  • violence did end WWII...that was pretty positive.

  • Bad weather and lack of rations for Nazi troops is what ended WWII.

  • I wanna buy a popsicle ?

  • I still do despise religion. I'm free to believe whatever I would like do to the fact that my grandmother has come out of the "closet" I've looked, and I'm still looking for a religion. I've thought about giving up. I have tried giving up. I guess I just didn't follow through. Most say I shouldn't give up. I don't have any idea what to believe. I am completely confused! About sex, religion, life, death, and everything more.

  • That was amazing Steph.

  • it was honest

  • @StephStance

Science proves that a "non-physical" state, collapses "energy into matter." The Copenhagen's Interpretation & the Double-Slit experiments, show that an "awareness conscious" state, collapses the *wave-function*, & the wave-function is related to the duality of the wave-particle becoming a physical form.

In short, without an observer, you cannot have the falling of a tree. Likewise, without the presence of an awareness state ( intelligence) the wave-function cannot collapse.

  • @youVSmee Science DOES NOT PROVE ANYTHING. It can only support or reject a claim with evidence. Did you even pay attention in college?!

  • @youVSmee And, lack of evidence is not evidence of lack. The soul doesn't even have a clear, distinguished definition to begin with, nor can a hypothesis of its existence or un-existence be tested empirically at the moment. But, even psychologists state that the mind is still a mystery, and there is only so much we know about it.

  • Just remember; your memory, consciousness, imagination, and ability to compute; all is the product of your brain. So if somebody says, "I know I have a soul"; It is just their conclusion of neuron processes. So if something isn't material, then nobody can know it or think it. So there maybe something more, but anything we consider "spiritual" is just product of imagination. Of coarse, it takes a lot more work to become a monist, as opposed to a dualist.

  • I'm not sure there is some sort of entity that can float out of people, like you said the soul isn't material, but I think if people refer to soul as meaning compassion for others or being kind and honest to others, I think that can be a meaning for soul. This was a great video response. :)

  • As long as YOU, yourself, are happy and content, you dont have to prove to other people that you have a soul. Life is yours.. nobody elses. I love your response to his video.. took the words right out of my mouth! :)

  • Thank you....really :o)

  • With the power of soul

    anything is possible.

    J.M.Hendrix

A very cool and wise woman. I just subscribed.

  • Glad you actually watched it...

  • If he took the time to WATCH a handful of your videos, he would realize you have a soul.

  • Thank you

  • soul????? its all in your BRAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Steph, As usual you pose interesting questions and make astute observations. I liked the teacher and student point you made.

  • YOU ARE ONE UGLY BITCH

  • I love Brett to death but I am wondering if that last point you made, made him think. Just a little

  • hummmm I like Brett too....

  • You believe in spirits in the 21st century? WOW!

  • well put. very nice

  • "Physical objects only exist as illusory appearances in consciousness." So...before there was consciousness, there were no physical objects? I call bullshit.

  • That would be correct (before there was consciousness, there were no physical objects). This is my stand point it does not have to be yours.

  • Weak analogy. Smoke in air, which you cannot see. Air is material; it can be falsified, and empirically detected. A soul cannot. Anything spiritual cannot. It only exists in your imagination. Anything non-material by definition does not exist!

  • He wants people more people to believe what he believe's is right because he believes it can bring some good things onto this planet, just like a Christian preacher, and just like all of us.

  • thank you for your comment.

  • I couldn't tell if you were actually trying to answer brett's questions or if you were trying to be emo... This is what I hate when you ask any person about anything that can't be proven. They go into all of this philosophical confusious bullshit that is meant to dodge the question. EVERYTHING IS IN THE MATERIAL WORLD. Everything else is "make-believe". "make-believe" is great for 3 year olds watching mr. rogers neighborhood but should be dropped along with imaginary friends and santa clause.

  • A human being spends nine months in the womb in preparation for entry into this physical life. During that nine-month period, the fetus acquires the physical tools necessary for existence in this world. Similarly, this physical world is like a womb for entry into the spiritual world.

  • Nice re-post, but what the hell does that have to do with anything I just said?

  • That was a nice try with the analogy at the end. The whole "Is that smoke? Or smoke in air which you cannot see?" was a nice try at posing that the soul is something that can not be seen! However it fails because of the fact that air can still be measured.

  • If you weighs an empty balloon and one that has filled with air from you lungs, the air filled balloon will weigh more and proves the existence of the air that is unseen. This cannot be done with a soul and there for one still has no proof of the existence of a soul.

  • Just because we can not measure the soul does not mean It does not exist. In 1640, Evangelista Torricelli discovered that air has weight. Physical objects only exist as illusory appearances in consciousness.

  • Wholly lacking in substance - just say "I can't prove my soul" and be done with it, we're here to learn, not to punch out impressive one-liners and you've wasted my time again.

  • I hope you didn't watch the whole thing, seeing that you are so Unsatisfied.

  • I don't understand some of the insults. I'm simply looking for proof of a soul. I also thanked Steph for the video.

  • Monistic views, often associated with immanence, hold that there is only one substance, sometimes called God or Being. Immanence, derived from the Latin in manere "to remain within". This concept generally contrasts or coexists with the idea of transcendence.Transcendence is a condition or state of being that surpasses, and is independent of, physical existence.

  • A very passionate response, but wholly lacking in substance.

  • Substance theory, in philosophy, that element of an object without which it would not exist, or what exists only by itself.

  • I know how hard it is for you to talk about something so close to your heart baby... you did a good job, i am proud of you.

  • The crucial difference is that, whereas physical development in the mother's womb is involuntary, spiritual and intellectual development in this world depends strictly on conscious individual effort.

  • A human being spends nine months in the womb in preparation for entry into this physical life. During that nine-month period, the fetus acquires the physical tools necessary for existence in this world. Similarly, this physical world is like a womb for entry into the spiritual world. Our time here is thus a period of preparation during which we are to acquire the spiritual and intellectual tools necessary for life in the next world.

  • If a soul is immaterial how can it affect a material thing ? How do you explain the cases of people who lost memories from brain injuries with a soul? What about Alzheimer syndrome? Schizophrenia? If there really is a soul why do brain diseases effects the way people behave ?

  • I have found my place spiritually. I'm very happy with my beliefs and the way I think about the world.... Steph you explained yourself so gracefully.

  • I did all that I know to be true... ty for the very nic comment.

  • According to christians Jesus would throw Gandi into Hell. I heard them say Hitler has more of a chance of heaven because he was christian than Gandi. Please tell me what you think.

  • I would strongly disagree with this claim and could never support hate of any form.

  • Brett Keane is a tool.

  • Call me a tool if you like truth. But at least I don't look like a fat mole like you.

  • Thats.... an inspiring response Brett....so promising... so intelligent...

    c'mon boys.

  • Very interesting, you remind me of the oracle in the matrix.
