This is an effect using tiltshift lens on dslr cameras. If taken from a high angle everything below will look miniature and toy like. Not a video but a photographic timelapse of the city using individual photos giving that stop motion effect further enhancing the toy effect of Chicago city. :P

I was born but not really raised in Chicago; with the few visits I've gone back to see my family, the one thing I wanted to do was ride the huge ferris wheel at the pier; it was the wrong season for it though (I do find it funny that I left New Orleans that day in just jeans and a t-shirt since it was spring break for us and by the time I reached there on the train, I had to dress in a sweater and jacket because they had snow!)

hahaha its not fake people, though you can fake the effect, its usually done with an expensive lens that can change the image focus planes of the camera lens, basically blurs in the front, blurred in the back, sharp in the middle = tiny world. I want people to thumbs this comment up so they stop calling it fake.

@jwdesign336 It's not an expensive lens, it's a lens effect on AfterEffects, combined with playing a series of stills in sequence, probably 10 fps, which then mimicks the stop-motion animation used to animate claymation. It works cause the whole video is of cars and buildings and cities, so it seems to be a model or toys.

Parts of the video made my mind feel like I was watching a mini stop motion. But than thinking to myself if someone were to make a stop motion, using all of those moving props, that shit had to be hard, but its not. Just some very expensive lenses, some clever cinematography, and just the right vantage points.
