Here's an example - when I was little, I began to wear glasses at age 7. When my parents would ask me to pick something up, saying it was 'right there' and they pointed at the object, I didn't see it. Say it was a screw driver, I would see everything else, the floor, the other tools, the wall, but not that one object they were pointed at, nearly 1in from my face. I still have this problem sometimes, but not too often.
I don't quite grasp the idea of everything around us being a hologram. A hologram is not solid, but out bodies and most of the objects around us are solid. I really don't get it. But I sense that the theory might be unto something. I am learning. Anyone can explain the holograms to me, please?
@Rita1972 Very confusing, the idea i believe is based on holographic principles rather than everything literally being a hologram as we think of one. Particles come in the form of both waves and physical matter, it is only the ability of our brain, our senses, that turn the waves of these particles into matter. When we aren't observing them they remain as waves. The image on a holographic piece of film is really just waves, we only see the image we recognise once a laser is shone through it
@cgd8813 Thanks. I will buy his book to read more. The answer makes sense, but one question remains and that is how come we feel matter as solid. Is it still how our brain perceives it? I know an atom is not solid but objects appear solid. My daughter has mentioned the string theory. I wonder if both theories contribute to each other. I never heard of any of this till I heard D. Icke mention shape shifting being possible due to our holographic universe.
Thanks so much for putting this up. I have been studying these ideas for decades, but only recently discovered Mr. Talbot. What a treasure, and what a loss. I also ran across something very similar to what he speaks about that may be of interest to those who value Micheal's concepts. It is a kind of thought experiment . The people who are conducting it can explain it better than I can. The YouTube channel is (youtube(dot)com)user/RealityTransmission
More recent developments in string theory and quantum mechanics have reinforced this theory. Check out Michio Kaku's thoughts on how the universe is really structured.
One should be a little skeptical with this parapsychic stuff, though there can be a portion of truth in it - actually i´m pretty sure there is-, this talbot was somewhat naiive. He e.g. believed in genuines of this sai baba, the indian guru making money by cheating people with simple stage magic.
whos to say that both sides actually explains each other. both need to work with each other because they are both looking for the same thing......just different names.....God, Sub-atomic particles. just my view on it
we cant see or explain God nor can we fully understand protons and neutrons. and i dont think we ever will. why? i dont know but i think its because we cant put a finger on these objects because you cant see or touch God or because the sub-particles are too small or unseen as well. thats why religious people try to explain to others about God and scientists try to explain to others about sub-atomic particles but neither side can give a definite answer just theories.
i think this explains religion to a certain point. at least for the spiritual realm and also afterlife(heaven and God). who or what initially gave us these images to go by? what EXACTLY programs the holographic pics for us? everything is connected as far as sub-particles go. God is within us all which connects us all as well.
paraphrase for my own edification and further comprehension: reality is a bit plastic, and we tend to put a structure to it. thats the whole idea behind the holographic universe. our brains take information in, and sometimes get a form. its not that the picture is out there, its that the data inside forms the picture based off of our belief systems, and our unconscious belief systems (memories of all your past lives u guys) as well....wow :)
I'm not sure he's talking about past lives. He's saying that world is made of atoms so when we look at a person/table/whatever,we're actually looking at group of atoms which're made up of tiny strings vibrating at various frequencies; our BRAIN puts together a picture for us to see from information it receives about string frequencies sent by eyes based on our beliefs &we see person/table/etc(Most BASIC beliefs about world's appearance installed at childhood by people around us)
@Rayulit yeah true, im just a past lives geek, and I know all our past lives memories are stored in our un/sub-conscious, so i was thinking it could be an influence in shaping what we see. but again, we do die for a reason lol, to wipe the slate clean, maybe its not that much of an influence on how we shape things with our perceptions, since its not that clear and strong of a perception that we could even use to create the world with
I'm not sure if Holographic Universe model EXPLICITLY makes references about past lives, etc since it is a scientific hypothesis, they like to keep speculation to a minimum & that's why it refers only to "current" life but even "if" reincarnation hypothesis was true then I guess the reason we wouldn't be carrying our "past" BELIEFS into our current life because we live in a "consensus reality" i.e. laws of our "reality" are shaped by what all of us believe COLLECTIVELY [cont.1]
so IF reincarnation is true then every child "updates" its belief systems after it is born (or may be even in the womb) to what people around it "now" believe in by absorbing their belief systems & yet an individual can believe in something different than what people around him believe & that becomes reality for HIM ONLY so just like the guy that Talbot talked about who had cancer & his belief could cure his cancer & then it kept coming back the moment his belief crumbled [2]
@HuckleberrySlim Why are you missing the simple fact that you came with the DNA passed down by your dad and mom(which can now similarly go back to all his ancestors he ever had). You dont have to go so far as past lives to account for what is being said here.
@qcon81 Originally I just copied down what michael said for myself, and interpreted it for myself, based on the filter of my beliefs in past lives. But if youre wish to examine DNA as yet another possibility, thats cool, Im open. Personally I think past lives are a stronger influence on beliefs than DNA. Family members could have wildy varying beliefs. One lifetime ago that you personally lived is much closer of an influence on you than a lifetime your anscestor lived, even if its genetic info
Unbelievable, extraordinary info,a new level of consciousness,a new perception of our reality ,so far we were totally blind, unaware to see it!This is why religion keeps people in a box, this is the way to our freedom, unfortunately, religious people interpret this as being possessed by other forces. How can you advance yourself,if your belief system stay's in your way???Ask yourself, WHY???????????
@mytube92369 we all knew this ... it's just that nowadays system is focused on material ... and therefore are we through schools directed only towards material satisfaction. past cultures like indians ... they all knew what we are rediscovering :)
