It's not very helpful that the video is highly compressed even playing on YouTube's HD. It doesn't let you see antialiasing or fine detail differences. From this video, the lighting looks better on the 360, but not much difference.
I bought the ps3 version because it was cheaper. I played the xbox demo month ago and as i put in the ps3 game i could not resist and took it out after 2 minutes of playing. It looks like a ps2 game. The colors on both versions in the video are identical to the original. I will trade it back in an get the xbox version before i waste my time on the ps3 crap.
Far as i know. In this comparison who ever made it. Set the PS3 to Limited Settings which equals = Whiter screen. Seems like they made the 360 darker that way color and shaders would be more visible. My point is, both systems are identical. If the Playstation 3 was set to full, the game would have looked the same. Not much of difference though. It's just whiter that's all. :D

the difference between versions is not that huge and the only thing i can tell is that both the game and the music kick ass. 360 owners had a point a year or two ago, now they haven't. Game developers are getting the hang of things with the ps3 and i've seen already plenty of games that look and play better on the ps3.
All those PS3 owners who constantly whine how shitty looking this game is, should realize that originally Bayonetta was intended as a 360 exclusive. Fortunately the developers changed their minds and the game was ported to PS3. This game is a gem, and as a PS3 owner I'm glad I can play it. Those minor issues mean nothing.

OK first this comparison does not prove anything because the ps3 version of bayonetta can look even better than the 360 version, it looks bad in this video cause the people from game trailers didn't configure the HDMI settings on the PS3, they just have to go to SETTINGS/DISPLAY SETTINGS/ then switch the RGB Full Range to FULL and then the Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr Super-White SWITCH TO ON. AND THAT'S IT.

yeah i've adjusted my ps3 and tv and now it looks like it is running at 1080p but the framerate is is a bit lower compared to the 360 but thats not a big deal.

I have played this demo game in PS3, as it's in 1080p, and look unmatchable. This is different that i don't like this game.
If you have seen the graphic of Heavenly Sword in PS3, you wouldn't be comparing in the first place. I don't own XBOX 360, but it's true that Heavenly Sword PS3, the graphic of that game, can not be comparable at all.
The PS3 version is blurrier however I agree with what poltergeistx @liltp404 said that nearly all games are exactly the same graphics. This is a one off.
of course the xbox version looks better BUT the ps3 version is by no means ''unplayable''. and this is not Sony's or Microsoft's fault: it's because of lazy developers (or in this case Sega, which did the port) that lack the professionalism of bringing the same experience to EVERYONE.
@liltp404 I disagree completely. There are game ports that are IDENTICAL, for example, Assassin's Creed 2 and Batman Arkham Asylum, released for both consoles, are really the same. The loss in quality in Bayonetta is really unforgivable. The same happened with Final Fantasy XIII, Square could have done a much better job in bringing the same quality over to the 360. At the end of the day my friend, developers are the ones at fault.
@poltergeistx No for Bayonetta that's the case, damn those lazy developers. But for Final Fantasy XIII it's the Xbox. They try their best to make it look good that's why there a total of 3 disc. But in the end it's just that the Xbox was not strong enough for FFXIII. I read it somewhere.
@Onlymaybe7 Well, in reality, the PS3 has more raw processing power but the 360 has a much much better graphics card, that is able to get a really good anti-aliasing (or in average joe's terms, it makes edges less jaggy). The PS3 can make better graphics though, but it is more difficult since developers have to use some of that raw processing power for graphics quality tasks. So... that difficulty is what brings us to this situation :(
OMY GOODNESS....would people stop arguing. I have both systems so logically i'd buy the superior version. If you dont then be content with the version you have its better to play a slightly inferior copy of the game then to not play the game at all;

it is not proven that ps3 has better graphics. this is not a matter of opinion or fact. me being a tester, i have to understand the technology of both systems. the ps3 has a faster data processor. the 360 has a better graphics card. the ps3 pushes some of its games graphics farther cuz of this processor and blu-ray tech inside. the 360 however can push graphics just as far, but developers have to find ways of better data usage for games. developers choose which system they feel more comfy with.

Ok, so I just played the demo. Mind you this was just the demo so I'm going to comment the game based on the demo.
From what I've experienced, the colors don't appear washed out to me on my T.V. (Gametrailers are a bunch of fags) However, out of all the games I've played on my PS3, this is game is the first game I have ever experienced blur. Basically, the game is blurry. I don't know if that is the same with the Xbox version.
Does the blur affect gameplay? No, but it does affect the quality of the game.
Also, with this demo, the loading issues appear to still be there.
In conclusion, this game is a very fun game. The only thing I didn't like about this game is controlling the camera with the right analog stick and there is no blocking. What I meant about the camera thing is when I push left, camera goes right, when I push right, camera goes left. Maybe you can change that in the full version of the game.

It sucks because imo PS3 controller is a lot better for these kinds of games. I tried the PS3 demo and thought that it wasn't so bad, then I tried the 360 demo and damn, that was better in every way. Sega (or whoever ported this) really screwed up on this one.
Why is the "you tube smudge" on the ps3 side so much more pronounced? You know, the transparent pixels the ruin alot of you tube vids. Im downloading the ps3 demo now and next week i'll compare the 360 and ps3 versions with my own eyes.

Textures don't beat it, I've said it before if YOU pay attention correctly, you'll notice little glittery pixels on the 360, but none on the PS3. Why's that you ask? Well, it was better rendered for textures. To be completely honest, reason being PS3 one is worse is because of the frame drops and loading screens. Loading screens I'm perfectly ok with. Frame drops I'm ok with it too. But, there are some Prima Donna gamers out there that demand perfection.

Glad I have all systems so I can get the best version of a game, like with this. Bayonetta does look super-slick on 360 and it's too bad those who get it on PS3 get a questionable port job; shame on you, Sega. Fantastic game, though; I dont even like CAGs like DMC or God of War and I'm loving this. I installed this to the 360 hd and the load times between chapters are no more than maybe 6 seconds (for even a new chapter), and they're Halo-like in their 'invisibility' in-game.
Yeah, thanks to Sega, I had to get a shoddier port, lol. Fun game nonetheless, and it looks alot better than what's shown in the video here. But the real annoyance about the PS3 version is the load times, there's no install feature for that version.
It's a dullness issue more than anything, I don't care to much about the loading times there's nothing that will stop me from playing this kick ass game, but still epic fail by SEGA
I believe that both machines are very capable but both offer very different options, just try playing a bluray on your Xbox 360 and see how far you get, lol, further to this I'd bet that the PS3 has more games that run at full 1080p resolution too. One final point Sega have done an awful job but the sales of the PS3 will not suffer because of one publisher, and who knows maybe they will release a special edition very much like the Devil May Cry series, bet that won't be so shabby!!!
I own a PS3 and won't even be renting this game at all as I can play it on my nephews xbox 360 when I buy it for him. The issues on the PS3 version are apparent but there are other games which the xbox 360 does not have, Uncharted 2 for instance so all this talk of which game system is better is irrelevant. You will. The PS3 version never has a framerate that reaches "good" levels. It's incredibly choppy at best, the entire game is viewed through this bizarre dust filter that basically removes all color from the game, and the loading is probably the worst this generation.

avernious, platinum games (developers of 360 version) went out of their way to make it clear that Sega did the conversion (it even says "converted by sega" or something on the opening titles on the ps3 version), and for good reason :P
All I know was there was someone else doing the work on it because platinum wouldn't. Not that I care I don't need a scantly clad lady running around basically reenacting DMC stuff... I'm generally not interested in Bayonetta at all.
I've got more original games to spend my time and cash on. ~_^

@poltergeistx No for Bayonetta that's the case, damn those lazy developers. But for Final Fantasy XIII it's the Xbox. They try their best to make it look good that's why there a total of 3 disc. But in the end it's just that the Xbox was not strong enough for FFXIII. I read it somewhere.

@Onlymaybe7 Well, in reality, the PS3 has more raw processing power but the 360 has a much much better graphics card, that is able to get a really good anti-aliasing (or in average joe's terms, it makes edges less jaggy). The PS3 can make better graphics though, but it is more difficult since developers have to use some of that raw processing power for graphics quality tasks. So... that difficulty is what brings us to this situation :(

exceptionl fun I play it all the time during the summer with my mum she is incredibly good at it. I was lucky enough to download the game perfectly free for my ps3 from; 115 games. com there are hundreds and the best thing is they are all totally free oh i almost forgot 2:02 was excellent

it is not proven that ps3 has better graphics. this is not a matter of opinion or fact. me being a tester, i have to understand the technology of both systems. the ps3 has a faster data processor. the 360 has a better graphics card. the ps3 pushes some of its games graphics farther cuz of this processor and blu-ray tech inside. the 360 however can push graphics just as far, but developers have to find ways of better data usage for games. developers choose which system they feel more comfy with.

@NockandBolt okay. look. i am an at home game tester.i have both a 360 and a ps3. ps3 does have better graphics on most games. a majority of third party games does. but this person did not screw with their picture quality because this is an official game website. and after testing, bayonetta is by-far, superior on 360 for some reason. this game is one of the only third party games better on 360. but its superior in many ways on 360. dont ask y. but that is a fact by game developers word also.

Ok, so I just played the demo. Mind you this was just the demo so I'm going to comment the game based on the demo.
From what I've experienced, the colors don't appear washed out to me on my T.V. (Gametrailers are a bunch of fags) However, out of all the games I've played on my PS3, this is game is the first game I have ever experienced blur. Basically, the game is blurry. I don't know if that is the same with the Xbox version.

Does the blur affect gameplay? No, but it does affect the quality of the game.
Also, with this demo, the loading issues appear to still be there.
In conclusion, this game is a very fun game. The only thing I didn't like about this game is controlling the camera with the right analog stick and there is no blocking. What I meant about the camera thing is when I push left, camera goes right, when I push right, camera goes left. Maybe you can change that in the full version of the game.

So, is it worth $60? Well, what I can say about the PS3 version from my experience, it's not. Others may think differently.
In terms of Frames per second, I didn't experience much lag. But then again, this is just the demo.
If you watch Bayonetta Lens of Truth, you will see PS3 version dips to 20 FPS at times and that can definitely ruin the experience of a game.
I will be getting this game, but later later later on in the near future when they drop the price.

It sucks because imo PS3 controller is a lot better for these kinds of games. I tried the PS3 demo and thought that it wasn't so bad, then I tried the 360 demo and damn, that was better in every way. Sega (or whoever ported this) really screwed up on this one.

Why is the "you tube smudge" on the ps3 side so much more pronounced? You know, the transparent pixels the ruin alot of you tube vids. Im downloading the ps3 demo now and next week i'll compare the 360 and ps3 versions with my own eyes.

Nice spelling there pal. It doesn't have worse graphics, IF you really payed attention in the comparison videos, you would see little glittery pixels on the 360 and smooth,crisp textures on PS3. Sega DID play favorites here.

Textures don't beat it, I've said it before if YOU pay attention correctly, you'll notice little glittery pixels on the 360, but none on the PS3. Why's that you ask? Well, it was better rendered for textures. To be completely honest, reason being PS3 one is worse is because of the frame drops and loading screens. Loading screens I'm perfectly ok with. Frame drops I'm ok with it too. But, there are some Prima Donna gamers out there that demand perfection.

the PS3 version is worse because of petty things like obnoxious loading screens and framerate issues,on the 360 you don't have to deal with that and you even get better graphics
the excessive loading screens really hurt the experience of a fast-paced action game,I'm a PS3 owner/fan myself and I still firmly believe that the 360 won this battle

Glad I have all systems so I can get the best version of a game, like with this. Bayonetta does look super-slick on 360 and it's too bad those who get it on PS3 get a questionable port job; shame on you, Sega. Fantastic game, though; I dont even like CAGs like DMC or God of War and I'm loving this. I installed this to the 360 hd and the load times between chapters are no more than maybe 6 seconds (for even a new chapter), and they're Halo-like in their 'invisibility' in-game.

Yeah, thanks to Sega, I had to get a shoddier port, lol. Fun game nonetheless, and it looks alot better than what's shown in the video here. But the real annoyance about the PS3 version is the load times, there's no install feature for that version.

I believe that both machines are very capable but both offer very different options, just try playing a bluray on your Xbox 360 and see how far you get, lol, further to this I'd bet that the PS3 has more games that run at full 1080p resolution too. One final point Sega have done an awful job but the sales of the PS3 will not suffer because of one publisher, and who knows maybe they will release a special edition very much like the Devil May Cry series, bet that won't be so shabby!!!

I own a PS3 and won't even be renting this game at all as I can play it on my nephews xbox 360 when I buy it for him. The issues on the PS3 version are apparent but there are other games which the xbox 360 does not have, Uncharted 2 for instance so all this talk of which game system is better is irrelevant. You will. The PS3 version never has a framerate that reaches "good" levels. It's incredibly choppy at best, the entire game is viewed through this bizarre dust filter that basically removes all color from the game, and the loading is probably the worst this generation.

If Platinum made the PS3 version of the game they would look the exact same.
Comparing Dead Space on PS3 Vs Dead Space on Xbox would make more sense since they are from the same company Visceral Games.
In lamest terms these are two different versions.
This dose not prove that Xbox 360 has better multi platform games.

GT5 runs at 1080p 60fps!
But with 3D at 1080p it runs at 24fps wich is awesome!

Regardless framerate is a good example of something that is a tie in between gameplay and graphics. However I'm talking about visual appeal, not the pace at eye candy moves.

avernious, platinum games (developers of 360 version) went out of their way to make it clear that Sega did the conversion (it even says "converted by sega" or something on the opening titles on the ps3 version), and for good reason :P

All I know was there was someone else doing the work on it because platinum wouldn't. Not that I care I don't need a scantly clad lady running around basically reenacting DMC stuff... I'm generally not interested in Bayonetta at all.
I've got more original games to spend my time and cash on. ~_^
