that's why more than a hundred Democrats in the House and the Senate, who had access to the same intelligence, voted to support removing Saddam Hussein from power. A bipartisan Senate investigation found no evidence of political pressure to change the intelligence community's judgments related to Iraq's weapons programs. These are simple facts that are out there if you just look instead of making emotional, knee jerk reactions and assumptions about the war in iraq.

Mr. Hussein enjoyed the lifestyle of a king while his people suffered. Pre-sanctions Iraq living conditions were among the best in the world, now it is one of the most dangerous places on earth.

Saddam was an evil man, but why did the US decide that the Iraqi people in particular needed liberating? I mean seeing as how they had to make up reasons to invade, and there are numerous other evil regimes oppressing their people all over the place. The cruelty Saddam inflicted upon his regime is tragic, and no right minded person would question that, but there is no way that the US can take the moral high ground here.

Axeman, I would have suggested that the US probably shouldn't keep putting despotic dictators in control of countries. The US and the UK shouldn't have opposed lifting sanctions on Iraq that hurt the Iraqi people and strengthened Saddam's regime. The US/UK should not have lied about WMDs to go to start a war against the will of the international community and many of their own citizens.
