Its the name of our EP. Its basically amade up syndrome that describe the fact that perfectlypolite and normally people become arseholes when in airports. They lose patience and become rude, queue jumping idiots.
We have a bassist. Three guitars rocks. Some of my favourite live bands have three guitarists. Radiohead and Oceansize. We can do lots of stuff you cant do as a two guitar band
I'm in a three guitar band too. It's weird but kinda cool. Can you give me any tips as far as having two players harmonize? I haven't really figured that out yet
We harmonize of octave alot of our main riffs. You basically just need to learn a little theory in order to understand how to harmonize notes. A good start would be to learn some other bands harmonised parts and have a look at what type of harmony they have used. This will help yor understanding of the harmony process. Bands like Thin Lizzy are a good starting point as they have fairly simple melody lines nicely harmonised.
We also try and work harmonies into other sections of the music, like the main melody notes in clean sections, or effects laden sections. Just experiment with anything that can fill out your sound and add to the melody of a particular section. Try and avoid just having two guitarist playing the same part.We have almost no sections were we play the same thing, we always through in an actave or two, a harmony or god forbid just dont play! If it doesnt add to the song, dont be afraid to drop out!
Wow thanks! That was really thorough. We'll give it a shot the next time we get to practice. Oh and I saw you use an ebow a lot too. I've been thinking about asking for one for my birthday. Do you recommend it?
No roadies I'm afraid. We dont use alot of gear live. I have all my suff in a large pedalboard pre wired and pre connected. So only takes 5 minutes to setup my two heads and pedals
We did use a Hiwatt, but it wasnt mine. I didnt own the Hiwatt when we recorded the EP. We used the studios HIwat 100 headt for a few cleans, the studios old Marshall JCM800 (which sounds better than any other Marshall I have ever used), some stuff near the end was done on my Mesa Boogie Tremoverb, one or two strange tones from a Line 6 Flextone III, but the vast majority was recorded using Gary's Mesa Boogie Roadking
That studio is in Glasgow is it not? I cany remember the name! Kinda annoying me coz its on the tip of my tongue! Was listening to the previes on Itunes purely coz I only have £0 in my bank account at the moment. Bad times! Getting payed on Thursday though so the album will be baught then! You guys should totally think about doing a gig in Inverness!
Hey man, yeh it was Urban Studios. We rehearse there and hav done some recording there. Let me kno what u think of the ep if you get round to buying it, would be good to hear input good or bad. We would love to gig in iverness, nice place i hv been a few times with the wedding band i play in!!!(money spinner)
Craig dude as soon as I get home I'm downloading the CD. I've been waiting forever now lol. Can't wait to hear all the songs with singing and everything. Best of luck to you man.
Thanks for buing the album, and glad you enjoyed it.
We have lots of clean songs, and extended clean sections on newer songs. Check a few of the rehearsal videos posted on youtube, you can find them through the 'Favourites' section of my homepage. Magnum Opus has some nice clean sections about half way through, as does Placido Disc and Coriolis Effect
I have a GT6 i bought years ago. No I wouldnt consider a GT10, I like my current setup which includes a load of single pedals controlled by a Gig Rig Pro 14. The GT6 has always been decent tho, but sucks the tone from my tube amps a bit
We will have a CD release soon, hopefully some time in Feb. It wont be in stores as wee aint big enough to secure such distribution. You will however be able to buy it from an online store (still to be decided) and we will post it to you. That cool?
Nice that it's done. But I think I'd rather order an actual cd when you got that bit figured...Keep up the good work and nice riffing! And oh, that vocalist of yours, the first taste my ears got of him sounded real nice...
Cool. Dunno why but I've always enjoyed getting the actual cd instead of downloading stuff. Besides, if you really enjoy music why not try and sponsor the artist/band a bit? Even it means giving rec companys a fair share... Btw, Who's done the artwork?
We found anew bass player a while ago. We are still on the hnt for a permanent drummer however. The EP has been pretty much finished for the best part of a year, we just had a few small issues to sort out. Hopefully you will enjoy it
Hey man, it was released early. Its now available to buy on most major digital download sites (iTunes, Amazon, Napster, Rhapsody etc). Check out the myspace. The opening track 'Adams Apple' has been uploaded in full, along with more info on the EP. Thanks
whooo has too much money, whoooo has too much money...
