  • Thank you for posting this, I came from a first generation cambodian family in america and have become very white washed over the years but now with your video I shall make my family cambodian again! Aw Kon bong.

  • Please come back and make more videos! Please!

  • MAN BONG U JUST OWNED THAT SHIT FOOLLLLLLLLLLLLL

  • how do u make the sweet fish sauce bong? plz make a video thank u :)

  • I know your mom don't make that way, that don't look right.

  • Thank you so much for this!

  • Great video. I really enjoyed it. Tomorrow I'm going to our local Asian market to get the flour mix so I can make some for my wife and me. Thanks for sharing!

  • My favorite!! I wish I had the patience to make this!

    I'm hungry now!

  • This video was driving me nuts! I kept thinking my smoke detector was low on batteries again but it's your house haha!

  • to make it not stick together flip the banh xeo over to the other side b4 u put filling in

  • thanks, now I dont have to buy it at the vietnamese restaurant. I can make it 4 my husband at home.

  • why the hell does anyone complain or argue on food videos? People take their time to just show you a certain recipe. Thanks to this lovely lady I'm gonna attempt something I can't pronounce. Hopefully I only slightly fail..

  • @Peruvian007 LOL! Thank you for making me laugh...*^_^* You will not fail, but will surprise yourself instead.

  • Xeo is like seo not cheo

  • @xKaoKaox And obviously you're not Khmer because if you were, you would know that it's pronounced the way I said it in the video.

  • @forg3tm3not770 I'm Vietnamese...

  • theres no real way to create any dish alright so stfu already we all have different tastes for each n every culture dont u understand u close minded idiots? just understand every dish has a basic way of create it and everyone adds their own flavor to it DAMN

  • not to disrespect the real creator of banh xeo, yes u viet ppl but i prefer the khmer version of banh chao. i tried a viet version once and that was the last time i will eat their version. it was plain and oily. their sauce weren't nice. whereas the khmer version has better favour and tasted healthier. then again each to their own, different taste buds for different things/favours.

  • I agree with the comment above about the sounds quality...what equipment did you use for such nice, crisp sound?

  • @BenRias I actually used my headset that my husband has and plugged it into my laptop and used the Windows Movie Maker option as I do for editing my videos.

  • OMG!!! You are soooo creative.

  • @phamtranh Thanks so much!

  • how many eggs do you put in? just the yolk only? my banh xeo comes out sticky and soggy.

  • @Bungcao Hi! I forgot, but I think you can put 1-2 eggs (both whites and yolks).

  • @Bungcao Hi! I just put in one and both the yolk and egg whites.

  • Very well done. Nicely narrated, excellent video work and the audio was some of best that I have heard on YouTube. Thank you for sharing.

  • @sdcheapshot Thank you so much! You made my day...hehe!

  • LOOK SO GOOD AND EASY TO MAKE. I CAN'T WAIT TO TRY IT AT HOME. IM ONLY 19 AND IM GOING TO LEARN LOTS OF COOKING FROM YOU BONG SREY. IS THAT HOW THEY SPELL BANH XEO. IT KIND WEIRD TO ME...ANYWAY ORKUN

  • @Naren789 You're welcome paowne srey Naren and I always enjoy reading your comments.

  • OMG! It look so good! I never thought of combining two different meats together before now I have to try this mixture. Thank you for sharing.

  • @khmerbutterflygrl and thank you for watching!

  • hey, i have the same blue washing bolw..!

  • oi, you made me hungry *-*

  • Can you do a tutorial on how to make the sweet dipping sauce please?

  • @lilmari99 Yes and I will post it at a later date...thanks for watching!

  • i love your recipe! :)

i'm vietnamese, and it looks similar to what my mom makes!

except we used sliced beef, squid, and shrimp!

    hmm you're making me hungry!

and it's like "bahn sayo" :)

ah. vietnamese language is really hard though...one accent wrong and the whole word is wrong ;-__-

    omg. it looks delicious!!

  • @ChibiDr3amz Thanks so much and I've never tried it with squid before...that sounds delish....thanks so much!

  • @maiiyeu who GIVES a shit if it's viet or whatever? it's served in vietnam, cambodia, and laos, and other places SO WHO CARES ABOUT WHERE IT CAME FROM? she is just doing a tutorial on how KHMER people make it.

  • Since I'm cambodian we just use chicken lol it tastes much better without the pork :D mmm my family has been homemaking these for so long I want some now I'm starving hehe

  • cambodian pronounce it banh chao

    vietnamese pronounce it banh xeo

  • merci cam on lam !:)

  • i dont have to mix ground pork and chicken together do i? is that how the original recipe is like?

  • @ounsrey No you do not and you can use anything to your taste...ground pork, chicken, shrimp, turkey, etc.

  • Man that's not Banh Xeo that's some weird hybrid stuff. It's all wrong.

  • this is not how my dad, mom, grandparents, or any of my family member makes it. and we're vietnamese.

  • @bzybabi248 I never said I was Vietnamese...I only said that this is how I make it. Please watch my Rants video.

  • well, this is not traditional Vietnamese banh xeo but it's okay, if you have time, try to find the real recipe of banh xeo, then you'll find how it easier to make! ^^

  • BANH XEO (Seo) : BANH (cake) XEO (sizzling) = SIZZLING PANCAKE

  • its cute how she says banh xeo.

  • im guessing . she could be cambodian. thats how they pronounce it. and vietnamese pronounce with an X . the same as lao. just watch and learn people. if you have nothing nice to say. then dont watch.

  • haha x) my mom calls it Pizza Vietnam :3

  • You should try cooking the ground meat with shaved roasted coconut, the battambong way.

  • @Trilinguist Oooh...my mom is from Battambong and I will try that. Sometimes, I use the fresh coconut flakes as well with my meat.

  • I gues u aren't vietnamese. it's so untypical for vietnamese using coconut milk and soysauce. the way u make banh xeo is really strange. also, there r some incredients missing.

plus banh xeo are VIETNAMESE crepes, just wanted to make sure everyone knows :)

  • @maiiyeu annoyed; well, thats just her way of making banh xeo; u ain't gotta criticize her way of makin' banh xeo cuz everybody makes it differently and yeahh..u dont have to remind everybody that banh xeo is a viet dish. we all know. geez!

  • @maiiyeu, WTF? We use coconut milk all the time. You must not be from South Vietnam.

  • she can make whatever ways she wants. hater

  • you're def khmer, 'cause you cooked it the same way i do :) now i'm craving for some :(

  • @MsJadeci Yes, please check out my other cooking videos and as a bonus, I have makeup tutorial too.

  • can you make nom krok

  • @CryingAngel2025 Hi! I will try to learn it so that I can post it at a later time.

  • it's wrong way to cook traditional Banh Xeo.

  • looks good...my momma never put the chicken and stuff in the pan in the pancake tho. different styles. we always eat it with bean sprout mint and cucumber and fishsauce sooo good

  • It looks less tasty than vietnamese style. Less vegetables

  • Nice video.... It was interesting to see how people make this dish. Thanks for that tip with the aluminum foil to keep it warm. Great idea!

I never heard of using an egg in the batter. I do use green onions and steamed mung beans with my ground pork and shrimp mixture. I have heard using beer in place of water in the batter to make it crispy, I have yet to try that. I did enjoy your video tho!

  • @aznccsf21 I'm going to try the beer version and see how it goes...very interesting and yes, you put green onions, steamed mung beans, and I even put fresh coconut flakes in mines, but for this video, I was trying to make it simple for people to follow.

  • she didnt even say banh xeo right xDD

  • That's how Khmer say it.

  • What is the egg for? I never put an egg in mine.

  • this doesn't look good

  • lol, it may not look all that appealing but i think its pretty tasty =]

  • this Banh Xeo is not crisp

and the pans she uses is not suitable to make BX

this way is fairly different from the traditional one

  • It's the Khmer way

  • no wonder , i thought she be viet -.-''

    my bad xDD

    but funny still .

  • crispiness is up the chef and the eater. =)

  • sometimes its interesting to watch many people do banh xeo in many different ways and style..banh xeo doesn't quite necessary have to do one way so im going to try this recipe mmmmmmmmmm

  • @Vietnamemperor12346 Thanks so much!

  • this is not the way to make our traditional "banh xeo", but the important thing is not the style, if like it, so just call it a new style "banh xeo" ^^

  • my dad used groung chicken

  • i thought that crush was eggs. I had this one time and i really thought it was eggs. Hahah... Thanks for sharing this...i'll have to make it one of these days.

Do you know how to make Banh Xu Dua. Its a dessert with powder coconut on it. I cant find it anywhere on here....Let me know..

  • @Phaythful Sorry, I don't know what that is but thanks for viewing!

  • This is not the authentic way to make Banh xeo. you don't flip it over it's supposed to be crispy on one side. you don't use ground meat, you are supposed to use boiled pork belly that is sliced.

  • I know huh. This girl did it differently and it's not authentic. where are the shrimps. looks too plain. didn't look right.

  • i know where is the shrimp?

  • @nguyenmiket, eric91792, & lynxznoir:

there are different variations to make banh xeo, banh cheo, or nom jak. you can make it your own because you're eating it so that means you can put whatever you want, whether it's shrimp, chicken, beef, pork or w/e. she didn't say thing is the authentic way. this is her way. plus, this asian crepe is not limited to one style. there are khmer, thai, viet, etc. besides pork belly is too fattening, so i'd rather go w/ the leaner side.

  • @nguyenmiket that's not all true. just because you're use to one process and tradition doesn't make this process wrong. cambodians make it with ground meat and i actually prefer ground meat over sliced pork belly.

  • bong srey, if you happen to have any banana leaves on hand you can use them to seperate each nom instead of aluminum foil. It makes it look more presentable and doesnt waste your foil =)

  • @chunlyda Thanks paowne srey. Usually I do, but money's tight and those leaves are expensive.

  • I know how to make Banh Xeo...this is not the way to do it.

  • I've have not seen it made this way, you really dont have to flip it on both sides...

the pan should be really hot it cooks through,, but what ever makes your sun shine brighter... but this is for sure not the viet way. and you say "xeo" exactly how its spelt "x" is sounds like a "s" theres not "ch" in it...

  • in khmer we pronounce it with a CH which is why she calls in banh cheo and not xeo.

  • You can't teach people how to make the banh xeo and not the sauce that goes with it. That's soooo wrong. Eating it without the sauce would not taste right.

  • Your right it does not taste the same with out the sauce....but im use to eating the Shrimp and pork, not the groundbeef.

  • she did use pork

  • @chunlyda You can use prok, shrimp, chicken, turkey...etc.

  • @GetDamage I will make a video for the sauce at a later time.

  • can you please write down the measurements of each ingredient you used to make the ban xeos? so how much meat, how much tumeric powder etc. please and thank you. also I thought an egg was involved in this as well but I guess it isn't?

  • @jualkyn Yes, an egg is involved and sometimes, I put sugar and coconut cream in it too, but I forgot. So sorry, but I wouldn't know the exact measurements because I cook by estimates. Thanks for trying to learn the dish though.

  • Wow i like the color the turmeric gave them.. i'm going to try that

  • This and Bok Lahong are my two favorite dishes!

  • @channy2t I have a Bok Lahong video if you would like to view.

  • this is not the Vietnamese kind for sure

  • I"m just wondering. can I just use regular flour instead of the ban xeo prepared flour? and what if I don't have the tumeric powder? is there anything else I can put in? And when do you mix the egg in it?

  • nope you got ot have the mix cuz it has swet coconut milk and adds flavor to the food.....so dont skip the mix please!! and dont forget the sauce that goes with it. you have to make it from scratch too

  • when are you gonna make the sweet fishsauce tutorial? i wanna learn. lol.

  • @khmerxunique Oops...I kept on forgetting. Will do it soon...thanks for your patience!

  • You pronounced banh xeo wrong lol

  • Well, that's how I pronounce it.

  • good tutorial though!

  • @forg3tm3not770 It's like banh seo :), and great tutorial :)

  • @kngiht84 Thanks!

  • @forg3tm3not770 Well, how YOU pronounce it is wrong. Pronounce like the x is an s. Just trying to help so you don't look bad

  • @theoneballa2526 She pronounces it correctly.

  • @forg3tm3not770 thats how i pronounce it too...

  • @forg3tm3not770 thats how i pronounce it too...

  • @forg3tm3not770 thats how i pronounce it too...

  • @forg3tm3not770 thats how i pronounce it too...

  • @forg3tm3not770 thats how i pronounce it too

  • @forg3tm3not770 No. You should apologize for butchering my people's language.

  • @deanlo Dude, calm down.

  • She pronounces it with the Cambodian pronunciation, both are technically correct.

  • @TheKChannel thats how you say it in cambodian you dumb fuck...

  • @hbomb619

This is old and she already told me a long time ago. Retard.

  • @TheKChannel your the retard because your so fuckin ignorant thinking there is only one way to pronounce it. dumb fuck.

  • @hbomb619

She should have put the Cambodian way of naming it then to not confuse VIETNAMESE people, after all it is a VIETNAMESE cuisine

  • @TheKChannel correct. in cambodian its pronounced as banh chiao the name is derived from the original banh xeo. but if the title for this video said "banh chiao" people will start complaining saying that its spelled "banh xeo" so this person who posted this video is right. she just prounounced it the cambodian way.

  • @hbomb619

Lol, I know. It's just that I kinda got worked up over that idiot.

  • @TheKChannel. i know what you mean lol.

  • @TheKChannel It's funny how they get confused so easily. huh? LOL.

  • @TheKChannel we khmer pronounced it this way :)

  • @mizternak

    Yes, I know. Before I didn't though

  • @TheKChannel She pronounced it correctly. She's not Vietnamese.

  • alot of cambodian pronounce that way.

  • ~*~ Oh.... yes... I'm really really hungry...yummmy

yummmy..... may I have some of ur banh xeo...is look so good n thanks 4 sharing... ~*~

  • You're welcome and thanks for watching khmerstar08!

  • @khmerstar08 Thanks for viewing!

  • omg i have that last night my mom Banh Xeo is the best !!!. i love my banh top with chive..i more of a veggie then meat person...

  • I kind of have the craving for it right now too.

  • Banh Chiao is an awesome dish! Nice tutorial

  • Thanks WiiForDaWin!

  • Your Welcome!

  • My parents make it all from scratch and it tastes so very authentic. But my mom only makes the crepes because she can do it even though my dad is the main cook in the house. Only she has the skills to do this. The crepe is made from flour, egg and coconut cream. Putting the sprouts+chopped shrimp+ground beef into the crepe is delicious.

  • Yes, that's how I make it too but sometimes in these videos, i can only use the ingredients that are on hand.

  • so when i'm going to get invite to your foods festival, i'm living around the corner near you lolz

  • Well hello neighbor! Which part of town are you in? We should have a picnic and bring out favorite dishes...:P

  • near stone mountain on US 29 L'ville Hwy. oh sure, when i get to invited. lolz

  • Awesome! Did you know that there is a Khmer restaurant called, Phnom Penh Restaurant (used to be called Beef Stix) on L'ville Hwy?

  • i think so, is that in Tucker Road L'ville Hwy right.

  • Well, I know that it is in Tucker, but not sure if it's near Tucker Rd...that restaurant has some really great food and I truly recommend it b/c it's authentic.

  • forg3tm3not770 told me about that Phnom Penh restaurant. It's really good. It's on Lawrenceville Hwy in practically downtown Tucker.

  • are you vietnamese cuz i know this is a vietnamese food cuz well i am vietnamese

  • Wow...you said "Vietnamese" three times in one sentence. Yes, this is a Viet dish, but I am not here to give a history of where it came from nor am I Viet. Obviously, you did not watched my latest Updates and Ranting video.

  • Just a thought...have you ever tried the asian chicken sauce in a bottle or sometimes they called it egg roll sauce? Well try adding it to your sweet fish sauce it adds alot more flavor.

  • Hi Sotheari! Thank you for the suggestion...are you talking about the black chicken marinade asian sauce or the vietnamese sweet fish sauce that looks thick on the bottle?

  • the vietnamese sweet fish sauce that looks thick on the bottle...

  • Oooh...I love putting that in everything and will try it for banh xeo as well b/c i didn't have enough last week and want to make some more this weekend.

  • It's funny how Bong Sokong is in the background

  • GF, you're all the way in Italy and still have time to watch YouTube? You better get back into your room before it gets too late bc it's not good to stay there alone by yourself since your roommates are gone. I just came back from Fire of Brazil to celebrate my manager's bday...both Kalyanna and I are soooo full. Need hubby 2 roll me outta here...hehe! That wasn't hubby in background, but Samrach instead. I kept having 2 chase the guys out of the kitchen 2 get out of my way.

  • That looks so delicious! Your tutorials are great and I like that you don't add music to them. It makes it easier to concentrate on the process.

  • LOL! I like the music, but I do have to admit that it's so much quicker to do a "voice-over"...all this time, I forgot that my laptop had a built in speaker...like duh! hehe! Thanks for the comment Firefly5101!

  • omg thank you! i've been trying to find out how to make the batter. my mom wouldn't teach me. she only makes me fry the crepes whenever she makes it. lol.

  • LOL! Don't you hate it when they go straight to the cooking and never teach you along the way. My youngest sister feels the same way with my mom. Thanks for watching akinoyume!

  • Thanks .. AGAIN .. lol .. i forgot the ingredients to this && my fiance is dying for some ..

  • You're very welcome and I'm glad that you are able to make this for your fiance now. Thanks for watching dahneegirl!

  • its vietnamese crepes...

  • Obviously, you did not watched my Updates and Ranting video. I am not here to give a history of where the foods from my tutorial come from. I cook all culinary foods and will not label which country they are from b/c if they are from yours, then you would know.

  • You have a smoke alarm beeping in the background (it needs a battery)......I thought it was in my house so my husband has been walking around with a battery, trying to figure out which one to replace!!!!!!!! And it's on your video!!!!!!

  • LOL! I was hoping that nobody would notice that...that is hilarious and I'm sorry that your husband had to go through all that...hehe!

  • so i made it w/ my sister today. it was fun and easy to make. moreover, it's super delicious! thanks for the tutorial! <3

  • Yay! I'm so glad to hear that...it is fun to make if you have somebody helping you and you're not standing there the whole time.

  • OMG VIET FOOD :D

lol awesome one of my favs to eat

once at this pho restaraunt, they called it 'vietnamese pizzas'

    i was like 'wtf, lol'

  • LOL! I had never heard it labelled as pizza before, but I had heard it as crepes and or pancakes.

  • Thank you! The sweet fish sauce sounds wonderful...
