I dont think the question is valid. When we develop beyond the need for sex we will still want to include some kind of basic drive to reproduce in some way. Entities without that safety net will not endure.
As for the clergy, they will only deal with beings who dont have that kind of control. A being can not reach a transhuman level in the presence of clergy and clergy can not abide transhumanism.
They are mutually exclusive.
The clergy have to go.

I've been celibate for about 8 or 9 years now, not because of religion, but because someone else made me feel bad about my sexuality. I've been trying to make a video about it for a while now. But, anyway, when someone threatens you with physical abuse, it can take away your self worth. Too bad most don't care about man on man physical and mental abuse. If religion had "made" me celibate, it would be easier to deal with I think.

I'm a product of a moderate, catholic household and 17 years of catholic schooling. I am an atheist in the gnostic sense, meaning if there is a God, its not the invisible sky daddy and we as humans can become equal to or greater than this God if it exists. The Jesuits convinced me that religion is lies and manipulation. History, my own imagination and reason provided the proof. There is no system that is perfect for breeding zombies. It's all a personal choice if the mental faculties are intact.

No doubt no matter how technologically evolved the human race becomes some people will still put a god in the gaps. Likely a god did it versus we don't know ideology will balkanize people enough allowing religion to find a niche. Possibly fantastic stories and claims will exist so complicated and twisted they would make todays religions look as unsophisticated as the anachronistic worship of a giant turtle holding up the earth contemporarily compared with some "modern" religions...

My answer: Personally, I think that by that time religion will have lost its hold for the most part over the majority of the population.
No doubt they will fight it all the way, but in this day and age it seems that advancement will prevail over dogma due to simple human prgamatism. It takes a special kind of indoctrination to beat that out of us and very few religions give that kind of thing a go.

My answer to you is this:
If we make it so far, and i truly hope we do, there won't be any religion as we know it today. There will be hirearchy of sorts, there always has been, but the vision you present here of a possible Borg like existance in the future, will still need a centralisation of order. It remains to be seen if the aspects of our lives that should be personal or between 2 consenting adults are still to be scrutinised by those in power, but i dont think they will be.

Too bad the earth is not infinite in size and recources. In many poor countries people have many times more children than those from wealthier countries and look what the future holds for most of those children when their parents have barely money to feed themselfs. Making laws to prevent having many children isn't a good idea either but some people could use some common sense.

We're not going to colonize other planets until possibly hundreds of years have passed. And those planets would be ones that do not support life. Those that may support it, we haven't found yet and if we do they might be too far for us to ever reach them.
