  • Hugh, Ben was the man. We met in Williamsport Pa at Francos lounge. You told me a joke about a naive tourist in Ireland. "32 years old and you still believe in Leprechauns!" Still tell that joke, and still rock out to you and Ben's recordings. Thanks for all the great music. I sincerely miss the duo. Oh, my name is Ian :)

  • That's fantastic stuff - I first heard Ben doing Death don't have no mercy on The Paul Jones Blues Show on BBC Radio 2 about 10 years ago.I bought his cd 'Journey' from Porthmadog,North Wales while we were all staying in a caravan.I've been hooked on his music ever since.RIP Ben.

    All the best, Dave.

  • R.I.P. Ben! You will be missed!

Hey Hugh,it's Annie, Charlie Donelan's ex-wife; hope you're doing well. I just stumbled on the news that Ben passed on; even tho I'm in Shepherdstown quite a bit I just somehow missed this news and actually almost asked someone last week while there how he was doing.

I'm glad to see there is some good footage of you and him out here to carry on his memory--but seeing Ben live was so powerful that somehow, as good as the footage is, something is lost.. Best, Annie

  • RIP Ben. You were my father's best friend, and you inspired me whenever you came to my house to play. A true artist. Play on at the pearly gates

  • I will miss you my friend! Thank you for being a part of my life, encouraging me to keep playing and being my friend, I feel blessed that I was able to jam with you and open for you in a few shows. RIP BEN, ENJOY THE BIG STAGE IN THE SKY!!!!!!

  • Love and so much peace to Ben...Will keep alive with our memories...Charlotte

  • I will miss you.Gone way too soon.Damn.

  • Tremendous stuff. Sick sick harp playing (wow) and Ben is powerful as ever. What a loss.

  • Rest in peace, Ben... wished I had played with you when I had the chance.

  • We all miss you Ben. Never forget you

  • Ben thanks you sir.

  • R.I.P. Ben Andrews, far too soon.

  • thank you

  • R.I.P. Ben. Will miss your visits to blighty and your cool blues.

  • nice song

  • anything

  • So good to see ben playing recently. When I was 14 (nearly ten years ago now) Ben would come and play in Hastings england and stay with friends of mine there. I remember going round to the house and sitting at the kitchen table with him listening to him play some songs. i'd get up at seven to go to school and ben would still be there playing and partying. Some great memories. Get back here Ben. You're the finest blues player around.

  • very cool. first saw you fellas in the blue riders -- on y.t. good stuff

  • Don't get me wrong, the harp playing was fantastic and not overpowering as I first suggested. After listening to this again, I just seem to think Ben's voice sounded a little faded out and his mic could have been turned up a notch or so---perhaps my ears are going bad from old age. By the way, checked out your video....very impressive.

  • @mishock I agree, and I like Ben's voice so much it would have been nicer to hear it a little clearer. Very nice music.

  • We would love to come to Amsterdam, thats the only city I know. Thank you, we really do apreciate the kind words.

  • I'm glad that I see Ben still playing. I'm from the Netherlands and he's the man that gave me a good impression how to play the acoustic blues on stage! When i saw him about 9 yeras ago in Dordrecht Netherlands, he blowed my mind away. What a great job. And the harmonica is also just as great. I hope to see you two one time in the Netherlands.

    Blues will never die!

  • @pcwrw yes the blues will never die.

  • @harmonicaman12 damn right

  • that was totally fucking brilliant.hugh feeley was the reason i started to play harmonica.came on looking for led zeps version and found these guys. i still cant play harmonica to save my own arse but as much as a cows got cunt i will persevere my brothers.

  • Thank u very much, love your attitude. Keep blown that thing!!!!

  • Awesome! Ben and Hugh are my favourite contemporary blues musicians. I hope to see them in Bulgaria someday.

  • Thank you. we would love to come to Bulgaria to play. You dont know how much that means to me, to put us up there with the best living blues artists. We have been performing in the USA for over 25 years and no one seems to hear the deep blues in our music.. God bless you.

  • Good like it alot, I really like Ben andrews, have his albums but i live in the u.k and can never find anythin about him or when if ever he comes over to england.

  • Ben Andrews has many variations on this song and this one is fantastic. Too bad the harp overpowered his vocals.

  • Sorry but you couldnt be more wrong!!!!

Playing with Ben for 20 years, yea 20 years, I think I know when to play and when not to play. When to solo and when to back up. Maybe u should listen to the classic american blues alittle bit more. Ben NEVER! NEVER EVER SAID I OVERPOWERED HIS VOCALS.
