When I slept in class I used to put my hand on the paper, lean my head on my other hand and look down pretending to be in deep thought about the question, when I was actually in deep sleep.
@petwelli take away big bang theory, how i met your mother, and friends, then add scrubs, the wire, and firefly. THEN you've watched some of the best live-action shows ever created.
@petwelli Bleh. Remove all but Community and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Add South Park, The Daily Show with John Stewart, An Idiot Abroad, and Californication. Non-comedies have no business being on television.
@JuberLOL Arrested Development is the most overrated, unfunny show, with a cult following, in history. I've seen at least the first 6 episodes (on a recommendation), and it was unbearably unfunny. The jokes were fucking weak sauce and repetitive. The plots revolved around a vacuous spoiled family that only interests dullards. Any show with Will Arnett AND David Cross will be canceled. It's a miracle it lasted 3 seasons.
@Ou8y2k2 Well, I'd say it's all a matter of opinion. You might not get - or let's say, appreciate - the humor, whereas other people can't help but love it for one reason or another. Personal preference isn't really something you can argue with. You hate Arrested Development, a lot of people herre love it, and the sky is still blue.
@willkillyoulast It is a matter of opinion. That opinion sank the show. If it had been different, they would have brought it back like Family Guy. BTW, the movie (if it ever gets made) will be shit too.
@Ou8y2k2 Well. they are bringing it back for a Seasom amd a movie at least. And I doubt it was that opinion that sank the show. If that were true it wouldn't have the support behind it that it has had even since cancellation. It is similar to Community in that, leaving forms of comedy aside, a lot of people just didn't take any notice, which I blame on poor advertising. Same thing has happened with Community. And now it has been benched.
@willkillyoulast IIRC, Arrested Development was critically acclaimed but not well watched. The viewers eyeballs/opinions sank the show or the executives at Fox are retarded. As for Community, I think more and more people are watching it on Hulu or some other online service or torrenting it. Broadcasting shows only on TV is dead.
@Ou8y2k2 That's true. I watch everything online but that's becasue most of my favorite shows air on channels I don't even have. TV itself is a dying thing. ButI fail to see why Community should be one of the shows to suffer for it. NBC are just idiots. I don't think anyone even watches that Whitney crap, but air it they do.
@willkillyoulast "TV itself is a dying thing. ButI fail to see why Community should be one of the shows to suffer for it." Well, NBC hasn't been good since the 90's, with the exception of Community. Like you, I don't want to watch 90 or 120 seconds of commercials every four or five minutes. Whitney will need to suck off an exec to get to season two.
As for Arrested Development, the title fits. They are thinking of bringing it back for a season and movie. Where is the action?
@Ou8y2k2 Damn, I meant to write one of the first. I think TV will eventually just sizzle and burn, soo everything will be done on the internet somehow, but there are some TV shows that deserve to stay right through to the end, or at least get a justifiable ending (In Community's case, Season 4 would be the perfect end point). I can see Whitney, Glee, very many procedurals including the much beloved NCIS/CSI's and all the unnecessary spinoffs getting cancelled, fairly, but not Community.
@willkillyoulast You've obviously never attended a community college, lol. It can end at any time. Some go for a semester. Some don't get their AS degree after 6 years. The rough goal is to either get a degree/cert and get a job, or transfer to a uni after two years with or without an AS.
Anyway, Community will go 6 seasons and a movie like "The Cape". I would also add most of the Law and Orders to your list of Whitney et al.
@willkillyoulast What I meant to say in a roundabout way is that Community colleges are 2 year colleges, so the perfect end point would have been last year.
@Ou8y2k2 I didn't have enough characters remainging for Law and Order, but rest assured, it was on my mind haha. Well, I'm going to Community College here in Ireland but I think it's different in America. I think I recall them mentioning that Jeff's course is a four year course, and that' s why I think it should end after Season 4, unless he decides to pick up another two year course. That's why I was saying four haha, but I would love for it to go on for six.
@willkillyoulast Yeah, in the US they are 2 year colleges. Jeff is supposedly a slacker so he might take 6 or more years at Greendale. Any way you look at it, he would need to transfer to get a BS because you have to complete junior and senior year courses (AKA upper division courses). It's going to be interesting to see how they change the plot/actors in the next couple of years. They will probably end the show after 5 or 6 seasons if it gets renewed.
@Ou8y2k2 No more than 6. Dan could probably pull that off. Usually after five Seasons shows start losing their credebility and whatever imagination they had, but I'm sure Dan Harmon is an exception to that rule. I would say not more than 6, also. But I look forward to any more we get from these guys.
@petwelli I'd take out Friends, say Heroes Season 1, HIMYM Seasons 1-5, and then I'd add in Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Sons of Anarchy, and maybe even Scrubs (minus the last Seasons.) There's my list.
I have woken up in class dreaming that I'm falling!!! It is horrible!! I try to hang on to something, usually the desk & it makes a noise which attracts lots of attention in normally quite class room!
Oh man, he's got nothing on my intense sleeping skills. I once fell asleep in a discussion, but still managed to get the questions being discussed past my sleep filter. At one point the teacher tried to get my by quickly asking me a question, and I lazily raised my head before giving a perfectly succinct answer. Doing the reading: it helps you get away with anything. :P
