Out of the now barren fields of death,a feeling of grief still linger in the air.. Through man's folly and mistakes, the pitying eyes of the world are still focused on man's mistakes, mistakes that still glow and glow The blind must look towards the sun if they want to see waving trees and green grass! Take care ADonovan43
PLEASE Can any of the Bhoys around put up the real tune by Charlie & The Bhoys Albert Kidd.....Some of the bloody jamtarts still crying tae this day ha ha ha...and tae think we were 6-1 odds tae win the league aht day!
Beautiful yet harrowing. One of my favorite songs. It was the Christy Moore version that I first listened to. I think I still prefer his version to this one, excellent and moving as it is.
I've never heard the original. ClareAer, perhaps you have a link? You used to know him, after all! :-)
I've never seen this spelling -- most of us know this city as Pripyat. It's not dead at all, though; it's a vibrant, living place -- for plants and animals. Life is more resilient in the Exclusion Zone than anyone expected.

@beehive41:
Pripyat is a ghost town near the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in the Kiev Province of northern Ukraine, on the border near Belarus.
At the time its population was around 50,000 before the accident, after the disaster the city of Pripyat was evacuated in two days.

Cladagh, thank you for taking the time to watch and comment on this video. Much appreciated.
I must admit I haven't... The only other version I've heard is that by Christy Moore.
