and it looks horrable but as i wrote before i love it and dont wanna get rid of it

  • There's already a video about how to alter a hoodie.

    go look for it.

  • Ima make a real awesome one lol

  • ITS aesome ^^

  • Just a suggestion that you guys sorta missed: Backpack straps (or any straps for that matter) that are weight bearing need to have some extra padding in them so that they don't dig into your shoulders while using them. Also cutting them wider helps on top of this.

    But otherwise, great tutorial guys!

  • Too much work for a lazy person like me gona buy me one instead.

  • hey really random and this may only apply to me but i think its so cool that Rob is into sewing a DIYing :) I dont see guys that often into this stuff cause they think its too 'girly' or 'feminin' . Anyways, you guys are awesome :) thanks so much for you tutorials!

  • Pretty swank getting your very own *wicked* sweet sewing machines! I so hope the serger also has your flare... I'll be sending in my video by the end of the month, the challenge is inspiring!

  • that intro had me cracking up! HAHA!

  • this one's perfect! i'm going to make it right now. 8< 8< 8<

  • The backpack was great, but I'll never understand the hatred and contempt that's constantly expressed by ThreadBanger for industry leaders who are successful.

    Very Orren Boyle/James Taggart like.

  • It's not against industry leaders but pro-DIY

  • I wish I could agree, but the inference against manufacturing and industry is pretty clear.

  • i don't think it's meant to just jab at big name clothing companies, just to promote diy. i personally dig whatever looks really good no matter where it's from, but i also love a good bargain (who doesn't?) and have a sort of self-satisfaction in knowing i made something myself that no one else has.

  • we aren't against companies who are successful. we are against companies who are successful at the expense of the environment and people/animal rights.

    xoxo c

  • "Expense?" Huh?

    *Shrug*

  • Hahah

the intro is so delicious, like really awesome

    this is wonderful tutorial, also!

    thankies!

  • OMG i want that sewing machine!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah, don't give up the day job, eh guys?

  • this is our day job:)

  • Yeah, showing people how to make things. Not acting. =/ That was my point.

  • HAHAHA OMG I love the opening skit.

I love the backpack and I would totally do it, but I don't have a spare jacket or a ride to the thrift store, and I start school monday. Ugh.

Having some other ideas off it though, thanks guys!

  • Great vid and great idea when it comes to school related stuff. Keep it up guys.

  • That is such a kick-ass sewing machine (both of them). I'd enter the contest, but I already have a good machine, and I'd rather let someone else win one. But that's great, and super fun!

  • Rob's such a ladies man.

  • Wow those sewing machines rock!!!!!

I'm not kidding...I've sold sewing machines before and Janome is a great brand to use for sewing your heart out!

  • SWEET I just left a comment last week asking about guy ideas and then you guys post this!

Thanks so much this is awesome.

  • Great idea for a backpack! I hate having the same stuff as everyone else. (I mean why does everyone always have the same stupid jansport backpack as me!) but now I'll have the coolest backpack ever!

  • I seriously laughed so hard at the intro for this one.

  • Rob's too cool. Except at my school he'd get dresscoded for that beard. haha.

  • Wow congrats on the sewing machines guys they look awesome!!!!

  • I was wondering why you guys always pin parallel with your sewing line instead of perpendicular?? Perp makes it faster to sew and you use less pins.

  • That is probably the coolest DIY backpack ever!

  • awesome! too bad i didn't see this episode sooner tho because i already made my backpack out of duct tape!

i am so pumped for school

  • Oh, I love a man who can work a sewing machine

  • I didn't sew a backpack, but I painted over my old one with neon acrylic paints. :D

  • Congrats on the ThreadBanger sewing machines!

But why does a University have a first period?

  • your own sewing machine WORD!!!

  • You guys are awsome... The sewing machines are sweeet! I'm gunna buy one : )

  • i love this show. I actually have been wanting to make my own clothes for a while, I'm so happy I fell across this channel

  • i love the "back to school" eps! the opening to so funny!

    x

  • awesome!

  • yes first
