@pitthepwner They learn it at level 15, five levels before Gyarados, Magikarp is probably the ONLY Pokemon you should allow to evolve along with Metapod and Kakuna.

The good thing about gym leader castle is most of the time if you lose to the current gym leader you will stiil have the previous gym leaded you beat will still get credit for. You'll only have to do the current gym leader most of the time over again.

You should have used Leech seed on Magikarp and then kept switching until that took it down.
