  • You went too slow for me to be able to focus on what you were saying :(

  • Good job Gary Neville

  • god, hearing you is like hearing about myself, im very happy i found you im from mexico and they have very little info about AHDH and it was till i move to the us where i could really understand that stuff that made me feel so stupid, was AHDH, i used to be so depress becouse i didnt knew what was wrong with me. Anyway thank you for this blog, very helpfull

  • @PriscillaHuffman Thanks for the comment. If you have any questions just send a message. :)

  • Where to start... its a hard thing for me to explain how to wrap your head around such an alien concept that a drug most psychiatrist believe are safe, could be very harmful in the long term to the brain, and how could the pharmaceutical companies get away with putting out a medication that causes alot of problems in the long term, and why don't we hear about it in the news.

Most people aren't aware of scientific & regulatory corruption.

  • @uptonstclair Good comments.

  • @uptonstclair Good comments.

  • The ironic thing about the meds is yes they increase your dopamine while you are on them (aka while they are working), which heightens your ability to focus, but over months and years of using them the brain slowly decreases the dopamine receptor as a response to this unnatural heightened state. This means eventually whenever you are off your meds, your consentration will be worse then it was back in jan 2010.

An identical thing happens with other stimulants such as caffeine addiction.

  • @uptonstclair It was a very interesting comment you wrote about the brain has an even more decreace in concentration after you come off the Meds as I,m feeling at the moment that my concentration is not at its best and I even feel more ADHD know than I did before????

  • @ginsengchris Yes, very very very gradually (maybe over the course of years) your concentration and ADHD will get worse.

This is what happened to me. I took a variety of adhd meds for over a decade.

    look at these studies

  • @uptonstclair I stoped takeing the Meds about 1 month ago and I feel very anxious but I can put that down to the fact that I,m going to start studying in october and due to the fact I wasted my teenage years doing stupid things I just don,t want to fail as I am 34 and not getting younger. So I do hope its just that and not what you have experienced???

  • Ohh yes, We 18+ year olds whom are either college or work force members need the recources WAY more than kids. Kids deffinetly need the assistance, but ADULTS have bills, scheduals (other than what cartoon to watch, what video game is released, what time to *cough cough..kids..cough*). we have our survival at stake, and no teachers parents or sympathy to help us. Its the worst ever because of the pace of this world...as I mentioned just in the last 10 years. Each viewer im sure can relate.

  • I am with you my friend with the ever so fast technoligy. How on earth can we concentrate with all this info flying threw the air as we have just trouble enough with the info flying through our heads. I do agree. Everything these days is E-mail, fax, ever so fast mobiles and so on.

  • I just read about Dyscalculia, that must be tuff. I am not very good with maths myself. :)

  • Thanks for your kind words. :)

  • Your helping to spread the word.... and bring awareness to these struggles about real world ADD. MUCH THAKS!!

  • I think aswell that its all geared twards kids because they are the ones with charted sucess(grades, tests, homework) and parents who care. Adults are just eyed at as failiers or eff ups if they suffer. its NOT just a problem for kids. Im a college stufdent and while some may think of me as a "college kid", im an adult in my 20s who suffers from this greatly. I find everyday activities a struggle. I also have Dyscalculia and finding this out was one of those "Ahhh haah!" moments.

  • I think the attention(recent) about ADD, is magnified by technology. I dont mean JUST the spread of information, although this is true, I mean that the pressures of this fast paced modern world....and its competitiveness.....just in the last 10years. Its so crazy. And for a kid and CERTAINLY EVEN MORE SO an adult with ADD.... we kinda fight this and struggle to just keep our heads afloat in this world. I agree with you compleatly... adults need way more help with it. Recources and awareness.
