  • Made the tamales following your guidance. They were perfect. stuffed them with a carne adovada sauce using Hatch chili and loin. Poured a hot Hatch enchalada sauce over them. Had them with Anasazi beans and a lite salad. I would feed them to anybody.

I never knew what a real tamale was until i went to california and had the real thing, now I'm hooked and I try to make two big batches a year and freeze the extras so I can have them anytime! I lost my recipe that was passed to me by me amiga in tiajuana though so now I'm going to try this one can't wait to eat them!!!

  • HELLO, MS. Mary, I searched the youtube wide to find you. i am a gringa married for 35 years to my handsome Mexican/American husband and two amazing son's. You make talmales the same way I do, now I'm happy! I did them right, now off I go to make the beans, so when everyone gets here on New Years all everyone does is add the masa and husks and I steam them :), we sit with beans rice and tamales cooked up with lots of love.

  • I just wanted ot make a few notes...just in case(:

  • I boiled the meat in water until fork tender, until it is almost falling apart, added garlic powder, onion powder, cumin (just a touch), some pepper and of some boullion. Taste in between, using a falvored boullion same s meat if possible. Use a rubber spatula or the back of a spoon for spreading.   • The first part got 5,660 and the second part got 2,227,LOL....I guess after the first part it was such a Long Process ,people did Not care about the Finish product. I Fast Forward to the End LOL,I can tell you Enjoy Cooking,Old School from Scratch, I know it was Delicious,But I don't have the Patient to make your Tamales ...Great Job!
