  • Sure you compliment strangers... if you truly mean it. Some people do it to be polite, some are just lonely and some are just sweet.

And yes, make eye contact with homeless people. They are humans. If you were the one homeless, would like people looking at you in the eyes???????????????

Remember that they are less fortunate and very often very lonely. An eye contact and smile can make their day.

    Way to go girl!

  • Here is a compliment for a stranger: I really liked your video. gemycat forwarded it to me. I thank her for that.

You must put out vibrations that allow folks who are "Challenged" to open up to you. Alas, we all could be better at that. But a video like this Helps! PS: move that stuff off the top of your microwave! Peace.

  • haha! Thanks! Yeah I've been staring at the 'junk' cluttering my place for awhile...maybe this will prompt me to move it? Thanks for your kind words- it means alot.

  • I was actually homeless once for six months. It wasn't a drug or alcohol thing for me, but that's not the case for all of them. I'll say that they're people just like everybody else. So you can talk to them like anybody else. That's really a no brainer.

Never ask them for directions, though.

  • haha! Directions. Yes I do talk to alot of unfortunately homeless people as I walk alot, and live downtown...some I know by name, others just a smile of recognition or eye contact says more than words. I'm posting a vid shortly.I've come back from 'the dead'.

  • Well, my next door neighbor calls me Fatso, so consider yourself fortunate. That's okay though, because I sat on all her lawn furniture last night.

And not only that, but you have got to be the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my entire life.

  • I can't believe someone would call another person names like that...it's so damn childish and stupid. I'm sorry to hear that- people like that make me lose faith in the good ones, the rest of us...sometimes. Thank you very much for your compliment as well, *blush*. Be well :-)

  • You have a beautiful laugh!

  • Thanks! I'm having such a stressful night studying that was awesome to hear :-)

  • people can be so vain,it's like they think that homeless people have some disease or something, you know? like they having had some problems in their lives & that it's perfect. There is no perfect life, you know?

  • Don't I know it. I just tell myself, these people belong to SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE...and I can't help but be curious as to thier story. Where is their family? Some people just go down a different road, it doesn't mean they are less of a person than we are- u know? I see it every day cause I live right downtown, and walk through the financial district, the busy suits rushing about with no time for ANYONE, homeless or not!

  • 1) not sure this counts, but it was a classmate I had never talked with. She had asked other students to stop talking so later on I found her and told her that was MUCH appreciated

    2) Eye contact, yes but not always. Yesterday I gave a homeless guy a bottle of Evian, he immediately looked away. Kinda sad.

    3) I'm concerned about that cough!

  • I am too Curt, the cough. Last night was especially bad so I think this coming week I should get to another doctor, a different one and demand a chest x-ray and if I hear the usual...I'll ask for MORE HELP. lol. Thanks as usual for your comments and watching- u rock my friend!

  • Again like ur vid! Indeed Noble!

As dor ur question... If I c ppl on the street i treat everyone all the same! If they dont act rude ill treat them nice... If they are rude! Well depends how rude they are... I may ignore them I may get pissed... depending on my mood!!!

  • Cool- thanks so much! I don't know about noble tho...lol

  • VERY NOBLE OF YOU

    THANX

  • Hi there, Today I gave someone a complement on her eyes... and if a homeless or less fortunate person asks me for the time... I give it to them if I have my watch on... no-one is more important than the other because they had more opportunities. Take Care

  • Nicely put. It's amazing the amount of people I see, each day, who do not treat people with respect. Thanks :-)

  • I guess I don't compliment strangers. But for example, I might compliment a woman if she's wearing something that looks good to me.

  • Sounds good to me! Like a random woman on the street? Hey I haven't heard from you in a while. I thought maybe I scared you away....

  • I've been around. I seriously want to make some video's. Lots of ideas - no time. I've also been anxiously awaiting a new video from you. But I can't complain now can I.

I will compliment a woman I know if she has a nice scarf or something. And it's geniune. If something catches my eye I will mention it. I will also tell somebody if their collar is turned up or something - rather than let them walk around for half a day making an idiot of themselves. It's happened to me.

  • OOOOh! I love people who tell others about stuff like that. I so appreciate it...and do that same too. Yeah I got a ton of vids on my computer, I just haven't uploaded any. I think tonight I will cause it was last day at work, waiting for the girls to come over and we'll head out for dinner...and I feel FREE. Glad to hear from you!

  • And I would definitely talk to a homeless person/stranger etc... they are people too... you are EXACTLY right :)

  • YAY!

  • I definitely compliment strangers... and people I know... I studied "compliment giving behaviour" in my degree and found that SO MANY people only compliment others when they feel good about themselves (therefore DON'T compliment other swhey they DONT' feel good about themselves) that I was horrified and started complimenting people more often... It's rewarding to bring a smile to random strangers faces... and people you know :)

  • You are so right- I never thought about it that way...people only complimenting when they feel good. I would just love to have no more negative energy around me! Thanks so much for commenting and watching.

  • Sometimes with the complement with friends or strangers is that it might turn to sexual harrasment...at least here in the USA...I lived in Venezuela and compliments are very popular...it does not mean you are going to have any sexual thing...but here is like you have to be really careful...good luck...seize the day...

  • Yes I can see that...thanks :-)

  • Great questions. It is so important not to discount anyone for any reason. I notice that when I compliment someone in the grocery store or wherever, they always seem completely shocked. Then, the smile comes out and you know that you've brightened up someone's day. You're awesome, hon...you really are!

  • Ooooooh nice! Thank you! I know what you mean about one little compliment brightening your day...we need more brightening!

  • cherry! ~awesome new vid..5 stars.its great to help!

thank you for sharing this video! *big smiles* :)

  • Oh thanks! That's so cool to hear!

  • Hey Cherry! Hope all is well, havent had a chance to be on as there is a lot of work during this time of year for me but as usual you look cool here in your latest video and I hope you never leave!

  • Hey Joey ;-) Nice to see you! Thank you for the kind words, as always.

  • people that randomly compliment you for no reason that is apparent to you,in my opinion,is because they like you...and yes,I make direct eye contact with every single

person I meet...and stop smoking because I too am trying to also...people on the street deserve to have direct eye to eye contact;it may help and "we" love you too...

  • I DON'T SMOKE!!! lol. it's chronic bronchitis from growing up in a house of 3 smokers for over 10 years. really. I have been to tons of dr's about it, and next step is a naturopath...when I can afford it....after school lol. Thanks for commenting :-)

  • One time a random guy walked up to me in a store and asked me how I was doing, I said fine and he introduced himself, I didn't because he was freaking me out, but he was introducing himself to everyone.

  • LOL! Ok that would be weird. He could have the greatest intentions, sure, but the delivery is a bit strange and bound to scare people...

  • first off, 5*s, your voice overlapses on the video. It's actually kinda funny. I have complimented people that drive classic cars when I see them. I have always been a sucker for giving money to people in Boston that are down and out. If the people are really strange and make me uncomfortable, I may leave them alone for my own safety.

  • What do you mean about my voice? Is it not in sync with the vid? Yeah I got high quality equipment over here...I usually give food to homeless people, like a piece of fruit from my lunch or something...instead of money. Only cause I usually don't have any! thanks so much for commenting!
