i had the sword its pretty weak not as good as a katana not even close to a jian sorry but its true its way to thin the carbon steel for a begginer it shouid be
Sword length doesnt matter at all when determining how tall you are. Its whatever you feel comfortable with. Some people are better with a Katana and some people are good with two shorter Katanas.
Well, sword length does matter with certain movements though. For iaido, you do need a sword with a correct length. A sword which is too long will be hard to draw fluently without getting your kissaki stuck in the saya (aka, my problem :x)...
I'm 6 foot and use a single Wakizashi, as opposed to an average Katana. It's true that it's all about comfortableness. I really can't use a normal sword very well, but am really good with shorter swords.
It also really depends on your fighting style. The longer the blade, the more offensive you fight, the shorter the blade, the more close, or defensive you fight. I fight pretty defensive, so a wakizashi suits me perfectly (able to intercept at many more angles than most other swords).
Actually, blade length does not determine offensive/defensive balance. The real determining factor is the blade width. A good example is broadsword vs. rapier.
it's about technique and strategy. and it's true that a shorter sword offers diffent advantages. like the speed of the tip of the blade like a smaller gear ratio. thats undeniable isn't it? i only pay attention to sword styles anymore, because they offer insight into any type of combat, for instance katana mastery is key to aikido mastery....the linear understanding of the circle and so on...
you have no idea what you're talking about... "two shorter katanas" a katana is a measurement of the length and style of a sword... a "shorter katana" would not be called a katana.
i do believe that you would be the jackass for first, posting something that is untrue, and then making a notion that you dont really know what its called, just saying.
The whole point of any technique is just "what is the most basic way a human body can move when I'm doing something?" You don't use a short stick like you would a long one, or a dagger like a great claymore. The rest is completely up to the person.
Yes the outside of the mat depicts the skin, and the inside depicts the muscle density, and the closest thing to bone is REAL bamboo. Not rivercane that stuff is shite. You can order bamboo from Japan for almost nothing. Sorry for the spelling Im tired. Wrap it in real bamboo and see and fell the diffrence in the way the sword cuts through the bamboo as well as the mat...*Gets all tingly inside* Aww yeah...
I love the Ryumon Zatoichi; it's about a hundred bucks cheaper than most of the Paul Chen versions. Plus, you finally have the black model in stock again. Now we just need a cutting video of the Musashi Zatoichi and the Musashi Shirasaya.
what a load of crap
where's the technique? arms and shoulders with jerky stubby movements are no good....
where are the hips and body and fluid continuous movement?
