Our TM & cook were also tops. We also had plenty of adventure stories of getting stranded in the cities late at night because we missed our coach. It was still great fun! I think it comes down to what kind of group you get stuck with. Mine was really good. Probably coz we chose the long camping tour.

I just got back from a 2 week trip with Contiki around eastern Europe & it was by far the GREATEST experience I've ever had. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in travel.
After 3 seperate tours 60days in Europe, Australia and New Zealand I stand behind Contiki. Everybody I know that has travled with Contiki from 1973 to 2006 has had nothing but the best experience. Yes we all had detours, break downs and other unexpected mishaps. Stay at home, mature and then learn how to travel abroad. When my bus sank in a mud bog in the Australian Outback no one whined, we uloaded and dug with our hands in mid day heat surrounded by flies. No worries!

This videos is such a riot! I also went on a Contiki's tour last year & our driver was just as clueless as yours (but ours was only a airport transfer bus driver -- not the real driver). The minute I got back to LA, I wrote a loooong complaint letter & got some money back. Since, you guys have a lot documented, you guys should get a full refund AND a whole new trip for free... if u ever do Contiki again =)

Our bus driver got lost a few times too but someone on our bus was always willing to jump off & chat to some random guy for directions.

this happened to us too on my european inspirations tour over christmas... we CONSTANTLY got LOST... and they tried to make it up to us by taking us out to a sleezy ass bar/clubs and pay for a round of drinks... it was really SHITTY i swear... i wanted to *barf

If you listened to your tour manager and was on the bus at the time she said it would have been fine. Anyoine who has done Contiki knows they will leave you behind! Get over it!

This should be called not true contiki - but contiki if you didnt listen to your tour manager! If you dont make it to the coach on time - that's tough. Everyone who does Contiki knows that they will leave you behind if you are not there. Serves you right really - sad really that you have to make a video about it - get over it!

its actually more sad that this person wrote this twice under a name that he had just made when he commented... also if you click on the link to his page, it says he has only watched ONE video... Contiki spy? I think so.... thats really sad that their company is so shady... and uncreative

damn.. im thinking about goin on one of these tours but after i saw this and what ive been hearing about contiki im kinda thinkin twice about it now.

This videos is such a riot! I also went on a Contiki's tour last year & our driver was just as clueless as yours (but ours was only a airport transfer bus driver -- not the real driver). The minute I got back to LA, I wrote a loooong complaint letter & got some money back. Since, you guys have a lot documented, you guys should get a full refund AND a whole new trip for free... if u ever do Contiki again =)

Wow, you had one fucken shit of a tour guide. The same thing happened on our tour, but at least our tour people did attempt to LOOK for the people who weren't on the bus... goddamn contiki.... who the fuck seriously,...leaves people behind in random countries...oh yeah.. contiki. God forbid they'd be late to the HOSTEL check in...lol.
