The keyboard of the mkII is better to mplay, and the vocoder is more clear, it's my secret weapon synth , i love it !!! i will use it in my next production and i will make some video for youtube soon !!!
How are you getting the Vocoding (speaking into the mic) to come out so clear? I have a Roland VP330, and whenever I try doing Vocoding i always have a pain in the ass trying to balance the volume levels between my normal voice and the vocoded one... any tips? Cuz you have the pure vocoded voice being output, I can't get it that clean D:
Do you have the MkI or II version? The MkII (that 'retrosound72' is using here) is the cleaner-sounding version. The MkI is richer more lush sounding and is the preferred version for collectors and musicians.
3:08 gets me drooling every time! some day, some day..........I have watched this so many times, I never get tired of watching and hearing it, cheers marco
Mick, I can understand that good. Before I my VP330 bought, I heard the vangelis albums bladerunner and seeyou later again and again and again. I hope you find a VP330 for a good price. cheers
Well, alaggan, the flanging is courtesy of a mono somewhere, a great quality of the VP330 ensemble is a fat chorused sound with not much of a flanging, because there are mixed and counterphased outputs, so you have wideness with low wooshing ;-)
I wonder what the paraphonic envelope response is. It seems that it doesn't kill a long release when you play any new notes, am I right?
The earlier RS101 and RS202 had independent Attack/Release envelopes for each of their keys, but I'm led to understand that the RS505 and onward used the more common setup like the Arp/Eminent models. What do you think?
Actually that's the Roland SVC-350 Vocoder!! David Gilmore or the other guy said this in an interview. They used the 'Ensemble' effect and turned the 'Balance' knob to center (half-way between voice and vocoder).
@retrosound72 Sounds like the same two synths that Don Airie used on the Mr. Crowley intro...The VP-330 comes in on the second time through, right after the CS80 does it's trademark stepped portamento.
its sounds like a Solina

Strings are good, but I still prefer strings on the Eminent 310 and Logan String Melody II… It's probably a matter of personal taste ;-)

great little machine. I'm sure it was used on the Bladerunner soundtrack.
I've got this model. I have heard the MK1 was richer sounding. My VP330 is broken, needs an overhaul. Love it to bits tho.
oxygene65 2 years ago 2
@oxygene65 : no, on "Blade Rinner" OST the synth you hear is the Yamaha CS80.

@discodelirio Actually BOTH the VP-330 and the CS-80 were used on the Blade Runner Soundtrack
jukingeo 1 year ago
@jukingeo yep. the vp330 does the background string sections on a lot of pieces, while the CS 80 does the expressive brass leads & sfx

i think it's 'cause he records it straight from the output of the synth into his camera. So, no ambient noise

Can you say that VP-330 strings are EXACTLY the same of Paraphonic RS-505 strings?
Thank you!

yes, the strings are the same

It sounds like Heaven.
Does vibrato control the strings section too or is for vocoder and human voice only?

vibrato is only avaiable for vocoder and human voice section

Bei nicht gebundener Spielweise werden die Hüllkurven jedesmal wieder neu gestartet, während bei gebundene Noten ausklingen können.
