I saw this film back in 1984 at the University of South Florida, Tampa campus, at their old special film series. Rode my bike there. Just couldn't resist master Hitchcock's alure.
A brilliant classic indeed. The time this was produced was the golden age of western cinema and of western society indeed.the dress, mannerisms, style everything of which was impeccable.Present films as well as western culture look like a bunch of trash and degenerated filth in front of this.also the present films of the west are only pornography and social and moral excrement of various forms in general.
Most beautful film. A classic. Some of the shots in Scotland I would guess was shot in large studios and not outside as are seen? Especially the one were they hide from the police behind a waterfall? Beautifly done. Thanks for posting this lovely classic clip.
Yes, since there were quite some benefits / interests in studio-filming back in the days, most of the shots were filmed in studio. And that for most of Hitchcock's films

I've uploaded some cool Madeleine Carroll videos: rare footage, a radio appearance and a TV feature. Check them out.
