I've tried not smoking without anything, Just cold cut.
I Had about the worst depression of all time, Even when i was bullied it wasn't this bad. It was absolute shit, I Do regret starting again. and plan on quitting soon.
@SafeguardHD I got some depression too but it went away when I cut my dose. A guy at work had the same problem and had to stop the medicine. It's a shame the side effects can be so severe for some people since it really helps cut the smoking desire. Good luck on quitting.
@1993foxyroxy I put on probably a total of 15 pounds after quitting. I ate all the chocolate and candy I wanted. I've since dropped about 25 pounds through diet and exercise. I think everybody gains weight after quitting but then you feel so good off cigarettes exercise becomes enjoyable. I've been quit for 21 months so far and still have nothing but good things to say about Chantix.
i only used mine for 5 weeks , and was forced off of it due to uninformed so called doctors who were more interested in covering ther butt than saving a live
I've been quit 30 days today! Chantix has worked for me. Anyone that's watching these videos and riding the fence......go ahead and get a prescription! Don't delay, this really has been a miracle pill for me.
Well done! I stopped smoking 13 years ago after doing it for 20 years. I now feel much healthier & have saved loads of money. Several friends have stopped smoking with help from Champix - they found taking 0.5mg twice a day, swollowing the tablets after food & not taking the second dose much after 3pm helped reduce any side effects. Keep the process positive in your mind & once quit don't dabble...that's the same for all addictions & smoking is a big addiction. Stick with it!
I am now starting my 3rd week of no smoking. I am on champix and it's pretty well the same thing as Chantix. It's going great, no side effects. I think a lot of people, family and co-workers see how easy it really is with this drug that maybe it will help them make the choice also. Sure glad I did!! Thanks for posting your diary Steve. Good luck to all.
Thanks for your response.. I smoke 10-12 a day and I can easliy go down to 5 a day, but I have never been able to quit. I have tried it all and I guess this is the last straw.. if this fails I amjust going to go to work for an oxygen company.. cause I'll need it...
Usually about a pack a day for 15+ years. I too felt strange on the first day but the second was better and the third I felt normal. I didn't have a problem until day seven when I went to the 1mg pill twice daily. I had to cut back to 1/2 mg twice daily and the weird feelings went away. See how you do for a few days before passing judgement especially to see what happens with your cravings. You may be one that can do with a lower dose of medicine.
Thanks for recording this Chantix diary I'm beginning week 2 off cigarettes, no side effects for me other than really great dreams! I'll tune in to hear how you get along. I'm interested in the dosage as time goes on. Well done Keep posting!
Tomorrow I start by 4th week on Chantix. I agree with you that Chantix seens like a "miracle drug"! The only side effect that I've had, and I've been taking full dose all along, is the "vivid dreams". Actually the dreams were pretty good! wink!
No side effects to speak of. It is tough with my wife still smoking but I believe I can get past it. Caught myself smoking a cig for no reason a few times!!! Tobacco is incideous. I will quit this time. Chantix is quite good. Congrats on 1 month!!!
I had some my first few days of taking it and I had a little trouble staying asleep but after a few days that went away. I encourage you to get motivated, get a prescription and get started. I am totally pleased with the medication and glad I did it! If you start having side effects you can't handle, work with your doctor to lower the dose until you get the dose that works for you.
