Very nice submarine for small and medium countries. I miss hydrogene cells generator for longer submerged endurance. Slovenia make such hydrogene cells generators. Long live Slovenian-Russian brotherhood.
Not only small countries, the underwater cities the Russian Navy currently has don't exactly fit Russia's current requirements. Russia needs - smaller, cheaper, small crew(18) - characteristics the Amur 950 has. The Malakhit Design Bureau's Piranya 750(P-750) project has similar characteristics.
As for hydrogen based engines for Russian Submarines - program was frozen in 1990's, development was never completed.
