I just completed my Solsylva CNC machine and have just started running it. Great fun! I was curious as to the speed you were running to cut the gear. How many inches a minute are you running at to do this part?
Do you generate the g-codes with LazyCam?, If so, how do you get the z axis to start next pass without returning to safe Z between each pass on multipass cuts?
The actual cutting speed was about 40 ipm. We had to speed up the video to fit the music which youtube took off.

No.. Solsylva sells plans for 5 different models. Easy to follow and well thought out. Built mine spare time in 4-5 weeks.

cuts to aprox .0003 which is hard to beleive but I've miked it. Controllers and steppers are from xylotex.
