I see now why you replied at all. My 1st comment didn't sound the way I meant. I meant, a Chevy w/ big engine may make it through bogs that would swallow a Tracker, but put both into the woods, or a quarry, the Tracker can smoke the fullsize. I only wish that they were better on-road. I'm not the type to trade ability for comfort. They COULD be screwed together better; I lost my whole spare tire mount driving down the road. LOL. That aside, I LOVED mine; you should've seen where she went!
my dad got my 95 5 speed tracker for my first car and its bright green (gay) and the front fender is busted but its fun to drive, i wish i could throw a chevy 350 in it then it would have power but of course id go thru a whole tank of gas a day lol they only hold like 6 or 7 gallons considering 15 fills mine up full. im takin drivers test on monday hopefully ill pass then im taking it to our mudding spot and running it to hell! but i am worried bout interstate driving it shakes real bad =[
5-speed=perfect car. And I doubt the 350 would be a great idea; too heavy, and a Tracker SHOULD have a 4-banger. LOL. It'll be good for drivers test, but take the top down, or ditch the rear window. It is a soft-top, right? It's easy as hell to parallel park if you can see out rear. Get the alignment/wheels checked, for the shaking. They're hard enough to drive at speed w/o that! Don't turn too fast, and be ready for wind to try and blow you all over the road. It can be tricky, so be careful.
nah not taking the drivers test in my tracker im takin my moms jeep cuz im still a lil shakey driving stick and the tracker would and yea im worried bout the interstate cuz it will blow everywhere
I think he is in Low range, but Trackers aren't mud trucks. 1.6L four-cylinder? You need horsepower in the muck. Now see which can get through a grown over ATV trail the fastest; a Tracker or a Chevy pickup with a big-block. The right tool for the right job.
trackers are the perfect mudding vehicles cuz they're small, 4wd, and can go pretty much anywhere. so what if their engine is shit it costs me 15 bucks to fill up my gas tank and that lasts a week while your chevy is costing u 40-70 a week
Wait; I love Trackers, and would choose one over a 1/2ton ANY day. I meant, for real MUDDING, a Tracker is NOT ideal. A 1/2 ton with Boggers + big-block can go thru a swamp; a Geo can't. Notice how his engine is lugging down? Real mudding takes horsepower, which our Trackers don't have much of. But mud bogs ain't my thing. A Geo can fit ANYWHERE, and turn around on a cow-path. I had one, and I WILL own another. Unless I can find a Samurai 1st; it's the same truck, only looks cooler. TRACKERS=#1
