@LeshaAnn No it's not because my version is better !
Just like it's "like a wombat on a rampage" as opposed to "like a wild man on a rampage" in the Saints "wild about you".
or Elvis Costello "Hand in Hand" as I recently discovered wrote the wrong lyric instead of the obvious " don't you know I can't stand up straight" he wrote "don't you know I can't stand up steady" missing a chance at a good evolutionary pun. That's OK I fixed them. LOL
This is the original personnel line-up of the Cramps, Lux, Ivy, Nick Knox (looking like he should've been in a Scorsese film) and Bryan Gregory. I got to see them in the late Seventies at Bookie's on Six Mile in Detroit. Someone threw a beer bottle at Lux during the performance. He grabbed it, pirouetted and THREW it against the wall behind him above his head. It all happened in a blinding flash, he was a consummate showman. Just wish Gregory would've remained in the band longer
@Guy4755 Bryan Gregory ended up in Frisco in the early eighties in a horrible goth band called the Beast fronted by his girlfriend who worked at a shakeys pizza across the street from the market I was working in and she use to send Bryan over to get burger for the pizzas. At first I thought it was a BG clone.than a friend told me he was living in S.F
So I asked him one time if he was BG and he said yeah and I told him I USE to like him in the Cramps . He didn't take that to well.
Classic Cramps video. They just worked so well together. Lux was a great lead singer and front man, but was was always humble during interviews saying it was "her" band. Poison Ivy has inspired more women to play guitar than she will ever know.
Yes,..and I'm afraid that ms. Ivy also hapens to be among the most sorily OVERLOOKED talents in music. For example, you know about those stupid Greatest Women in Rock lists that occasionaly crop up ( like in a magazine or tv program for instance ) ? Well Ivy has NEVER been mentiond on ANY of them that I have seen!! And thats something that REALY churns my gut!!
I mean, I'de like to see ohh lets see?...fucking Joan Jett or Chissy Hinde even ATEMPT anything as amazing as Garbageman, TV Set, Sunglasses After Dark, Call of the Wighat or Journey to the Center of a Girl,...now THAT would be a laugh!
@IanSchultz13 THANKS best quality version on youtube.
" The birds are worried and do you know why ? "

@sharkattacksteve It's "The Bird's the word," as in the lyric from 'Surfin' Bird,' not "the birds are worried." Just thought you should know.

@sharkattacksteve I can imagine. Perhaps if he'd eaten better he'd be alive today. Incredible to think that both he AND Lux are now gone. Damn.
