  • Clapton ? Ha ! One would think that after all these years, He would actually learn to play the guitar the way a God damn guitar should be played.

  • Best Guitar ever made. I wish I could own one, Iv had many chances of having spin offs but if its not the real deal.....

  • i won't lie i like les paul but i think jackson guitars are 1000000 times better

  • slash is shit!!!

  • WTF!!! Why wouldn't you just go to Gibson and get one custom made??? Or to any other company that makes custom guitars and you can even use woods that are a hundred or more years old for a lot less money than that. My mother always said when idiots have money, the smart get paid.

  • Hey what stones song is that on the Ed Sullivan show?

  • Les Paul guitars are over-rated. They are hard to play. If you want something real nice to play get a Joe Satriani guitar of some sort. it has a real fast, smooth, buttery neck that is easy to play. These les pauls are stiff and hard.

  • shit! I don't have an attic ! :)

  • what's the name of the song playing in the beginning of the video?

  • maybe be so but does it sound good?

  • Eric Johnson!

  • The funny thing is, slash used a COPY of les paul on that album.

  • I have a les paul but I play my wolfgang far more often.

  • the best guitar ever is the fender stratocaster! :D

  • i want these!!!

  • damn! he could just give me one you know?

  • If I found a 1959 sunburst or any other gibson I would keep it. One of the best guitars in the world.

  • Give me a Japanese made Eclipse plz!

  • Plank of wood....

  • @63karl Actually, it's not a tele or a strat, it's several carved planks of wood instead.

  • i play with a les paul too xD why they didn't filmed me too? XDDD

  • It's was made well and is rare, but seriously the sound isn't any more amazing than a good les paul. If you hear a difference, you're fooling yourself.

  • So if I play a les paul slash would think I'm cool?

  • i went to bowlin guitars in boise idaho when i first started playing guitar and they gave me a shop tour and showed me how there guitars were different from others and jake bowlin pulled out two guitars: his version of a perfect les paul and what i thought was just a gibson les paul.... he let me play both of them, and they both played amazing... then hes all like, "now you can tell your friends you just played a halfmillion dollar 59 les paul" :) pretty sure i had to change my pants after that

  • pagey and paul are awesome!!!!

  • WHAT IS THE SONG FROM 2:05 to 2:30 ?1?!?!?!?!? please answer me :(

  • @ChocolateAndGuitar sweet child of mine

  • @jrtomlin nope

  • @ChocolateAndGuitar Double Crossing Time, by John Mayall with Eric Clapton :)

  • @PePz1NL THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!!

  • I HAVE ONE!!!!! o wait.... its a 2011 les paul traditional sunburst 59'. Damm lol. It is truly a peace of art for the sound, the look and everything about it.

  • Fuck that shit, get an Epiphone SG for like 100 quid lol

  • where the fuck is Pete Townshend!?!?

  • @Malvezzi87 Pete Townshend destroyed his Les Pauls. He saw this video and said, "D'oh!"

  • @InfraRedNeck LOOOOL

  • @InfraRedNeck

Pete went buying glue after seeing this video

    xD

  • Nothing can ever beat the Manson MB-1.

  • Fucking idiots

  • if i want to invest ill buy a piece of solid gold, if i want a guitar im going to play and not pose with my offical rock n roll hair cut and slung lo guitr, ill buy a rondo, no poseurs here

  • Makes feel even more poor when I can hardly afford an Epiphone.

  • i *wish* i could randomly pull a gibson guitar out of my attic!

  • what, only 1 picture of led zeppelin?

  • Dangit. I need an attic.

  • the only thing they forgot to say is dont have a heart attack if you find one that looks like it, it may be one of the million re-issues or knockoffs.

  • who checked there attics after this video....

  • Notice this was made in '07: That guy at the end of the video did not foresee today's economy!

  • @BucksStudent Definitely not an austrian economist! Dumbasses! Our economy was based on a false boom of credit with government giving loans to people who could not afford them. This was all pushed down our throats, and made possible with the US's private central bank the federal reserve.

  • @SarionFetecuse That's not my problem.

  • @BucksStudent Really? So if they one dasy printed 100 trillion dollars it's not your problem? Making your money virtually worthless, and you can do nothing about it since, it's a monopoly protect by the use of force of the US government. Even if you didn't live in the US, this would drastically effect your economy because half the idiots invested in dollars saving so they are worthless too, a depression worse than the great depression! Not your problem my ass.

  • @SarionFetecuse Fuck off. I have no control over my government.

  • @BucksStudent Wow, I can tell you where taught in the goverment school system! Hurray for free schools! Even though it's paid throw the inflation, and the bloodied backs of the future unborn through deficit spending! (All of your tax dollars go to paying the debt) You must be proud, of telling me to fuck off, while simultaneously telling that to your unborn children the same! High five man!

  • @SarionFetecuse cool people go to public schools

  • STFU! ibanez would nvr succeed if they did not have gibsons n fenders as guidelines.

  • @timobollalcbryce

guidelines? Ibanez has a very long history in original guitarbuilding and was/is one of the pioneers in the development of the superstrat

    (slicker stratocastermodel+humbuckers+extreme tremolo systems+locking nuts+

    7-string)

just type: JEM+UNIVERSE+IBANEZ in YouTube/Google/Wikipedia and find out that your comment is a little bit morontalk

(btw Fender was/is not much innovative after building the first stratocaster)

  • the guitar is not ugly, but i would sell it and buy with the profit a bunch of custom made Ibanez S-series guitars...what! i would design my own guitar based on them!

(they're light, thin, easy to play, have a great sound, stay in tune, look great and have A LOT of other possibilities)

  • Kitsune090 are you fucking serious saying that guitar is ugly i bet you a spotty fucking homo

  • 1 million for this ugly guitar?

  • @kitsune090 you are a disgrace

  • look at angus young SG IS THE BEST!!! :DDD

  • I wouldn't sell That Guitar

  • Actually, Les Paul prices have plummeted in the last few years as have all vintage instruments.

  • Pawn starz bought one of the original LPs for $97000.00

  • This is all a guesstimate. I don't know anyone or have ever heard of anyone paying anywhere near $750,000.00 for a '59 Les Paul. Why does Billy Gibbons now play a Gretch or Clapton play a Strat ?

  • At first i though the price was $750,000,000 -_-

  • Comment removed

  • i just found one in my attic ! yaaaaaaaaaahaaaaa

  • @mascal666 :o

  • @mascal666 No you didn't.

  • it´s excpensive

  • I don't care what anyone says- the greatest '59 Les Paul player was Duane Allman. If you ever saw him as I did at the Fillmore East you would agree.

  • I don't like Les Pauls

  • I'm pretty sure a set neck guitar that sat in an attic for 50 years would be warped and unplayable.. depending on the climate.. bur very likely.. :(

  • @KONAROCK1 I agree with you. No way anything made of wood would fare well.

  • As a friend of my once stated a Les Paul through a Marshall stack is what God plays.

  • 0:41 If I found that in my attic I would have to clean myself up...

  • In the video of sweet child o mine slash wasn't actually playing a 59, read his autobiography and you'll see, just saying.

  • R.I.P. Les Paul

  • I would shit my pants with joy mate!!!!!

  • Eric Clapton played a 1960 Les Paul, not a 1959.

  • UHHH I saw a vid on someone breaking it with a hammer ;((((((

  • OMG OMG!!!!!! I FOUND ONE ON MY GRANMA'S GARAGE AND SHE LET ME KEEP IT

    FUCK YEAAH

  • @fcukermen HOLY COW MAN CONGRATULATIONS......you mind sharing?????

  • nearly 750,000 veiws :P

  • I'd rather play Fender Squier Telecaster for 200 bucks than this 750k shi~

  • What's the name of the song in the begining?

  • Comment removed

  • Bullshit...prices for most collectable guitars have gone DOWN. A Page guitar, yes, it will go up but NOT every sunburst.

  • Les Paul costs more than views in video.

  • @2xm69 if 1 view was 1 dollar?

  • @2xm69 not yet)

  • That's why money is a pure bullshit

  • Comment removed

  • Whats the song running at 02:10 ? Btw, best guitar ever!

  • @Bluestravelerallfory definitely sounds like something mike bloomfield did, not sure if it was the flag or paul, etc tho

  • Collectors make it impossible for musicians to enjoy these.

  • morons with something stupid to say...

  • This is the guitar Jimmy Page played. I'd kill for one of these.

  • please watch frettedamericana les paul 1959 you all will hear why this LP price tag could put you to be a millionaire

  • stimnya tgk LP 1959

  • But will it blend?

  • @extremetothemax86 no it wont

  • Bullshit, there are 3 dealers that have orig bursts for sale for under 200.000 and cant sell them,750,000 in this economy,ha,ha,ha,ha

  • @extremetothemax86 getting kinda old. . . . . . FAGGG

  • @extremetothemax86 NO!!! :(

  • An overpriced piece of ... mahogany.

  • @MSBollWeevil

Not overpriced. Apparently people do pay this amount of money for this guitar. So if it gets sold for that price (and it will) it will not be overpriced.

  • Eric Clapton uses Fender. Gibson propaganda FTW...

  • @ZacharySchroeder

    He uses both.

  • @Behindspace90 And that is why his Fender is worth more...

  • GUITAR OF DESTINY!

  • I'm lucky to own one of these. Not a big fan of humbucker guitars (I prefer my 60's strat) but it is a gorgeous looking, beautiful-sounding beast. It belonged to my grandfather who bought one in '59.

  • Dude the 1951 Les Paul played by Les Paul's wife herself went for about 250,000 or 300,000...

  • why would you sell it!?

  • Ridiculous. You just need to spend a couple hundred bucks on mods to make your Gibson USA as good as a '59 model, mainly the aluminum tailpiece upgrade.

  • @moogman5

This is antique, quality is not directly important. It's collectable nature of the guitar.

  • @Behindspace90 Wrong. It is because of the SLIGHTLY higher QUALITY of vintage instruments that they have become collectible...Slightly does not mean hundreds of thousands in my book. If it's because of historic value, then the value cannot be anywhere near that range because it was/is a MASS PRODUCED guitar...NOT a unique piece in any way.

  • @moogman5 You're actually contradiction yourself. Your saying that this guitar is worth this much because of the slightly higher quality of the instrument. So the slightly higher quality of this LP justifies a 745.000 dollar raise in price? Not at all. The guitar might have been higher quality (I have my doubts personally, but that aside), but this guitar is just a collectible and that's why it's worth that much. That's all. No quality justifies a 745.000 dollar raise in price. :)

  • @Behindspace90 NO, You're misquoting me. Read my reply AGAIN.

I said that the slightly higher quality has made them collectible. I never said that the slightly higher quality justifies the 745K price. And NO, just because something is collectible, doesn't mean it's worth 745K. It's worth 745K because idiots with more money than sense are paying 745K for something that should only be worth 10K at the most.

  • @moogman5

Who's to say what's the worth of something? In a free market the consumer determines the price of goods. If these consumers are willing to pay 750.000, then the price is just. If consumers are not willing to pay 2 million, then the price is too high. As simple as that. Of course, the intrinsic value of the parts, labour, wood, quality are wayyyy lower. But that has nothing to do with the economic value at all.

  • @Behindspace90 pick one of them up and play it then get back to me

  • @fillyferz

    What's your point?

  • @Behindspace90 You just proved my points. I'm in agreement with you. Except, I say that whoever pays 750K for a Les Paul is an IDIOT. Plain and simple. I don't care how wealthy that person is...They're a freaking idiot. Zzzzzzzzz

  • @moogman5

Sure, whoever pays that much money for this guitar isn't buying it like a normal person would buy a guitar. It's ridiculous to spend these amounts of money. It's just a luxury itemI guess. Just like expensive cars, boats, houses, etc. But frankly I don't care what others do with their money, as long as I know what I'm doing with mine. :)

  • @Behindspace90 ...and they throw just a little tiny bit over my way...like 10K? haha

  • mark knopfler has a '58 AND a '59 les paul... why wasnt he included in this video?

  • they forgot to mention Ace Frehley! He's always played LP's!

  • i would keep that till i died and leave wishes to get buried with it....

  • No Gary Moore?

    Am I correct?

  • I have a beat-to-crap '73 Lester Polsfus Custom Black Beauty, Fretless Wonder. It's truly an amazing guitar-better than any vintage burst or gold top I've ever played.

  • I would sell it.

And then i buy a very good piece of old wood and get my own personal highend guitar.

With the best parts i can find out there. Handmade from a guitar master. With highest quality.

And i will follow every single step. And it would look the way i want it.

No Gibson brand on it. And much better. Because i dont pay a good part just for the name.

Every single $ goes into quality. And its not made just to make money....

To bad my 08 Gibson SG Special Faded is not worth 750k :/

  • Whammy bars no matter BEND the STRINGS

  • really...and no whammy bar? people deserve to die

  • Comment removed

  • Rip les paul

  • Everyone that appreciates good music will be dead soon and there will be no market for this kind of stuff anymore

  • @Guitarvox44 Well i still appreciate it, and i am 15 so we will at least have 50 years left ;)

  • Man, got to stop buying Les Pauls. The awful headstock breaks all the time, and quality control at Gibson factory is ridiculous. Do it your self and build a guitar instead.

  • @lumpfish99 I just died.

  • Will it Blend?

  • Scary... Wooo... Slash..... Scary name.... Shitty lick player... He sucks... Rifles and Daisies--I mean Guns and Rosies suck ass... Slash is nothing but a fucking POSER... Stupid hat, idiotic hair, and ridiculous image... I like Bieber better...

  • @brogless fail troll is fail

  • If 59 costs 350000 more in just few years imagine how much it is going to cost in the future?

  • did you know that Les Paul hated what gibson was doing with his guitar design he was thinking of switching to a new guitar company. can you imagine how different rock and music would be today if he did

  • @MrJackl0l i cant imagine gibson would have stopped making les pauls, maybe just given them a different name

  • @SixStringSolid hey dude i didn't say Gibson did want Les Pauls' guitars i said that Les Paul was thinking of switching to a different guitars companies but Gibson invested more money in his contract which paid out

  • i meant didn't

  • what song/solo is being played at arnd 1:55?

  • glad to hear the two Mac tunes in the beginning

  • a friend of mine had a 1961 les paul....it was his dads...he didnt know anything about guitars and he gave it to a charity shop.....when he told me i literally ran to the shop when i got there some dude was in the process of buying it for the total price of $79.....when he saw me he knew we both knew the true value of it.....I went home and cried......it has left me eternally traumatised.

  • @lumpfish99 you just broke my heart :(

  • @SixStringSolid you have no idea how gutted i was...honestly i have never felt so bad...i really cried....still to this day the pain is fresh....i was so close.

  • @lumpfish99 that is a truly painfull guitar story, but out of interest, how much was it worth?

  • @danspivey91 somewhere between 240,000 and 440,000 depending on condition....but you could sell it and buy a house no problem....why you one?!!

  • @lumpfish99 I wish! no I just needed to get a price to understand the full pain of the story. I can honestly say I would have cried for days if that had happened to me.

  • @danspivey91 this happened maybe 8 years ago and it can still bring me to tears today thinking about it....if i had been maybe 10 minutes earlier my life would be different right now! I would not have sold it though!

  • just looked in all my closets and doors but couldn't find one. FACK

  • i wanna time travel back to 1959 and bring 10k with me and buy as much as i can

  • i know a guy that has a 59 gold top les paul and man does it play fuckin amazing and he doesnt even like playin it

  • i don t have a money

  • if every one that has seen this video gave one dollar so we could all share the guitar... we would still be short 35000

  • Wank

  • Les Pauls are totally lame and not metal. And old mans guitar. Do not want.

  • @xPurpleDrinkx9001 Actually Les Paul guitars are made out of mahogany wood which gives them a darker sound, which means they could for metal and fit in pretty well and if you have ever seen the Epiphone Gothic Les pauls they are custom flat black with special fret inlays and stuff which makes them look "metal".

  • @bigducebob Looking metal =/= sounding metal. Sound =/= capabilities. Fail

  • @xPurpleDrinkx9001 Ha, Okay. Go play your Schecters kid. If I was in a huge metal act I'd be playing Fenders and Gibsons, just to fuck with people and get rid of that stereotype.
