I hate the new Illinois law that requires everyone to have 50 hours of practice before we get our licenses. I got my permit right after freshman year, and I got my license almost two years later, even though I added extra minutes. When I went to go get my license, they didn't even check my sheet with the 50 hours on it that have been signed by my parents every time. I am still mad.

Well, all joking aside, you might. That is what happened to my niece. My suggestion would be to learn to drive in all conditions, take a year of practice and then drive without extra kids in the car until you are 18,

Man tehre is too much too ask. To get a permit what documents do you need...What examination, or how long does it take of training till you get it? And permit you can drive a car but only with a parent? if thats true i mean...not cool but i can live with that.

each state is different. In Illinois, you can get your permit when you are 15 (I think) and license when you are 16. There is on the road training (80 hours) with a parent or parent and one sibling in the car, and some formal "driver training" classes to be taken.

Oh ok thanks man. I drive my dad's car in the country side since I was 9 years old of age. I started driving at 9 I'm turning 16, here in philly you can get a permit at 16. So yeah i'm just worried. Nice driving by your son I mean to actually let your own son drive for th few first times, when you are in the car, would be pretty scary.

yeah states are alot different like in iowa u can get ur permit at 14, and in tennessee u have to be 15 so it made me made wen i was almost 14 than i moved to tennessee lol

Same in Kentucky, but here you only need to keep it for six months before you can take the test. But in that six months, you have to log at least sixty hours of driving.

Didn't your state change it to seventeen last year?

Yah, to get your provisonal license here, you need to be 17 and have your permit for atleast 6 months, you dont have to log driving time at all

The first time my father took me out driving, I did so well that he asked me if I wanted to drive home. I said no. When I took my license test back in April, I was so nervous that I was shaking. The tester said "Why are you shaking?" I said "I'm nervous. You're nervous," he said, "I gotta ride with you." I will absolutely never forget it. Congratulations. Don't let him get his license till he's 18.

Way to go, Eric! Judging from this video, he did an excellent job! My daughter Kathy has her driving permit now as well, there were a few nervous moments at first... but now she's a better driver than I am. At least that's what she thinks lol
