Then why the harsh criticism of the originals special effects, which were top notch at the time & there is certainly nothing wrong with the acting. It seems like you are penalizing the original for not living up to the standards of today. Thats pretty unreasonable. Everything exists in the moment it was made. But all I am saying is that it is so radically different than the original that it would have served Universal better to simply call the ship/characters/etc, something new. Maybe you like both shows, but most people I've talked to hate one and and like the other.
