  • Is this procedure with local or general anesthesya?

  • GOT MINES DONE TODAY AT 10:30

  • is this music from indiana jones or something?

  • Wow ive discovered a cure for the pain! finallyyyyyyyyyyyy its like a lvl 2/10 instead of 10/10 pain wise i was taking tylex 750 paretamol but didnt no nothing for the pain and today i was having a huge headache so when i took my tylex i also took 2 advil advance and 30 min later i was able to talk for the first time in 8 days and feeling super positive!! im guessing they dont recomend ibuprofen its because it maked the blood thinner and im guessing it improved the chances of post op bleeding

  • Its day 5 and im almost going to shott myself this is the worst pain Ive ever been in my whole life, dont do it even if you need to lol its unbearable, i only did it because i had sleep apnea, and tonsil stones like 6 times a year if you only snore never do this i say never!! plus i did my rhinoplasty at the same time huge mistake

  • @nosejosetu What are the side effects of tonsil stones and nasty smell in tonsils? Did you have trouble sleeping and eating?

  • @sourmanofcoal hi its day 8 and its just as day 5 cant stand it anymore, im getting dizzy of all the meds that seem to do little or no effect on the massive pain, and tonsil stones side effects well are bad breath, pain while swallowing and thats it basically, just like now only right now the pain is worse the bad breath im getting now im guessing is from all the coagulated blood from my nose and tonsils and im forcing my throat to spit as most of the blood i can semms there are scabs also

  • Ummm, years ago when I was in nursing school, I had the "un-privilege" of seeing a tonsillectomy up close. The kid's mouth was wrench open and left in that position with a jack-like instrument. Then, very thin, wire clasps, loop-shaped, were slid over each tonsil and tightened with extreme pressure. The tonsils were then literally twisted and pulled from the throat. No damn wonder I was in bed for a week after mine were removed when I was 11. It was like something out of Medieval times!

  • @2attached They did the same thing to me when I was 8. I nearly died.

  • THEY DID THIS TO ME?!?!? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I THAUGHT THEY JUST CUT IT OFF AND PUT IT IN A JAR

  • Gotta have a cast iron gut to watch this...... How did i get here again?

  • @TheZebra894 Me too OO..

  • what an epic score for a minor outpatient procedure. bravo!

  • The awesome soundtrack is what makes this movie worthy of a nomination.

All kidding aside. Mine are coming out this way tomorrow. Can't wait.

  • Just got my tonsils out this morning using this method...wanted to wait for procedure to watch this. I gotta say, this technology is a miracle!!... No bleeding, no pain (other than my uvula swelling up 10 times its normal size, but that's more annoying than painful) and I am already eating soft food, drinking fluids is no problem. DON'T have this procedure done any other way!!!!!!

  • *HARSH!!!!!!

  • I'm having this done tomorrow morning (EEK!). But my doctor said it's minimal pain and fast recovery. Why the heck are people saying it hurt like hell for eight days? That is not very comforting. Even with all the meds after?

  • omg they did that to me. No wonder why I still feel like crap 8 days after

  • I had that done to me... eww.

  • oh dios que asco i poco sensacional! parece una vagina!

  • I wonder if they ever lost a tonsil down their throat.

  • Ouch.....

  • yeah, i was complaining about my tonsils cause they get large from time to time. but no no way in hell ima let someone go in my throat with a laser lol.

  • @Lilmamaa2009 thats ok if their large dude, there's no average size for the tonsils....

  • @Nikiudel Noo they get large and sore like they swell up and i really gotta get them taken out lol. and im not a dude, im a female lol juss sayinn=]

  • @Lilmamaa2009 Lol, you're the exact opposite of me XD I'd prefer to know what the hell was going to happen to me ratther than they just put me under and go at it!

  • thats crazy

  • Why do I recognize that music from Star Gate?

  • I want to poke them...

  • wow, the song, just wow

  • I EAT UR TONSILS!

  • i got this surgery done on me i think, i have no tonsils haha

  • tonsils somehow grow white balls of the stinkiest stuff u will ever smell. i believe their about 90% of why ppl have bad breath

  • I'm having a coblation done in a week but I've already had my tonsils removed. This is further treatment for obstructive sleep apnea since I've already had a UP3 done a few years go. It reduced the severity of my sleep apnea but it's still there. What am I in for?

  • just got my tonsils removed and i can honestly say worse pain in my entire life so far, im 4 days in and even with codine the pain is so intense i have to just lay down and wait till i can take more drugs. some people have it bad, some recover like nothing.

  • That would kinda suck if the doctor accidentally drops the tonsil down your throat.

  • thats...... not...... gross...

  • q chevere

  • can you post a video of the anesthesia procedure? thank you!

  • had it done 2 weeks ago. feels fine now. just a little sore. was eating some food the day after surgery

  • I can't believe I actually had this done... ohmydearlord. I am SO glad that at the time I did not really know what they were going to do to me, because I would have been ridiculously nervous about the entire situation .___.;;

  • IT HURTS LIKE CRAZY 2-3 weeks of intense pain swallowing....:(

  • @yanirawr hell yeah that shit hurts man

  • it canz be blow job times now?

  • omg

  • I had mine out at age 5 :O

    god it hurt

Im not sure if it was done like this though

I also had brain surgery at age 13 :D

that hurt less believe it or not!!!!!!

  • if u have tonsillitis do u have to have this done to u even if it is your first time

  • yup this is how thay do it

  • the ending made the whole thing seem sneakie like they where stolen, and some mother fucker is gonna wake up and go on adventure to recover his godamn tonsilles

  • a got mine out on 14 january 2009 a was scared to ma toothe chiped

  • hey so how long did u have to wait from when you booked your appointment, im just curious because i have to see my doctor soon to book it and im curious on how long i will have to wait?

  • COOOOOOOOL!

  • The music is great. It kinda freaked me out more at times and made me laugh.

  • holly fucking shit fucks they put a rubber thing in my nose and burned my shit up what the fuck!!!!!

  • lol

  • I like the music.

  • Can that help you sing better

  • NO if you sucked before you are gonna suck after........but you are gonna suck a little bit better

  • no.

Singing is a voice show off which is accoured from your voicebox.

Since everyone has different voiceboxes, thats because they have different DNA.

We're only in 2010, possiblity of changing DNA MIGHT be possibly in 2400...

    ...if we live that far.

  • I just got this today. Not nearly as bad as everyone said, just hard to talk, and swallow, because my tongue, and throat are a little swollen. And I got my Adenoids out too

  • epic music

  • w italyyyy i love italy

  • is this from terrorist media? hostage undergoing tonsillectomy surgery for ransom not met...... laughing my fucking ass off 4 real LMFAO

  • dont you need that? why do people get this removed? WTF?

  • Because glands became source of infection.

  • ROFL Fuck that shit, right after i got out of surgery i sat up and stepped off the bed and walked dowbn the hall a little bit and the lady was like you cant walk youl get dizzy and fall, and i was dissy a lil bit, but i got in the truck, smoked a cigarette and drank a dr.pepper and went to wendy's directly after i got my surgery.. so.. tbh its not that bad..

  • @zisthrax0: hahaha you just made my day sir XD

  • I'am getting mines took out on the 8/12/09 =]

  • That is so amazin I can't wait to be a doctor. Lol nice music

  • gross...

  • i barfed on my comp

  • I know your pain Xo

  • Oh Yeah, Im 15 and with the help of a few Narcotics, its all good

  • I had my tonsils tooken out on Friday November 6, and the pain was excrutiating for a couple of days after that. But 3 days after, I was eating Chicken Nuggets

  • Had it done when I was 18 and on the same surgery the adenoids were taken out too. There was pus, so the doctor scraped well and stitched tight. Now at 48, my tongue obstructs my breathing during sleep. It is scary feeling to wake up and feeling there is no air to breath.

  • You have sleep apnea, go see your doctor about it to arrange a visit in a sleep clinic. You might need CPAP.

  • got this done in kindergarden! couldnt eat for like...ever bec of stiches.

  • ha i think i need this done mabe then i can lose some weight!

  • ur tonsils are in your throut...<=)

  • ugh thanks dude o haved chinese and pizza for breakfast and spageti and mcdonalds for dinner but you blew it up i wont eat today

  • helpful. medical things own

  • WTF is that

  • 1:53, cue epic music.

  • it's not a bad thing trust me it will make your life alot easier

  • Hi I just had my tonsils removed yesterday, and I was freaked out by all those people saying how bad it hurt, how miserable they felt. And a day later, I have to say I barely feel any pain, and I'm not even on heavy medication. My advice to you is, drink cold beverages as soon as you can: the muscle contraction speeds up the recovery process, and the cold acts as a painkiller. If you're scared about your operation, don't be, there's really nothing to worry about.

  • i had very nasty occlusion with my tonsilectomy, my adenoids blocked my nose, my tonsils closed my throat to a few mm, and i had growths down into my voice box, spent 3 days in ICU with another 2 in general ward, i was very sore for 2 weeks with more pain for 2 months, i am 22... get it done sooner rather than later!

  • oh my fucking gosh i almost trew up ugh!!!! docter isnt going to be my job for sure o god i got fatige....

  • im 27 and i just had mine removed yesterday. It hurts like hell after

  • GROSS!!!

  • haha. that was cool

  • Nice. The Lawrence of Arabia soundtrack really sets the mood.

  • cudnt help but think the same haha

  • O.o

  • thanks for posting this video....very helpful,informative.... my five yr old son is having this operation in two weeks, i was worried, now i feel more at ease.... mine were done the old fashioned way 45 yrs ago.......thank God for technology.

  • the guy speaking sounds like tom hanks a little bit

  • azz

  • Why does the mucosa turn white while cutting?

  • I would be guessing but I would say the same reason your finger turns white when you press on it.

  • all soft tissue turns white when it is dead

  • @Wiitendo49

    and cooked!

  • what if ur tonsil slips and u choke on it???? that would suck really bad

  • I got mine taken out when I was in my mommies womb - I find that's the easiest & most pain free method, hell yeah!

SO, however old YOU are, if you really want NO pain, crawl back up your mommies vagina & into her womb & get your tonsils taken out in there. I'm telling you it's the best!

  • I'm 16 years old now... and my doctor adviced me to have this operation.... I'm afraid to do it?

I mean I don't have much tolerance for pain... my tonsils are getting bigger this time....

  • you should just do it anyways, get it over with b4 it becomes a problem. at least u'll have a reason to eat ice cream :)

  • im only 11 and im gonna have my tonsils out on july 6 ._. i dont think its gonna b that hard

  • I had my tonsils removed at age 9 and the only thing I remember is falling asleep while counting down from number 10 after beginning the sedative procedure..

  • yeah well im the same age as you and i had mine out about a week and a half ago and its sore when you wake up you get a bit of a fright and you will feel wierd with the anasetic. it is really sore when you swallow and its sore when you eat and drink but the more you drink and eat the better you get because you are exercising the muscles in your throat.

the thing that actually helped me is drinking milk because when i was out of hospital it actually didnt hurt when i swallowed it.

  • i had it done when i was 4, and dont really remember much. so i guess i'm lucky(:

  • My baby is having hers done in the morning & she is only 4. I'm so nervous for her!

  • welll its good that shes getting it done early, really i dont remember it like hurting to much ha, i just thought i was so cool cause i got to eat icecream for dinner hahaha.

  • lol mate

  • All of you guys cant handle pain at all. I had my tonsils removed last friday. THursday night i looked up this video, and all of ur comments freaked me out. I was in harsh pain for 2 days, and then i was fine. I could eat chili and bbq bacon cheeseburgers within 4 days. ITS NOT THAT BAD

  • trust me i have a high tolerance for pain, but my tonsils were massive, the older u are and the bigger ur tonsils are, the more it hurts. and the pain wasn't really in the throat as much as it was the ears for me at least, the pain was worst on days 9 and 10 for me, and i know countless others experience the same. my surgeon himself had his tonsils out when he was 20, had the same pain. i guess depends on the size of tonsils and age too.

  • yeah, my tonsils were so big they used to touch. I got them removed when I was like 13 and I was in a lot of pain for 2 weeks.

  • day 7 after surgery - worst pain ive ever experienced. if u dont have to get tonsils out, dont, it is hellish pain.

  • had mine out on tuesday (4 days ago), hurts like hell not gonna lie, can't really eat much, drinking is hard but u have to drink water at the very least. can't wait for the pain to subside but it still hurts like hell

  • 3:56 its gonna hurt!

  • I'm 41 and having my tonsils out on 5/13/09.. I'm not sure what to expect , and i can't view the video because my connection really bites, its satellite..Please any advise would help me out alot..

  • oh my mom said that her tonsels did soemthing where it was ahrd to swallow and all that but it wasnt it bad enough t o have that done.

  • u wudn't know unless u have had it done urself.

it's the most painfull thing I have ever experienced.

  • whats with the music lol

  • I was thinking the same thing!

  • had mine taken out thursday dunno if they used this method or not lol :D

  • Why does that tool turn everything it touches white?

  • is a tonsil the dangly thing in the back of your throught?

  • no thats the uvula. your tonsils are on the sides of your throat.

  • no that's your Uvula, your tonsils are more down in your throat

  • nah u have two tonsils anyway

  • only have this operation if you really really need it. They say the older you get the more painful this operation is. that is so true. i had mine out last may, i was 18. the aftermath was soo painful, and the risk for bleeding and splitting is low but it can happen to me. i ended up back in hospital for a week because of the pain and whilst i was in the hospital showers my tonsil bed split and i had to go back into surgery.

    scary stuff.

  • i'm 20 and had mine out :(

i'm on day 7 and still in agonizing pain.. But I guess when it's all healed it will be better then getting sick 3 times a month..

    sigh..

  • there's something nice i gotta here my brother told me something crazy about tonsils i didn't believe him but it was funny he said you stick a knife through your head and down your throut and they grab it my cous started laughing he was mad emmbrassed!!!!!!!!! I was like omg thats never gonna to happen. lol!!!!!!!

  • ...the music is very annoying

  • Can they remove lymph nodes? I have a very enlarged node (I think its tonsillar) in my neck. hurts to swallow.

  • My dad(an MD) says most MD's will gear you toward treating the underlying cause of the pain (infection, trauma or defects) before ever considering removing it. These nodes serve a purpose which doctors try to preserve unless your quality of life if impaired by it. You must show a constant chronic problem and or severe impairing pain before they pull them out. Tho annoying, my dad says there's a good chance it can be treated without the knife. A good ENT can help.

  • Whats the plan of care for a post-op tonsillectomy?

  • ice chips...

    prevent bleeding or hemorrhage..

if u observe the patient always swallow..... maybe there's bleeding...

  • Vicodin and Soups! Nuff said.

  • do ent's use this procedure now over the laser?? seems so much better. Im glad I found this now i can ask my doctor for it

  • wow! I just got mine out yesterday, I was wondering what the operation looked like. well guess now i know xD

  • be carefull dude , dont make any sport are fast moves the risk is pretty high

  • what risk?

  • Im totally Showing this Video 2 my Twin Sister... She;s Gettin her's tooken outt next weekend...

I want 2 see what she say's about this.. lol

  • I got mine out about 7 years ago....I am glad I didn't see anything like this before :|. But it wasn't all that bad. I had a major sore throat for a little but got all the ice cream/milk shakes, etc. I wanted :P.

  • I am due to have my removed 3/23/09. Is it really that bad? What kinda foods can you eat after this? And how soon can you eat?

  • When I got mine out, the nurses asked me if I wanted a popsicle, etc. when I was in recovery (after I woke up), I know you won't be able to suck through a straw, or eat a lot of things but you can eat pudding and soft foods. Plus you can have all the ice cream/milk shakes-etc. you want :). Good luck...my prayers are with you!

  • how come there's not lot of blood? i thought there would be alot 0.0

  • Usually, there's only a few paper cuts worth of bleeding. With coblation, it cuts and stops bleeding simultaneously. Electrocautery does the same thing, but at VERY high temperatures. Coblation is a little bit higher than room temperature.

  • wow EPIC ! i love the music, it fits perfect to an tonsillectomy ! reminds on lord of the rings

  • mine r out ina week, Im not sure i should be whatch ing this, :~(

  • i got mine out 2 yrs ago

  • so how do they give you the anesthetics is it through a shot???

  • guess so even though i've never done it before.
