  • I didn't know Howard Stern could doo wop!!

  • What happened to doo wop? All I hear on the radio is "I wanna hump you tonight" and "I shoot ya in ya chest ill wet ya

  • great song.

  • Outstanding!

  • The original was NOT done by Frankie Lymon EVER. It was Frankie's brother..Lewis Lymon and the Teenchords on the Fury label. LEwis performed this on the PBS doo wop special. Lots of confusion since at times, Lewis continues to tour with the Teenagers(his deceased brother's old group. Both brothers AND their groups were and are super talented!

  • @soundproductions1 i though they both wrote it because i was watching a video where lewis lymon was preforming and he said the is a song my brother and i wrote back in the day with the teen chords thats what i herd ? :/

  • great slide-

  • GOTTA LOVE IT....YUP

  • Who else but Kenny Vance and the original Teenagers could ever pull this off in a parking lot? no one! I loved the original one with Frankie but I had to listen to this quite a few times. Great recording and filming considering it was a parking lot--Fkin Fantastic! Thanks for the post Schlockumentaries and the video @Brooklyn50s. I am totally impressed!

  • I found Gadaffi! Who knew he could sing so well?

  • I would gladly pay a ticket to this parking lot (hahaha). Watching the video is great already. imagine for those there at that moment... Man... That is one of those moments you wish the time stopped... Whoa! Great. Thank you so much for sharing it here.

  • There should be video of this in the Hall of Fame.

All I hear in a parking lot is someone's sub-woofers.

  • lovin it...!

  • Too awesome!

  • For being unrehearsed this was amazing. What a tribute to the teenagers. RIP Frankie

  • Doesn't get any better than this! Doo Wop harmony at it's best. Long live doo wop!!

  • Doo Wop! THE Best!!!

  • simply wonderful. you guys still have it. great memories.

  • This video is absolutely priceless. What great talents.

  • Actually im doing it in my grp

  • GREAT sound HERMAN

  • Just an impromptu rehearsal and these guys STILL rock the house!

  • Love this vid so much, such a feel good sound. Would love to have been stood in front of them when they did this - bet that bass on the right was really rich!

  • simply fantastic..........

  • Outstanding!

  • Still a faverite of mine...THANK YOU

  • I just came across this post this morning. What a treat! I recently saw the Teenagers at a concert in Westbury Long Island, and I see Kenny Vance many times at concerts all around the New York area. Both great shows, and Kenny Vance still has an amazing voice every time I see him. This is the first time I saw them do this song together. How great was that? I'm just curious as to who recorded it and got such great sound out of this meeting in a parking lot. Great post, thanks!

  • @Brooklyn50s Hi and thank you. I shot this video it was when i first started shooting and I didn't know the settings on the camera but it was just one lucky shot I guess. I have shot hundreds of videos since then but this was the first

  • @Schlockumentaries Well for a first timer you caught it all and didn't make the classic mistake of shooting a ping pong match. Most people jump all over in a dizzying frenzy trying to show everything in front of the camera, but you held the shot steady and included the group with the main subject on Kenny singing the lead. You moved only when the shot called for it. B.t.w., I'm a network television cameraman so the critique comes from a professional. Nice job, and thanks again for posting it.

  • Whats so nice about old men humming

  • @ThisTime4africa black & white co-habitating & enjoying each others company while contributing something positive, that's what is beautiful about it. but you needed to be told & could not recognize it yourself. true ignorance on your behalf...... greetings from NY,enjoy =-)

  • @ThisTime4africa

    Because it real music!

  • It does not get any better than this. What a real treat was to find this moment in time. I want more.

  • Great impromptu doo wop!!...Thanks Kenny Vance with The Teenagers!!

  • hey, just stopping by and checkin out

  • its a shame that sherman and joe had to die so young...i wish they were still part of the group!

  • "Old School" the way music should always be!!..

  • Respond to this video...

  • NO FREAKIN' "AUTOTUNE"!!!!

    Just PURE BUTTAH!!!!

  • Thank you so much. Just stirred my soul & made me happy. Just like the old days singing on the corner.

  • singing soul to soul brotha to brotha ..acapellaaaaa!....AND IT SURE SOUNDS GOOD TO ME!!!

  • This is absolutely great. How many singers today can sing acapella without any music or technology helping them? Most singers today are frauds, when you ee them live, they sound nothing like their cd. These guys sound as good as the record and without the music! Great!!!!

  • Fabuloso, esta canción es preciosa, podría alguien poner la letra de esta canción?

    Me encanta!!

  • Hey Mr. bass-man can you teach me to...

    .. bom-ba-ba-boom-waa ?

  • Thank you all for that! Made my day! Only thing missing is a barrel fire in the middle!

  • great <3

  • they sound better then som of todat's artist in the studio do

  • DooWop talent never dies!

  • I just can dream about how fun it would be to grow up in the fifties. I'm 18 and almost everyone in this age today sit with computers, and play wow etc.

They just disappear more and more from the reality. I'm so jealous of you guys!

  • It's nothing more than a bunch of guys standing around in a parking lot and singing, and yet they still sound way better than 95% of the singers out there today. No recording studio, no Auto-Tune, not even a rehearsal. How can they sound so good under such lousy conditions? The answer is simple... it's called natural talent.

  • doo wop..in its truest and purest form....ACAPELLA STYLE BABY! does it really get any better

  • doowop forever

  • This is amazing!

  • Man oh man! You guys have still got it!

  • Take notes all you singers that think you're REAL singers

  • Nothing better. How lucky were you to get this!!!

  • Wow..some real musicians! Good job!

  • WOhh nice :):)

  • Great, great stuff. Thanks very much for sharing it.

  • Man, these are PRO'S! GREAT!

  • An absolute magic moment.

  • malo....dats wat i call music

  • Class act what u want hes from Philly Bravo

  • Fantastic Post.

  • At 1:30, when Kenny puts down his coat and bag - he's totally transcending the moment - great stuff!...."That made the weekend - I'm done" - After those 3 priceless minutes, you know what they're talkin' about......

  • That is simply amazing! If I could just go back in time and spend a day in 1958, oh what I would give!!!!

  • wow great harmony

  • wow. gotta luv it

  • damn this was good

  • I love ittttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

  • True O.G.s, much respect

  • this is music at its best thanks drew

  • outstanding rock&roll forever

  • This is TRUE HISTORY !!!!

  • This is TRUE HISTORY !!!!

  • This is CLASSIC!!!! Kenny Vance and the ORIGINAL Teenagers!!!!! WOW!!! Love it!!

  • I love it! I know it's Kenny Vance with Herman Santiago and Jimmy Merchant of the Teenagers and I think it's Bobby Jay singing bass, but who is the other guy? This is so great! Nancy1942

  • Bobby Jay is in fact, a DJ and was also bass of The Laddins ("Did It"), back when.

  • Kenny Vance COULD and CAN deliver the goods!!!!!!

    wkj

  • I'M a doo wop fan and I loved this.....think of all the fun they are having !

  • In the parking lot....GREAT!!!

  • Oh shit is right ! Kenny & the teens can still kick ass with harmony, energy & the most beautiful quality of all.....their love & flair for the best music that lines our heart & soul. God Bless you guys. Long live Doo-Wop !!

  • 1st class thanks

  • Alright. One last time. Dickie Harmon, Herman Santiago, Jimmy Merchant, Kenny Vance, Bobby Jay. Capisce?

  • I believe that is Frankie Lymon's brother(the one holding documents) - Lewis Lymon.

  • awesome....

  • woww, really good. where can i go to see more videos like this????

  • If that happened near me, it would have been the high point of my year. You don't feel soul like that in music these days.

  • RnB/Acapella, dosen't get any better than this.

  • wow i never get tired of watching this.outstanding

  • Awesome! Makes me want to sing in a group like that!

  • There is only one original member in this video and that is Herman santiago. The orignal bass Sherman died of a heart attack. Another member the baritone Joe died also. We all know frankie died. Jimmy Merchant is retired and no longer sings with the group. So that leaves one Herman.

  • @jonboy0972 , no two originals in this video, the short guy in the orange shirt is an original and the guy with the grey hat is an original

  • Who originally sang this masterpiece??y

  • Frankie's brother, Lewis Lymon, and his group, the Teen Chords.

  • May you tell me if the man on the right side is a member of Frankie Lymon´s group?

  • HI, that's Bobby J? I think, he's a DJ and not part of the original group, but Herman and Jimmy Merchant on the cell phone were

  • Thank you kindly for your answer. Have a nice rest of the day...Bye

  • The one in the right is not Jimmy Merchant? The original Teenager's bass. I'm sure it's him and not the one holding the cell phone.

And Herman Santiago is wering the orange t-shirt.

Anyway I love this moment in life, i wish i was there!!!

  • @Schlockumentaries There was a Bobby J in Windsor, His band was the Night Hawks, is that him, cg.

  • @Schlockumentaries Herman Santiago

  • FANTASTIC bass, wish Kenny was a bit louder, still a mega great vid, excellent capture!

    5*****

  • The bass here is famous DJ and group harmony historian Bobby Jay, with Kenny V and 3 original teenagers.

  • Many thanks for the info my friend!!!! Actually you can see he is leading the group, I could watch him all day, fabtastic!

  • Bobby J was bass singer for the Laddins and he has sung with Joel KATZ,Johnny Maestro, and others in ad hoc doo wop groups that formed for special occassions.
