D: you can't do this over night AND with the nukes the guys ok but the guy looked so stupid the way he said "I'll se ya at lunch" the guy with the magic Edwards sissor hands should steal them! 8D
@ElectricRaspberry No, Nike shoes are fine, it's just that the dude looked like a walking clothing store billboard with all the logos and brand names. If you're wearing clothes with logolessness along with the Nikes, you're good. ^^
I love your shirt gurl ! It's really cute and creative . Did you make it ? If not I think it'd be really kool if u made a shirt just like it . I would totally make on and wear it to school . :D
Thanks Threadbanger for making my favorite hobby more affordable. Also, thank you for reminding me to pick up my husband's coat at the dry cleaners. LOL.
What Rob and Corrine probably don't know is that those type of sewing machines get used then thrown away. They don't last. the ones from the 50s and 60s those were built to last. I have a 1950s 401a Singer with all metal parts. Does, embroidry, many many differen types of stitching. runs like a dream. I just have my doubts any one of those 2 sewing machines will be around 50 years from now.
I do appreciate what they are trying to do. and promote. Keep it up guys.
They probably have a whole team of video editors who won't accept anything less than perfection. I always wondered the same thing myself. <3 Threadbanger
could you guys do a how to on measuring? i made a DIY fairy costume for halloween, but the tube top came out 3 sizes too small. i measured, but i probally messed it up!!! i tried to fix it... it worked but it was innacurate... i put a paper square with the logo for threadbanger on it!!! bad thing, i cant wash it cuz of the paper...
Umm...Buying fabric of that quality would negate the whole idea of diy to save money. You can get an old suit at a thrift store for maybe a dollar whereas the purchased fabric might be 10$ a yard (if you're lucky) Not to mention recycling means less crap in the landfill....
Im so inspired to learn, teach myself...i wanna sew stuff, all kinds of stuff- i bought a lil tiny Dressmaker/2 sewing machine, and me and my daughter are going to try starting out small, baby step....wish us luck.
I'm not a kid, but you guys have given me some great ideas for stuff to make for kids/teens. I want to make my nieces & nephews cool stuff that they'll be proud to wear when they are around their friends. Crafty aunts rock!
so....anybody who wants to enter the contest, PLEASE take this idea:
take your sewing machine and shove it off a table. or throw it across a room, or something that will utterly decimate it. video yourself doing it, and at the end be like "well....i kinda dont have a sewing machine anymore, so...can ya pick mine please?" and send it in.
Hey guys, just to let you know - we're not looking out for the BEST QUALITY video to win. If you have a digital camera, most shoot video, or even if you have a webcam. Just be creative! So don't worry if you don't have a hi-tech video camera. You can still win!
i really like what you do but not everyone has the skills and time as you do, brand names arent the end of the world, but EVERYONE should have at least one custom item
You can spend anywhere from $150-$4,000 for a sewing machine. If you're just starting out, it's probably a good idea to look in the $300 zone. Not too fancy, not too cheap.
Well I think they're talking about using an old suit that might not be worth much money. For example, you can get an old jacket at a thrift store and make a bag out of it for cheap!
Does anyone know of a show that was on about five years ago detailing peoples fetishes? One man loved feet, another woman gained weight on purpose...drank several shakes a day? Anyone know?
i have a qeustion, what do i do with this one hoodie that i have in my closet i really like it but the reason i dont whair it is because after i gave it a wash the print on it cracked up? and it looks horrable but as i wrote before i love it and dont wanna get rid of it
Just a suggestion that you guys sorta missed: Backpack straps (or any straps for that matter) that are weight bearing need to have some extra padding in them so that they don't dig into your shoulders while using them. Also cutting them wider helps on top of this.
hey really random and this may only apply to me but i think its so cool that Rob is into sewing a DIYing :) I dont see guys that often into this stuff cause they think its too 'girly' or 'feminin' . Anyways, you guys are awesome :) thanks so much for you tutorials!
Pretty swank getting your very own *wicked* sweet sewing machines! I so hope the serger also has your flare... I'll be sending in my video by the end of the month, the challenge is inspiring!
The backpack was great, but I'll never understand the hatred and contempt that's constantly expressed by ThreadBanger for industry leaders who are successful.
i don't think it's meant to just jab at big name clothing companies, just to promote diy. i personally dig whatever looks really good no matter where it's from, but i also love a good bargain (who doesn't?) and have a sort of self-satisfaction in knowing i made something myself that no one else has.
we aren't against companies who are successful. we are against companies who are successful at the expense of the environment and people/animal rights.
That is such a kick-ass sewing machine (both of them). I'd enter the contest, but I already have a good machine, and I'd rather let someone else win one. But that's great, and super fun!
Great idea for a backpack! I hate having the same stuff as everyone else. (I mean why does everyone always have the same stupid jansport backpack as me!) but now I'll have the coolest backpack ever!
