Sure she's a hero for 'overcoming,' but try being disabled and not having a supportive family, supportive Christians and a very poor medical and social system here in the USA. signed, disabled legs, chronic back pain post-op 5 back surgeries, dystonia in the neck and of course depression accompanies it all. Good for her. Too bad for the lonely ones. Yes, I am bitter and angry at the experiences I have had with the aforementioned. This doesn't inspire me. It only makes me more depressed.

She is just more proof that humans are far more than the sum of their parts BTW how do her arms move...? I thought she was unable to move them.

i am reading the book and she said while in rehab she built up her biceps. the doctors also added a brace which permanently bends her elbows so she only needs to lift her upper arms and the rest goes with it. i don't have this wrong...i know b/c my mom met her and talked with her...

joni shows the same firey determination and same type of personality in the book, we should respect her greatly, i know i do...God is good.

While we're here? Still doesn't REALLY matter. I thank the Lord for Joni! She is so encouraging!

Like she says the ones with the real handicap are those of us who get up and run out the door without paying any attention to God (perhaps depending on our degree to get us through the day). She actually values her disability. I've never seen a happier person than Joni.

@BenAliGtor Are you kidding? Dont you think sometimes, life is enough at times.A book doesnt always make you smarter, or give you the right to speak. There are alot of people who need to speak, who is blessed to speak i dont know if she has a degree, and really who cares? Sometimes just time can make you wise enough to talk and you need no book or degree some of the dumbest people have degrees, of worse a degree and a heart of stone.

I love her sense of humor..I just love her . She is so real..and present with her faith.

Bless her ministry. And bless you for uploading this.I had a stroke this weekend..and I want to keep serving him no matter what..i needed this.

I teach teenagers in England and use the Joni film in my lessons. I have been looking for video footage to show all of the wonderful things Joni is doing for people with disabilities even though at first she wanted to end her life.  Is there any way for me to get a copy of the whole Biola video? Thank you!

Thank you for the inspiration Joni.Keeps me going daily knowing that there i am here for a reason whether i know it or not, and god has a plan for me.
