  • I think he lost his 11 herbs & spices...

  • thats awesome! Ive been trying to get this for a while now but Finally understand now!

i get it. It will take lots, and lots of practice to get up to Buck's speed.

    1) Tap/Swipe with picking hand on 12th fret or anywhere for that matter.

tap hard, and swipe the fingers in a rolling motion.

    2) with the fretting hand use cromatic scales or tritone pattern based stuff.

Buckethead seems to be improvising which means you can move these techniques around like pattern based shred ideas.

    Thanks!

  • Man! What the year and how number Guitar World? I need tabs..

  • What the that made me shit my pants!!! >: (

  • insulting the sound heled the sound

  • toca re bien pero es un pelotudo barbaro jajaja

  • king

  • so that's what tap dancing looks like...

  • so thats what bucketheads face looks like....

  • botnus used to be called dungeon stilt. i guess at that time it wasnt botnus yet. the riff sound different. just saying.

  • 3:27 Shawn Lane Tape not Song

    4:20 Tape not Take

  • I like this version better that the "Edited" version as you get to hear about the slaughter house & stuff. I heard he wears the bucket in Protest more than to conceal Identity. Still; Bucket or not, this guy is a total genius .

  • He's soooooooo awesome!

  • He has nice hair.

  • He's performing for you, i'm sure when he;s practicing he's not writing on the wall.

It's just something your gonna have to accept cause i doubt he's gonna change for you.

  • At the beginning of the video I thought he said "It's kinda like dating a whore"

  • If anybody has tabs for this, please share!!

  • figure 4 is my favorite...TABS?

  • why isnt the video called 'betcha can't play this'

  • @T1G3R576 Why should it be? <.<

  • @reikyar Jealous

  • @reikyar lol, yeah, he may or may not be ugly. But who cares, I've listened to lots of his music and quite frankly I don't care if he's a total nutcase, as long as he keeps playing, cause I need music like his'. He's not hurting anyone with what he does, so why bother the guy, let him do what he wants. I wish I could do all the things I wanted without caring how people would judge me.

  • It's kind of a shame that someone as talented as Buckethead has to hide his identity so he'll be respected for his music and his music alone, unlike today's ego-maniac pop stars.

  • Buckethead should do a "Betcha Can't Play This" for Guitar World...that would be so intense. Thumbs up if you agree.

  • @paranoidandroid695 instead of playing a lick that's impossible to play, he horribly traumatizes

  • @MechaSixVII haha true that

  • if the whole country listened to him and the residents and watched anime, we would be so smarter

  • i think he acts weird on purpose to mess with people

  • buckethead i love you and i want you very very very very very much!!! kiss me s2

  • man hes so wierd hehe......

  • What's with the scratching fingers on wall?

  • @thor353 makes nubbing go easier

  • i was waiting for him to make the puppet jump and try to scare someone...

whyd he have to pick that one?

  • 6:03 funny as hell

  • Comment removed

  • does he do drugs idk y ive just always been curious

  • what effects he using for figure 6?

  • Around about 3:05 that puppet starts pissing me off...

  • Around about 3:05 that puppet starts pissing me off...

  • :) Bucketheadd

  • This would have been 10x cooler if he actually was in a chicken coop. xD

I think he's rubbing his fingers on the wall as part of his act.

  • @1289matt95 i think it's more to dry his fingers for gripping the strings better.

  • @prototypep4 Now that I think of it your probably right because his hand is probably pretty sweaty after putting the little mask thing on his hand

  • @1289matt95 gets his fingers rough and ready.

  • he scrathes his hand on the wall to check his callases on his fingers if there hard enough

  • He talks with his guitar :)

  • hes such a freak, but hes amazing, plus those octave desplacements are really fun to play

  • @jake9308 His name is Herbie. <3 BBucketheadd

  • Ok That puppet, is creeping the shit out of me!

  • Hes Simply A genius!!!

  • Buckethead = Inhuman

  • Buckethead is a truly amazing guitarist. Soothsayer is inspirational and gives me chills everytime I hear the part where it goes really high pitched. Though to be honest, this man not only inspires me; he scares the shit out of me.

  • holy crap. enough said

  • I like how some times he plays different solos in Jordan live

  • i love the PG reference!

  • Vai, Becker, Batio, And Buckethead (my fauvority guitarrist)

  • @pablok1mirko he's also my fauvority guitarist too

  • He just spit random word and story.

  • It's really take a lot of time and energy to make his puppet talk.

  • figure 6 defenitely sounds like a Paul gilbert song.....paul gilbert pwns him

  • amazing!

  • Comment removed

  • Godamn figue five!!

  • he has a different style than everybody which i like

  • He's weird but has really cool style

  • is figure 4 off a song?

  • @x3MagneticFire Botnus by Buckethead and Serj.

  • All fans of Buckethead must buy Secret Recipe!!

Seriously, it's an awesome DVD totally worth it.

  • 4:27 why was he touching The Wall?

  • I'm thinking he did to to dry off his hands so he could have more grip for tapping, that or he's goofy as hell, which we all know he is.

  • no thats a way of telling how he taps on the guitar. and he is not goofy, he just had a hard ass life, so shut up about things you dont know anything about.

  • Kid, you're an imbecile. He did NOT have a "hard ass life" he grew up with a loving family, played sports and had plenty of friends. And I do know what I'm talking about. Don't come onto a Buckethead video and start harassing people, The Bucket wouldn't take too kindly to that.

    P.S.

    Goofy isn't always an insult.

    Double P.S.

    You're goofy (insult).

  • to wipe seat off his hands

  • *sweat

  • Holy crap. The figure 2 is insane.

  • yeah he is pretty much what you see on the video. even ozzy said that the guy was crazy and refused to change when he asked him to be his guitar player. but crazy or not BUCKETHEAD RULES!!!!!!!

  • this guy is fucked up

  • figure 4 is my fav...Tabs anywhere??

  • he has that tuned half a step down, so pretty much what you do is hold down all 3 top string on the 2nd fret *half step down tuneing* then do the action he does 0-00- then hit the A and D string then its easy to figureout from there

  • *facepalm* use google

  • amazing guitarist

  • Does buckethead have a mental disorder?

  • Comment removed

  • no buckethead does not have a mental disorder, it's all just part of the gimmick. buckethead, however, does act like he has autism when he really doesn't

  • @HarryTheRockerManiac

If he does have a mental disorder and that's what makes him play like he does... i want it too.

  • @HarryTheRockerManiac Lol no. It's a character.

  • What does he keep tapping at the bottom of his guitar? is it like a picking-button? if it is how does it work???

  • @elementsk8r106

It's a killswitch. It momentarily shuts the sound off... It's cool. I have one on my guitar

  • its a killswitch

  • I think he just wants to keep his privacy. Also, I dont think he is actually demented and autistic in real life. I think he just gets pleasure out of having a second identity like that. I wouldnt be suprised if he has genius iq from the types of songs he writes and the memory he must have to keep over two hundred songs in his in his head. ( hes got like 30 albums last i checked.)

  • @REPTARisGNARLY

remembering 200 songs would be an autistic trait though...

  • He said that he was very shy and if he could he would get a surrogate person to hide behind while he played guitar

  • @REPTARisGNARLY at the cactus club sound check with the deli creeps he talks perfectly normal.

  • @REPTARisGNARLY more, and like 900 songs has he made.

  • @REPTARisGNARLY Agreed. He is a true genius, and always will be. A lot of people instantly dismiss him when they first see him on stage or something, but if they really listen to the music, there's a lot to be learned from it. I never want to see his face, it would take away from the mystery.

  • @REPTARisGNARLY I actually know a close friend of his and he does it for the privacy and he is actually a pretty guitarist from a famous band but its not the people that everyone thinks it is

  • @REPTARisGNARLY Actually the artist himself is autistic. Demented however he is not.

  • @Gaeuvyen He's not autistic.

  • @judecedrick136 Yea he is, his parents even said he was. So I'm going to believe his parents public statement over some random person over the internet. Do some research before you reply.

  • @Gaeuvyen no he wasn't, he's real name is brian caroll he's little nerdy about comics and movies, he just created buckethead so people don't go to his house and ask for his autograph plus he has really big stage fright. maybe you should do some research not me

  • @judecedrick136 Once again I'm going to say, I'm going to believe his family over you. I never mentioned anything about why he chose the stage persona Buckethead, you brought that up.

  • @Gaeuvyen give the link if it's true! and yeah try teaching a autistic person guitar

if you could give me the link and if it is true i will lower myself and admit i am wrong

  • @judecedrick136 It was a public statement buddy. And a lot of autistic people have learned guitars, in fact a lot of autistic people have grown up to be some of the best artists out there.

  • @judecedrick136 I've got to admit I was wrong about the autistic playing guitar part but you are a liar!!! oh yeah like his parents just show up saying his autistic!

  • @REPTARisGNARLY he has kids and a wife from what i know.

  • TY for TranslaTE MAN!

  • Love him because he's an artist and not a whore for money and fame.

  • bucketheads amazing at guitar...but this is a lttle creepy lol

  • cool but i dont see how this is a "lesson"

  • he must have problems in his real life

    i feel sorry for him

    but good skills

  • meee 2

  • I think he says "in your mind or imagination" at 1:01.

  • hes fucking insane

and thats why we love him

  • This guy is disturbed....but he makes great music

  • i dont know how anybody but buckehead can do the 3 or 4 nub tab i mean it look so difficult to do

  • I've seen other people do it, but I know what you mean. It must take a ton of practice. As much as I try I still suck.

  • 42,000th view wooooot

  • I really think this guy has social phobia; I know a guy who can play guitar like this and he has it, too. Not to say that all guitar players have social phobia.

I bet he's a nice guy. Or at least interesting.

  • Guns'N'Roses, said that he made it nearly impossible for even his closest friends to keep contact with him, so you may be right.

  • He hasn't^_^ It's just a gimmick, search wikipedia for Buckethead (or Brian Carroll) and you'll see that all this buckethead thing came after his twentys, before that he went to paul gilbert for lessons and so. It's all for the show you know what I mean?

  • The young Brian went to Pebber Brown for lessons. The Paul Gilbert thing was merely the icing on an already well established cake.

  • He's just the Best ♥.♥

  • how is octave displacement like "trying to go in three directions and getting stuck in the middle" ?

  • @sofakinggroovy

He means the sound of "octave displacements".

  • Don't question it, just embrace it.

  • He doesn't have any problems. He's actually very shy and lets his guitar do the talking. And with interviews he lets "Herbie" talk. Buckethead never really "Talks"

  • What's the song from figure 6? :n

  • What the fuck is wrong with this guy.

  • where i can find the tab????

    cool video XD 5 stars

  • google some of these:

    octave displacement

    botnus tab

  • wtf is with that mask what is it from anyone know !

  • It seems to be his ONLY form of communication...in just about everything interviews, life ect.

  • you can buy them at almost any costume shop ,there just called "plain male mask"

i had to get one for halloween

  • Nice lil 'chicken lullaby' at the end.

  • lolo 2:51 to 3:55

  • 1:44 "The slaughterhouse can be a real inspiring place to go!" HAHAHAHA!

  • I saw buckethead in my dreams that he was riding a smaal bike then he fall down and crys then he begin to sing LALALALAA ..and I was hearing his music in that dream... hehe it was a strange dream

  • cool dream man!

  • @imadrifai Lucky Bastard i want to have a dream with BH and like Big Sur Moon in the back that would be epic

  • hey leary its me cazmohelper! nice video!

  • and is he like crying

  • does he have speech problems

  • @JORDANJJ22 No he has no mental, physical, speech problems he is just wierd but that is what makes him so kickass

  • that´s so scary and amazing at the same time!!!

  • lol tabs? whoever tabs this is crazy.

  • a tip if you're a beginner download the video lessons and slow them down so you can see the step by step process

  • why does no one care about figure 3???

    amazing shred!

  • where did buck get that hand puppet at 6:35

  • two words Barney Frank

  • What a weird fellow.

  • this guy has had way too much acid!

  • NO, JUST NO

  • what's Fig.4 from?!?!? PLEASE TELL ME!!

  • Botnus

  • Botnus.

There are two versions. Vocals and non vocals

  • where do i get the tabs for this lesson?

  • i kinda agree jimi was great but the guitar players nowadays are far better.

  • You know nothing about Hendrix saying that

  • You really cant compare, hendrix will always be known for creating one the best guitar solos and licks, plus lots of stuff that is played now is influenced by hendrix. He did amazing melodic patterns.

I love buckedhead, he is a great guitarist. I have listened to him more, but dont speak of stuff you dont fully understand. You cant just pick one side to know about, you have to understand what hendrix did first...

  • go kill yourself lmao. you really have no clue what you are talking about.

  • uhhh, that makes no sense, something went WRONG?! what the hell?! .... music can be whatever the hell you want it to be, there's nothing wrong or right when it comes to guitar playing.

AAAAAAnd, what grudge are you holding against speed? coz speed has ALWAYS existed in music, classical pieces from bach or paganini had even MORE speed than anything Vai could ever play.

But hey, its all cool with Buckethead fans, cheers!

  • There is nothing wrong with speed, the whole problem is that some guys seem to be focussing on beging fast, and not nesacerilly making good MUSIC (a good example would be Dragonforce)

When I see Eddie van Halen shred, it is cool and works for the music.

But there are guys that shred for the sake of shredding, which I think is a shame as indeed the music comes first.

Lots of jazz is fast too, but it adds something It can act as a climax for a song or solo

In the end its just a matter of taste

  • buckthead > van halen + hendrix

  • Bullcrap. Hendri> Buckethead anyday
