can please someone help me? i downloaded the free trial and every time i log in, its ok for a while, with 600-800 ping, and all of a sudden it goes up to 40k ping and then i cant preform any action and start lagging which gets me killed, then i get logged out becuse theres an error with the server, please help me if you know what to do, i really want to play this game

@Perfectsinn Well this game doesn't have targeting. You press a mouse button to swing your weapon, you switch weapons like a traditional FPS style game. (like going between ranged, melee and magic) So yes, you can accidentally strike your team mates in that bloody combat. That's why you see the orc run in and out, cuz his weapon is huge, and he doesn't want to hit his team mates too.
@ThyPoetSkit what my clan does for magic and archery is if you hit them, you heal them, teammates that is, there is no chasing spells, spells go straight and archery you have to ARCH, melee is...melee
i was playing darkfall but i was going to try WoW with my friends but afther a week of WoW i got tierd of it. And i went back to darkfall agein. Wow is so boring you cant do anything only levling all the time and doing quest and instances. and pvp om wow is so boring. and if anyone is running afther you on wow you dont get the same fealing as in darkfall. because on wow you dont lose anything so its nothing to be afraid of.
They still need to upgrade the graphics in this, not to sound like a graphics-whore, cos I'm not! I'm just saying the game would be so much better if it did actually have better graphics too, man this game's graphics looks almost worse than WoW.

The idea of the game is great. But the 3d designs, animations, movements, visual and sound effects, are all miserable with no exceptions. They make the game look like 8 years old. The whole artistic side is not enough evolved, that's sad for these who sense it like me.. : / But at least, I hope that the game runs smoothly at a bigger variety of computers with these simple (and poor) visual effects (you know, it's a massive game!).

@awesomeskatevids i played darkfall for a few months and its nothing but grinding. i'm sure its fun as fuck when you have a high end character but it takes forever to get there. its also extremely broken. wow is the best mmo on the market. most other mmo's are just crappy wow clones that dont quite seem to get it right and some games, like darkfall, try to change it up and get pretty creative but theres still lots wrong with the game. and dont say only kids play wow, theres more adults than kids

@iron77mike77 WoW is well polished and a lot of money was thrown at it. It was also well advertised. DarkFall had so little advertisement it was hilarious, and unfortunately advertisement can make or break a game in the beginning. Age of Conan didn't sell enough pre-releases and thus didn't have the funding to polish their game, neither did Mortal Online or DarkFall. DarkFall was far more successful than these other 2 though. had they advertised...weellll... who knows?

Itll be about $15 a month to stay competitive with other MMO's BUT the fact being the laout of the game (THOUGH INGENIOUS) they tried to make it too "free" as in too realistic in your restrictions. unrestricted combat and full loot need tweaking. there is too much fighting in game, your JUST AS LIKELY to get killed by your own allies as you are the enemy. I like the idea but it NEEDS safe zones and some form of restriction otherwise itll ONLY apeal to a few hardcore pvp gamers.
i think the game was made for pure PVP if you want RPPVP or just RP go find a safe island or a place no one will look and start of there and try to keep out of combat but the game was based on PVP

Its not that hard to get decent gear. Almost everything can be crafted in Darkfall. Join a clan. This games economy is based on Socialism/communism and it works very well. Example. Clan spends 2 hours Mining Metal/Chopping lumber/Gatering Leather. Those Mats are given to crafter who make stuff for clanmates. Also everyone can do everything in DF so if you want to pick up 1 or more craft skills and make your own stuff you can. Dont wear what you cant afford to lose is the rule.
Yeah i understand u dude, in case of RYL sometimes happen but if u play pvp server the game is like neverending xD since the system of RYL is based, after lv95, to kill players from other races to get fame(with certain ammount u get a new kind of level that makes u a lil bit stronger) and medals (used to buy special stuff)

The Term of Beta would be beta testing. If a game hasnt reached version 1.0 that means the FIRST version has not been completed. Its in beta testing

for play darkfall on low seetings you dont need a big computer but on high you are going to need a god computer but my amd 4x 2.2 Ghz 4 gb 1066mhz ram and GTX 9800 i can run it on max graphics :) i hope ^^

They are not blocky. How is the world 2D?? Ever been in outlands?. Also rember the graphics are 10ish years ago. They dont aim for a photorelistic style, they aim for a fun cartoon style that will run well on all machiens which is why wow is so sucessfull.
Dude WoW's animation isnt magnificent, but darkfalls is reallly shit. It looks incredibly choppy and blocky, the characters run and move very stiffly, itsjust painful to watch. Im not a wowfag, iv played my fair share of RPGS, this happens to be one of the worst ones iv ever seen in terms of looks. It reminds of those freeware mmorpgs that just have crappy graphix

PvP is the epix failure of War... War failed because they actually thought pvp would last...
if anything WoW showed the world you can't make a mmo based on pvp...

As for an MMO based on PvP, I'm not so sure. I'd agree with that you can't make one based solely on PvP but I nevertheless feel that it can still offer qualitative PvP.
MMO PvP needs to feature risk vs reward, if you die you need to loose something substantial. Be that gear, gold, experience or arena rating etc.
WoW's dying? Hardly, WoW still has around 9m+ players and I'd be surprised if WAR even has more than 500k now.
WoW made MMO's mainstream and has created a HUGE demand for new MMO's, it's funny how neither WAR Online or AoC managed to meet expectations. Both games were extremely flawed with poor game design overall.
AoC had a bitchen combat system loved it. only thing was WAR decided to come out at a bad time thus making everyone from AOC leave. also AoC's end game content sucked due to rush of early release. This is why people need to be patient when games are in th emaking. otherwise they come out all shitty.
Personal Opinion. I thought the graphics were alright. Siege battles did cuck. The instanced world was alright didn't mind it. I had quests up till 60's?

9 million sunscriptions perhaps but to believe that they have 9 million active players is highly doubtful, more like a million probably actually still play on a daily basis, which is good but WoW is not the phenomenon it once was.

Didn't say it was dead said it was fading, which is an obvious statement but you should realize that Blizzard is not going to publicize their declining player base and will just keep touting the 9 million mark they had in their heyday.

@awesomeskatevids i played darkfall for a few months and its nothing but grinding. i'm sure its fun as fuck when you have a high end character but it takes forever to get there. its also extremely broken. wow is the best mmo on the market. most other mmo's are just crappy wow clones that dont quite seem to get it right and some games, like darkfall, try to change it up and get pretty creative but theres still lots wrong with the game. and dont say only kids play wow, theres more adults than kids

@iron77mike77 WoW is well polished and a lot of money was thrown at it. It was also well advertised. DarkFall had so little advertisement it was hilarious, and unfortunately advertisement can make or break a game in the beginning. Age of Conan didn't sell enough pre-releases and thus didn't have the funding to polish their game, neither did Mortal Online or DarkFall. DarkFall was far more successful than these other 2 though. had they advertised...weellll... who knows?

Itll be about $15 a month to stay competitive with other MMO's BUT the fact being the laout of the game (THOUGH INGENIOUS) they tried to make it too "free" as in too realistic in your restrictions. unrestricted combat and full loot need tweaking. there is too much fighting in game, your JUST AS LIKELY to get killed by your own allies as you are the enemy. I like the idea but it NEEDS safe zones and some form of restriction otherwise itll ONLY apeal to a few hardcore pvp gamers.

Its not that hard to get decent gear. Almost everything can be crafted in Darkfall. Join a clan. This games economy is based on Socialism/communism and it works very well. Example. Clan spends 2 hours Mining Metal/Chopping lumber/Gatering Leather. Those Mats are given to crafter who make stuff for clanmates. Also everyone can do everything in DF so if you want to pick up 1 or more craft skills and make your own stuff you can. Dont wear what you cant afford to lose is the rule.

Yeah i understand u dude, in case of RYL sometimes happen but if u play pvp server the game is like neverending xD since the system of RYL is based, after lv95, to kill players from other races to get fame(with certain ammount u get a new kind of level that makes u a lil bit stronger) and medals (used to buy special stuff)
Also RYL was the precursor of the ASDW fps mmorpgs :) and the jobs are really unique hehe im afraid that maybe im turning a fanboy D:!!! :fear:

The Term of Beta would be beta testing. If a game hasnt reached version 1.0 that means the FIRST version has not been completed. Its in beta testing
ALPHA testing (first test perios)
BETA testing (second test period)
Once they release version 1.0 it is in a full working game mode, WoW and warhammer are well past the finalized game version. NO they are not finished BY FAR because yes theyre constantly changeing BUT beta is a term used for test not full blown gameplay you're half right

Dude WoW's animation isnt magnificent, but darkfalls is reallly shit. It looks incredibly choppy and blocky, the characters run and move very stiffly, itsjust painful to watch. Im not a wowfag, iv played my fair share of RPGS, this happens to be one of the worst ones iv ever seen in terms of looks. It reminds of those freeware mmorpgs that just have crappy graphix

Because it's a polished game that appeals to a wide audience, I've yet to see an mmo offer the same level of quality content.
Main downfall is and always has been (aside for maybe in BC with arena) the PvP.
The PvE offers some of the best large co-up play as of yet.

Agreed, WAR failed with its PvP but it failed on many other levels aswell.
As for an MMO based on PvP, I'm not so sure. I'd agree with that you can't make one based solely on PvP but I nevertheless feel that it can still offer qualitative PvP.
MMO PvP needs to feature risk vs reward, if you die you need to loose something substantial. Be that gear, gold, experience or arena rating etc.

- The instanced world was just dissapointing for a s'posed next gen game.
- Siege battles didn't even work nor was there any point to them.
- GM's were utterly incompetent, couldn't even speak proper English. People actually got banned for ganking.
- There were no quests after lvl 30 or so. No items post 50.
- Graphics were system demanding and some things didnn't even look that good. Character animations were akward at best.
- Devs were in denial etc.

Personal Opinion. I thought the graphics were alright. Siege battles did cuck. The instanced world was alright didn't mind it. I had quests up till 60's?
I loved the combat system. I loved pking everyone in sight. -shrug-

i have to agree with theflossman wow is dying albeit slowly but it is dying and you know why it created a demand for new MMO's because it sucks

9 million sunscriptions perhaps but to believe that they have 9 million active players is highly doubtful, more like a million probably actually still play on a daily basis, which is good but WoW is not the phenomenon it once was.

So what is your basis for saying this? I for one find it highly unplausible that a mere 1/9 people pay for the subscription without playing on a frequent basis.
Also, why couldn't the same reasoning be made of just about any other MMO?
Nine million players isn't good, it's THE BEST there is and ever has been. NOTHING even comes close.
Saying WoW is dead is just silly.

Didn't say it was dead said it was fading, which is an obvious statement but you should realize that Blizzard is not going to publicize their declining player base and will just keep touting the 9 million mark they had in their heyday.

i have to agree that wow is fading, the game has somthing alone the lines of 10% of its ORIGINAL players left, maybe less now. They keep changing the game to cater to people who game casual.. and the problem with that is.... those people never keep playin the same game
