I don't blame the pilots for not knowing about this. When I first started watching this and heard the reasoning for the crash I was like "since when can you not use the rudder!" But the explanation of how hard you can use it in the air and on the ground makes sense. Though its still scary to hear that it can break off.
Hahaah! The pilot trainer representative really got me rolling on the floor: "I didn't know you couldn't do that." That's sorry. It kinda reminds me of George Costanza from Seinfeld when being caught for engaging in sexual intercourse on his office table with the cleaning woman! =D

Such a sad tale, a totally preventable tragedy if only the rudder controls had been properly explained in training. RIP the 265 who died.
