There will be a meeting on the 15th of February there! Alan showed me the proper way you cover your manuals. Keeping your manuals coverd keeps the dust and dirt out.
Allen Hacker was there when my Dad and I played the organ too. It was raining really hard the day that we went, so he was there to make sure the console didn't get wet. I looked for your video, but I couldn't find it, is it on YouTube? Did you have a good time playing?
Oh yes. It's on there. Somehow YouTube has been having some error problems on some of the comunications such as PMs and sent videos. Allen states that the four stops on the right and infront of the solo manual work the treluments. By the way, I am going to be at the SLTOS picnic at Carolondelet Park. That's off I-55 at Loughborugh.
For all others who are watching, the organ's manuls do have names. The bottom one is the Accop manual, the middle one is the Great, and the top is the Solo.
Hey there. Keep watcing! I did get a filming of me playing. My brother was the cameraman. I even got to meet Allen Hacker. He is adding things to the organ such as the funtional pipes that are missing. Now Megan, the pipes you saw infront of you were for the pedal. I have learned that if you call up many other stops, you can create quite a bit of noise to rattle the dishes in the lofts upstairs.
They are amazing instruments. I've been lucky to have been able to play one for awhile. Unfortunaly, the organ is becoming a dying art. I think you said this one is in St. Louis. Have you ever seen the one in The Fox Theatre?
Yes I have seen the one in the Fox. My family and I used to see Stan Kann all the time. Actually, my dad and I might have the opportunity to play the organ at the Fox.
Lucky you! I've never played any of the Fox Specials. I knew someone awhile ago, that had contacts with the Century II Civic Center in Witchita, Ks. home of the former N.Y. Paramount organ. Sadly, I never got out there to play it.
We went to a regional convention in Witchita several years ago. We saw a silent movie in the Civic Center and Jeff Weiler played the Paramount (Mother). haha!
Great job! I want to play on that one someday.
